Time flowed freely and in the blink of an eye, three days had passed.
Still in Harry's office, Arthur sat across from him.
On the table was a vial of blue serum, and next to it was the equipment to test Harry's condition.
Harry stared at the serum on the table, his expression a mix of emotions... eventually settling into silence.
Arthur sat casually across from him. "What are you waiting for?"
"Waiting for my emotions to settle," Harry sighed deeply. "Don't be fooled by how calm I look on the outside; there's a storm brewing inside."
"Yes, I can feel the panic," Arthur said, clucking his tongue. "I understand how you feel."
Harry didn't react to Arthur's words. He took the syringe, carefully prepared the serum and injected it into his arm. His veins were easy to find and with a quick movement the syringe emptied instantly.
He removed the syringe, placed it on the table and stared at Arthur. For a moment, it seemed as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders. Then, unexpectedly, he broke into a smile.
The smile widened uncontrollably, and soon he was laughing so hard he was almost in tears.
Arthur blinked. "Feeling better?"
"Better than I could have imagined," Harry replied. "I honestly thought this was the one problem I would never be able to solve in my life."
"Don't say that. I'm here now, aren't I?" Arthur replied.
"When I first met you, I thought you would only bring me more bad news... but I didn't expect you to be the one to bring me hope."
Harry looked at Arthur seriously for a long time, then smiled again. "Sorry, I don't know what to say to you."
Arthur had already gotten up and was preparing the equipment. "It's almost time. Let's see the results."
The Osborn family's genetic disorder would normally be difficult to detect using conventional methods. But when Norman Osborn was alive, he had anticipated this and designed a complete set of testing equipment.
Harry fixed the equipment in place, and moments later, a virtual screen appeared in front of him.
Various data appeared, and as the progress bar moved down, it became clear that the mutation in his body was disappearing at an incredibly fast rate, until it finally reached "0".
Harry took a deep breath and stood up. "As of today, OsCorp Industry is yours."
"Really?" Arthur looked at Harry.
The young man's look was sincere as he spoke. "Of course, it's true."
Arthur patted Harry's shoulder. "There are so few young people who keep their word these days."
"That's rare, huh?" Harry said, a little stunned by his own transformation. He felt like a new person, the change in his body so noticeable that it was almost as if he had been reborn.
Arthur smiled and teased, "Well, most young people don't keep their word. But I do, of course - just like I don't always keep my word."
"What do you mean?" Harry asked, confused by Arthur's statement. He could clearly feel the difference in his body now, the sense of health he hadn't felt in a long time. He really felt like a normal person again.
Arthur laughed. "Those shares I mentioned before? I was just kidding. If I hadn't said it, you wouldn't have believed me. As for OsCorp Industry... to be honest, I'm not really interested. Besides, it's not practical for me to run a company this big. You know, superheroes are pretty busy. Even someone like you needs a few days for me to save you."
"...So you're saying that even if I gave up my shares, you wouldn't want them?" Harry asked, his expression a mixture of shock and disbelief. "You know, OsCorp Industries is worth at least Two Hundred Billion... if you had it, you wouldn't have to be a superhero anymore!"
Arthur raised an eyebrow. "So Tony Stark is really the kind of guy who's got a few screws loose?"
He blinked. "Or is this just a rich guy's private hobby?"
"That..." Harry was taken aback, he had not considered Tony Stark in the comparison.
Stark Industries was worth far more than OsCorp Industry, yet that genius Tony was still flying around New York in his suit of armor, fighting villains.
Harry couldn't find the words to respond.
He stared at Arthur for a long time, then smiled bitterly. "Sorry, I thought... well, no, maybe it's just that my family background makes it hard for me to understand your values. Maybe you're the ones who are right."
Good health - it was a feeling he hadn't experienced in a long time, but now it felt perfect.
Perhaps in the future he would not feel such a state of health, but for now, this feeling of being pulled back from the brink of death was constantly hitting his soul.
Arthur's attitude of asking for nothing made Harry feel how narrow-minded his previous thoughts had been.
It made him almost ashamed of himself.
"It's because we see things from a slightly longer perspective." Arthur looked at Harry with genuine sincerity and smiled, offering a word of encouragement:
"Keep going, I have faith in you."
Having said that, he turned to leave, but Harry hurriedly called out, "Wait!
Arthur stopped and turned back with a confused expression on his face. "Is there something else? By the way, the serum comes with after-sales service. If you have any problems, you can call me. I've left my number."
"No... I just want to pay you back, but I don't know how," Harry said, looking seriously at Arthur. "You saved my life! Please, let me repay you!"
Arthur thought for a moment, feeling a little helpless. "But honestly, there's nothing I need you to repay me for... Hmm, if you really want to, then if I need help in the future, you can't refuse."
"Of course!"
Harry's eyes lit up. "No matter what it is, you can always ask me for help. I'll be there for you."
"Good."
Arthur nodded in satisfaction. "Then I'll leave now..."
Harry looked at him with reluctance.
Arthur shivered slightly. That look was just... so full of longing.
Did he just save a troublemaker?
With a flash, Arthur disappeared from the office, and in a few Blinks, he was already on the rooftop of OsCorp Industry.
Sitting high up, looking at the starry sky, Arthur exhaled softly. "Well, at least this chapter is closed. The tragedies from the second part of the extraordinary should no longer happen. This is a good thing..."
Standing up, his wings spread wide as he soared into the sky like a shadow.
