Chapter 130 King Ants
"Actual skill, you know I defeated my opponent before you did; what was wrong with your actual skill then?" Xavier replied with a smirk causing the dwarf to shoot him a look.
The four of them made their way upstairs, and finally, they were on the fourth floor.
Xavier knew there were beasts stronger than the ones they had faced, but how strong were the beasts?
Most of the beasts here cannot be found in the human continent, so of course, he had no idea what tier they would be in; the snake and knight he faced were king-tier, after the king tier was a special tier in which only dragons were ranked in that tier.
But the king tier had many stages so most high-level beasts were ranked in king-tier
In the human continent, dragons were considered myths since most humans haven't seen one, but he saw one when they were attacked by demons.
Xavier quickly faced forward with his sword already in his hands; the Dwarf also held his hammer, and the Harpy was already in the air.
"Ants!" Xavier spoke as he saw them. They were still far away, but he could see them, and these weren't ants that could be squashed; the ants were bigger than him in both height and size.
Their black carapaces gleamed under the dim light, their mandibles snapping with a sickening clack.
The ground trembled beneath their relentless march, their sheer numbers alone threatening to overwhelm.
"King ants" Sylve spoke.
"Troublesome" the Dwarf added. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
"A lot of them, damn it," the Harpy said as she hovered around.
Xavier was the only one who had no idea what they were, Sylve called them king ants, so they might be king-tier beasts, but it was impossible to defeat this many king-tier beasts; he couldn't use his eyes to count how many they were.
"Do they have weakness?" Xavier asked.
"King ants have hard exoskeletons; you need to use brute force to break through, and they are resistant to most magic elements except fire and ice, but their joints are the weakness, especially their necks," Sylve replied.
"So I just have to close in and slice their head off or burn them to aches," Xavier said.
"You have to be careful, though; they are powerful, and one bite can take your limbs apart; with their numbers, targeting only one with your sword isn't a good idea," Sylve said.
"Oh no, they have flying ones," the Harpy shouted, and the rest of them looked up to see some of the ants flying; the ones flying were not up to 10 while the rest were closing in on the group.
Xavier took a deep breath as he focused his attention in front of him; the ants were most likely advanced tier; their beast crystal might not be worth much to him. Then he spotted a large one at the very end.
"There's a white one at the end, bigger than all the rest"
"A white one, I haven't seen a white one before, are you sure?" Sylve asked.
"I can see really far, and I see a white one at the very end behind the large opening where the ants are coming from; I'm sure that one is king tier, another stepping stone," Xavier smiled before the screen appeared in front of him.

Xavier looked at the screen in front of him, 3 challenges all at once; the first two were normal, but the last one wasn't.
'Special-tier, wait...that means the white ant is on the same level as a dragon?' Xavier couldn't believe his eyes.
He quickly looked through the rest of the information, three individual rewards or just one special one; of course, he went with the special one, and the screen changed.

Soon, the first ants were just feet away.
Sylve and the Harpy had begun firing off spells while Xavier and the Dwarf dashed toward the ants.
Xavier tightened his grip on his sword, eyes locked on the swarm of towering ants charging toward him and he had a small smile on his face.
With a burst of speed, Xavier lunged forward.
The first ant swung its massive head at him, mandibles aimed at his torso.
He ducked, twisting his body, and then slashed.
His blade found the joint between its head and thorax getting a clean cut. The ant's severed head tumbled to the ground, greenish fluid spraying across the floor.
A smirk formed on Xavier's face as this was going to be one of the easiest battles.
Another lunged. Xavier sidestepped, driving his sword deep into its neck. It shrieked, legs thrashing before collapsing but Xavier couldn't stand still.
More ants swarmed in, pincers snapping, their sheer weight pressing in. He couldn't afford to slow down; he was fighting left, right, and sideways.
A shadow flickered above, and immediately, he knew what it was: flying ants.
Xavier pivoted, barely dodging as one swooped down, claws raking through the air where he had just stood; the Harpy was taking care of most of them, but it seemed there were more.
He leaped onto a fallen ant's corpse, using it as a springboard. Mid-air, he twisted, sword flashing in an arc.
The airborne ant screeched as its wings were severed, sending it crashing down in a heap of broken limbs.
Xavier, who was in mid-air, was now going to be landing in the midst of dozens of ants.
[Whirlwind]
A strong current of wind erupted from below him, pushing the ants away from the ground, Xavier was a little surprised at the power of the spell, but he knew it would be stronger as his spell power increased along with his stage of magic.
Stone crater erupted from behind him—Sylve's magic. She was focused on earth and plant magic sinking the ants and crushing them, but more kept coming.
Xavier landed, rolling to avoid a crushing mandible, then drove his sword upward, impaling the ant through the mouth.
