Chapter 129 Stage 5 Mage
[Mana: 558/558]
[Mana attribute couldn't be upgraded]
[Mana upgrade would be lost in 5 minutes]
[Do you want to break through to stage 5]
'Finally, stage 5, breakthrough,' Xavier muttered in his head, and he heard footsteps behind him.
Xavier turned around as he saw Sylve walking towards him with a look on her face.
"I knew it, you know when I came here I could sense how strong everyone was, there were there were 4 people I couldn't see how strong they were, Dragonborn, one of the demons, Tiger, and you"
"I could see your Mana, and it was low, but I still couldn't gauge how strong you were, and when the fighting began, I gave up; it must be something; how did your Mana increase during this short period?"
Xavier couldn't give her an answer as he saw another piece of information on the screen.
[Breaking through to stage 5]
[Physical ability not enough to support breakthrough]
[Brace yourself]
'Physical ability not enough, what the!! Arrgghh...'
Xavier screamed and fell to the ground; the pain he felt was nothing like he had ever felt; it was like his skin was on fire and his head was riddled with sharp spikes.
"Arrgghh..."
Xavier continued screaming, and Sylve immediately rushed toward his side and began healing him. She had no idea what was happening, but she covered his entire body with a healing aura.
The Harpy and Dwarf were lying down staring at the ceiling so they had no idea what was happening.
Sylve was busy with Xavier and had no time to call any of them, but she focused on increasing her healing as Xavier groaned in pain.
Xavier gasped for air as the pain slowly faded. His body still ached, but the unbearable burning sensation was gone.
He couldn't believe what had happened; the last time he broke through, this didn't happen. That was because his physical ability was enough to support his breakthrough, but this time, it wasn't.
This means one thing, he needed to be stronger.
A system message flashed before his eyes.

Xavier stared at the information as it appeared in front of him; he was finally at stage 5; his Mana was 600, and his spell power also increased to 200, and after that, only his vitality increased.
The rest of his stats were the same, but this was already perfect; if he continued like this, then his Mana was going to be as 1000 soon.
He let out a shaky breath, his body drenched in sweat. Sylve, still kneeling beside him, withdrew her hands, her healing aura fading as he was now better.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her brows furrowed with concern.
Xavier slowly sat up, feeling the newfound Mana coursing through him.
"Yeah… I think so," he muttered, still catching his breath.
Sylve studied him carefully. "That looked painful. What happened? I knew something was up; you have the ability to hide your Mana?"
Xavier hesitated. He couldn't exactly explain what happened; she must know about Mana levels and breakthroughs, so he gave a vague answer.
"I was breaking through to the next stage, but my body wasn't ready. The process… forced an adjustment."
Sylve sighed, "Really, You should have told me. I would have helped, but breaking through requires meditation and Mana Cultivation, at least the first stage, but you had no idea what Mana Cultivation was before I explained it"
Xavier chuckled weakly. "I catch on fast, when I was swinging my sword, I felt something so I got on the ground and sat there, and It was like I could see the Mana flowing through my veins"
"That's the second step in Mana Cultivation; you would be able to feel the Mana going into your skin, but how are you able to extract Mana? It usually takes a while to get it," Sylve said.
"You said something about not being able to gauge the power of four people, what was that about?" Xavier asked avoiding the question.
"I have a skill, I wouldn't call it a skill; it's something I can do when I meet someone for the first time, I scan them to see if they are stronger than me or not; I did that when I arrived here," Sylve explained.
"So you couldn't see four people, including me, but do you think I'm stronger than you?" Xavier asked.
"That's the problem. I don't think you're stronger than me, but for some reason, I can't tell how strong you are; it's like your strength and battle prowess increase every passing second," Sylve replied.
"I think you're stronger than me, but if we fight a battle to the death, I might come out on top," Xavier said.
"Might? You think I can win?"
"Why not, you do have a forbidden spell"
"But I can't use it; it takes my life in exchange for killing everything I want within a certain distance, but I'm already dead, so I don't think It'll work," Sylve spoke.
"You don't know yet, we should move on to the next floor; I'm brimming with power." A smile formed on Xavier's face as he spoke.

"Are you guys ready?" Sylve shouted and the Harpy and Dwarf stood up.
The four of them had two more floors to clear, floors 4 and 5, before meeting the others who went alone if there's still alive.
"What do you think the next floor is going to be?" The dwarf asked.
"I have no idea; whatever it is, we're going to survive," Xavier replied.
"I love how confident you are; try to back that with actual skill," The Dwarf said as he faced away from Xavier.
