Chapter 91 Dungeon Boss [Part 3]
Xavier was breathing heavily trying to regain his balance when the screen appeared in front of him.
[Quest Completed]
[Quest: Survive the first minute again the dungeon boss]
[Reward: Whirlblade]
[Description: Summons a spinning blade of compressed wind that rotates rapidly, cutting through everything in its path before dissipating in a burst of turbulent air]
'A powerful wind spell, just what I was looking for, a spell like this would definitely eat through my Mana, and I've been infusing Mana since I started fighting this boss'
[Inventory]
Xavier opened his inventory and took out one of the wolf crystal and absorb it with his skill, his Mana was refilled but it didn't add to his overall Mana capacity.
The boss was still standing still when Xavier stood up and backed away creating enough space between them.
The knight's groaned as more of it's armor fell off exposing more of the black fog, and the knight turned towards Xavier.
Xavier could feel the weight of its power increasing, but now it had more open places for Xavier to strike.
'Maybe the more armor it loses the stronger it gets, that's why the first form of just armor wasn't that powerful'
Xavier held his sword tightly as he prepared himself for the first attack which was going to be a dash.
Suddenly, the knight raised its sword, and the fog surged into the blade, making it glow with a dark, pulsing energy.
Xavier gripped his weapon even tighter. He had no idea what was coming, but he braced himself.
The knight lunged, swinging its massive sword in a horizontal arc. Xavier jumped back, but the blade unleashed a wave of black energy that ripped through the air, slamming into him even though he dodged the strike itself.
The impact sent Xavier flying across the room, his back colliding with the stone wall. Pain shot through his body, and he coughed hard, struggling to breathe.
"Arrgh...What… the hell was that?" he gasped, forcing himself to stand.
The knight didn't give him time to recover. It charged again, moving impossibly fast for something so massive.
Xavier barely raised his sword to block, but the power behind the strike made his arms scream in pain as he was thrown back again.
He rolled to his feet, dodging as the knight's sword came crashing down, cracking the ground beneath it.
'If I don't figure something out, I'm dead,' Xavier thought, panting.
He used Wind Gust to push himself away from the relentless onslaught, creating some distance.
The knight raised its sword high, fog swirling violently around it. Xavier's knew the knight was some distance away but still, he dove to the side as the knight unleashed another wave of black energy, this time carving a deep trench in the ground where he had just been.
"Is this thing ever going to slow down?" Xavier muttered, blood dripping from his forehead.
The knight was preparing to charge again when Xavier cast his new spell [Whirlblade] and hurled it at the knight.
The spinning wind blade struck the exposed gap in its armor, slicing through the fog and forcing the knight to stagger backwards.
His wind spell was successful, it couldn't cut through the fog, but he needed more power, he needed to do it from close range.
The knight recovered quickly. It roared, its fog-covered sword glowing brighter, and then slashed upward. A vertical wave of energy erupted, cutting through the air toward Xavier.
He dove again, feeling the sharp edge of the wave graze his side. Pain flared, and he stumbled, nearly dropping his sword.
The knight was relentless, closing the distance in seconds. Xavier had no time to think—only to react.
He infused Mana into his legs, pushing his agility to the limit as he barely evaded another strike.
Sweat poured down his face, he knew his Mana reserves was low but he didn't have the time to open his inventory, he needed time.
Experience tales at empire
He launched another Whirlblade, but the knight swung its fog-covered sword and shattered the wind blade mid-flight.
Xavier's heart sank. He could barely keep up, and now even his best attacks weren't enough, he was hoping to open his inventory when the knight was recovering.
The knight raised its sword for another powerful slash, the black fog thickening around the blade. Xavier knew he couldn't block it—not without being torn apart.
Desperately, he activated Disrupt Magic, and for a moment, the fog around the knight's blade flickered. The attack lost some of its force, giving Xavier just enough time to duck under the swing.
His muscles screamed in protest, but he managed to roll behind the knight and slam his sword into the exposed gap in its armor. Sparks flew, and the knight staggered forward.
Even the knight was shocked.
"Finally," Xavier muttered, panting.
But the knight wasn't finished. It roared and spun, swinging its sword in a wide arc. Xavier barely managed to block, but the force sent him crashing into the ground.
Pain radiated through his body as he struggled to rise. The knight loomed over him, its sword raised for the final blow.
With the last of his strength, Xavier summoned another Whirlblade. The spinning blade of wind tore into the knight's fog and sent it flying some distance away.
[Inventory]
Xavier quickly opened his inventory and brought out another wolf crystal absorbing it immediately.
The knight stood up and let out a roar, but Xavier raised both of his hands up and brought it down towards the direction of the knight.
[Firestorm]
As if knowing what was coming the knight raised its sword upwards and the black fog created a shield above the knight.
"You bastard, [Disrupt Magic]" Xavier used his skill and the black fog dissipated and flame came crashing down in rapid succession.
It was too much that Xavier couldn't see the knight's body and without any warning Xavier also fell to the ground.
He was exhausted and his Mana was just 1 away from him losing his life, he still didn't have the Mana to cast Freya's spell.
[Inventory]
Xavier brought out another of the wolf's crystal and used his [Arcane Siphon] and Xavier turned to look at the knight which was still on it's feet barely.
[Wind Gust]
Xavier was still on the ground as he cast the spell and once it hit the knight.
The black fog erupted in all directions, and the knight collapsed into a lifeless heap of burnt metal.
Xavier was already on the ground so he just laid there, even though his Mana was refilled every muscle in his body felt like it was on fire, but at least he was alive.

He stared at the screen, barely able to process the words. The fight had pushed him to his limits, but he had won.
