"You don't have an amount like that, really... I'm not going any lower than that" the Fox girl replied.

'I should have taken more than a single tooth' Xavier mumbled under his breath.

"You're not the owner, how much do you want for it?" the cowgirl asked Xavier, but he didn't say a single word till she turned back to the Fox girl.

"I really don't have that; if I finished the potion I'm making, I might be able to raise that amount of money after selling it, but currently, that's impossible," the cowgirl spoke.

"What's that" Xavier pointed towards a white mask at the far end of the shop.

"Oh, it's an illusion mask. Do you want it? It's pretty expensive," the cowgirl spoke.

"Illusion mask, what does it do?" Xavier asked.

"You wear it on your face, and it projects the image you want people to see; for example, I can wear it and look like a demon or a human, but I'm not actually a demon or a human," the cowgirl spoke.

'Demon and humans are in the same category here, that's nice to know...but a mask like this is exactly what I need, I can't keep wearing a helmet, I'm already sweaty'

"I want it" Xavier spoke.

The fox girl turned towards Xavier and whispered, "She's going to knock down the price because of the mask even though it's not that expensive, what do you need it for?"

"Don't worry" Xavier whispered back.

"Here you go," The cowgirl handed Xavier the mask, and once he held it, he could feel Mana radiating off the mask; since his face was covered, the cowgirl could see his reaction, but he was smiling underneath.

"The mask is expensive, so I'll sell it for 400," the cowgirl spoke.

"400, for the mask, it's just an illusion mask; you can get it from the city for like 150," the fox girl spoke.

"Yes, you can, but do you want to...the city is a long way from here, but you can make the journey if you like. I'm not going any lower than that, and I have a balance of 600," the cowgirl spoke.

"I'll take it," Xavier spoke when he saw the fox girl's hesitation; maybe she thought they could make the journey, but Xavier couldn't go anywhere with the helmet on.

"Great, here is the rest of the coin." The cowgirl dropped a pouch filled with coins, and the fox girl grabbed it and handed it to Xavier as they both exited the store.

"Thanks for helping me, how much do you want?" Xavier asked.

"I don't want money. I want you and I to clear a dungeon," she spoke.

"A dungeon?"

"Yes, there's a dungeon I've been going to for some weeks now. It's quite hidden, so no one knows about it yet, but I haven't been able to make much progress; we'll split anything we find equally," the girl spoke.

"A dungeon..." Xavier muttered again.

'Right now, my priority is getting information about where I am, and how to return to the human kingdom, I'm sure Avalon is still standing, and I can get information from her'

"I have teleportation stones if you are worried that we are going to get stuck"

"Why would I worry about that, what kind of beasts are in this dungeon?" Xavier asked.

"It's a golem dungeon, different types of golem, and like all golem dungeons, it has a Mana crystal at the heart of the dungeon, so after you defeat the boss and retrieve the crystal, the golem wouldn't be able to reconstruct themselves." the fox girl answered.

'I've never seen a golem before, and if the golem crystal is what revives the golem then it must be filled with Mana, if I retrieve it and absorb it, it would raise my Mana level'

"Alright, I'll go with you, but under one condition, I get to keep the golem crystal," Xavier spoke.

"To defeat a golem, you have to break the crystal core so you can't retrieve it...wait, are you talking about the dungeon crystal? I haven't been able to progress for a week, and you think we can just defeat the dungeon boss?" The fox girl spoke laughing.

"I'm not joking," Xavier spoke, and the girl stopped.

"Wait, you're serious"

"Do I look like I'm joking, we're going to clear the dungeon"

"How would I know what you look like with the helmet over your face, what are you trying to hide with the illusion mask"

"Nothing special, just a burn on my face" Xavier replied.

"Oh, so when do you think we should leave, I'm sure you're tired?"

"Yes, I am...do you have an inn here where I can stay the night?" Xavier asked.

"An inn, you can stay with me. I live alone, and I have two beds; I used to stay with my sister, but she left for the city," the fox girl spoke.

"Okay, is your house close by?"

"A little" the girl replied, "I haven't asked, what's your name?"

"I'm Xavier, yours?"

"Mari, so Xavier, you're not from around here, where are you from?" Mari asked again.

"I prefer not to say"

"There's nothing wrong with your hometown, right, or are you from...you know what? Forget it, so you're a trained fighter; you don't use a sword, right?"

"I used a sword" Xavier answered.

"But you currently don't have a sword; I have one at home if you want; I don't use swords," Mari spoke.

'Since she likes talking, I'll ask'

"Mari, have you ever been to the human continent?" Xavier asked.

"What? No, I don't think anyone in this village has; humans are almost as bad as demons, but they are far away and have no idea of this kingdom here, so there's nothing to worry about," Mari spoke.

"So if someone wants to go there, how do you think is the best?" Xavier asked.

"I haven't thought about that yet, but I guess it'll be best to fly on a dragon because no ship would ever sail there"

"On a dragon?"
