Chapter 90 Dungeon Boss [Part 2]
Xavier backed away from the knight, moving further away almost to the end of the room but the knight didn't chase after him, it just stood there with it's sword touching the ground.
'There's something strange about this, it isn't even acting like a dungeon boss, and it's also a king tier beast, though it's fast and powerful there's nothing remarkable about it'
'Well then, I just have to go in the right way and I'll final be out of this fucking cave, since all the body of the knight is made of armor, I'll have to aim at the cracks, or I should try magic'
'First I'll try my temporal weapon bind and then I'll see how it reacts'
[Temporal Weapon bind]
Xavier took a deep breath and charged forward, immediately he was in range the knight reacted blocking his attack with ease but the knight was stuck and couldn't move.
Xavier immediately knew the knight was caught in his weapon bind, but since it's fist could still move it was going to figure out what was happening.
Xavier went behind the knight, of he wanted to use magic then he would have to use a spell with enough firepower to take down the knight but currently his only option was Freya's spell which he hadn't use before or the wind spell he learned which was relatively weak.
So he looked at the crack at the leg of the knight where the armor didn't cover and immediately struck thrusting his sword and he felt it pierce through something but the next moment he was pushed back along with his sword by a strange shockwave.
Xavier landed with a thud and immediately stood up.
The knight was now standing straight and the sword of the knight was now a normal sword not a large broad sword anymore and slowly some of the knight armor began to fall off and it was replaced by a black fog making Xavier unable to see past it.
For the first time the knight took a deep breath, he could see the knight's breath as it turned towards him.
[Dungeon Boss]
[Living Armor, True Form]
[Two Quest triggered simultaneously]
[Quest: Survive the first minute again the dungeon boss]
[Reward: New spell(Wind based)]
[Quest: Defeat the dungeon boss]
[Reward: +30 to all attribute]
Xavier stared at the screen and his eyes got stuck on the first quest, he was going to be rewarded just by surviving one minute, meaning if he didn't die within the first minute he was strong enough.
Just like that a timer appeared on top of the boss head, and as soon as it turned [0:59] the boss charge towards him.
Xavier was already taking a stance so he was prepared but the sheer speed of the dungeon boss was just too much.
The boss swung his sword and Xavier just managed to block at the last second but the strength from the boss alone sent him flying few meters back.
Xavier skidded across the ground, barely managing to stay on his feet. His arms trembled from the force of the knight's attack.
'This isn't just faster—it's a completely different beast now,' Xavier thought, gripping his sword tighter.
The boss didn't give him a moment to breathe. It was already closing the gap again, its black fog swirling.
Xavier dodged to the side just as the knight's sword smashed into the ground, leaving a deep crack.
He moved quickly, circling behind it. His goal was simple—survive the minute, after that he would think of what to do next.
The timer above the knight's head ticked down: [0:48].
Xavier used [Wind Gust]. A small burst of air to push the knight back, but it barely staggered. It turned towards him, unfazed.
'I need to keep moving,' he realized.
The knight charged again, this time faster. Xavier jumped back, channeling mana into his legs to boost his agility. He barely avoided the sword as it sliced through the space where he had just been.

Even though he wanted to strike it was impossible for him to do so, some of the knight's armor were enow gone covered by the black fog but if he struck there maybe it would affect the knight but he couldn't.
"Damn it!" he muttered, retreating.
The knight raised its sword high, and Xavier's instincts screamed at him to dodge.
He rolled to the side as the blade came down, unleashing a shockwave that rattled the entire room. Rocks from the ceiling crumbled, and dust filled the air. Stay tuned with empire
[0:25]
'Shit...'
Xavier coughed but kept moving, refusing to let his guard down. The knight's speed and power were relentless, and it was clear that even a single mistake would cost him his life.
'Just a little longer,' he thought, gritting his teeth.
Xavier had no idea if the black fog was magical but he had to try what he was thinking, using [Disrupt Magic] and it worked barely as the black fog dissipate for just a second.
The knight moved towards Xavier again and this time he raised his sword to block and he wasn't pushed back then he realized the knight did it as it rused it's hand and threw a punch that sent Xavier sprawling.
Xavier landed on the ground with a thud, luckily his sword didn't leave his hands and he quickly tried to stand up.
[0:10]
The knight loomed over him, its sword raised. Xavier forced himself up, every muscle in his body screaming in protest. He had to survive.
He quickly raised his sword and met the knight's sword, the clash of their swords sent sparks flying, but he held his ground.
[0:03]
The timer above the knight's head reached [0:00], and the boss suddenly froze and Xavier jumped backwards.
The fog around it grew denser, and it let out a guttural growl as if preparing for its next phase.
Xavier collapsed to one knee, gasping for air after that last strike.
