Love confession from a coward (GL)

Chapter 7: Letter

Volleyball practice had been canceled for the day, so I walked down the empty school hallway to the lockers.

Gosh, "You should have checked the group chat," they said. Yeah, yeah, I forgot, okay? I meant to check it in the morning, but then it completely slipped my mind.

Anyway, it means that I'm going home before Hana and Rika. I have to let them know that the practice is canceled.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice when I reached the lockers.

There was no one here...

At least that's what I thought until I got to my locker and found someone standing in front of it.

Why do I say "someone"?

Because that someone was dressed in a very realistic knight costume. Their shoulders and torso were covered with armor, and their arms and legs were clad in old medieval-style clothing. They were also wearing a cloak, and their face was hidden behind a beautiful helmet. It was obvious that none of this was the real clothing of a knight, but rather a very well made costume.

As I stared at them in bewilderment, they silently stared back at me.

They were holding something in their hands.

It was an envelope.

Why was this person standing in front of my locker? And why were they holding an envelope?

"Who are you?" I asked.

They flinched slightly in surprise, and the envelope fell out of their hands, landing softly on the floor. Then, before I could react, they ran quickly toward the hallway, not giving me a chance to stop them.

I stood there for a few seconds, confused, trying to figure out what had just happened... and then, looking around to make sure no one else was here, I slowly walked over to my locker and picked up the envelope from the floor.

When I looked at the envelope, I noticed that it was handmade, with lots of red hearts drawn on it...

It was meant for me, right? I thought. So I can open it, right?

I carefully opened the envelope and took out a folded piece of paper.

When I unfolded it, I saw that the letter was not handwritten, but typed. It was obvious that the author of the letter had written it on a computer and then printed it out.

"Hi... Emi. I don't know where to start because I've never written a love letter before. Oh, you probably already realized that this is a love letter, right? You wouldn't believe how hard it is for me to write these lines. Just the thought of you holding this letter and reading it makes my hands tremble.

I don't even know what to write, I have so much to say, but at the same time I can't find the words. You have no idea how many times I've typed and erased the lines... Well, in the end, I just thought I'd tell you how I feel in simple words.

I love you…

I'm in love with you, Emi.

I love you more than you can even imagine. No words can express all these feelings inside me... But I'm sorry, I won't leave my name here. Yeah, I'm just a coward.

I'm not writing this letter because I want to hear your response, I'm simply writing it to calm my feelings somehow. So if you want, you can just throw it away and forget about it..."
