Chapter 268: MD-Chapter 267 Laying It All Bare

Though Arthur had suggested they discuss things calmly, Harry hung up the phone with a decisiveness that made Arthur's forehead twitch.

"Has this kid lost his mind? Could it be the Perfect Serum has side effects?"

Being a superhero sounded cool in theory, but any day could be their last. Is this something to jump into so casually? A young man in his twenties making such a life-altering decision on impulse— this was reckless!

Granted, Harry wasn't just any ordinary person. As the second Green Goblin, he was bound to become extraordinary. But for now, the second Green Goblin hadn't truly come into existence.

The serum created from the Perfect Serum had only cured his genetic illness; it hadn't enhanced him in any way. In this state, Harry's sudden decision could very well backfire and put his life at risk.

The OsCorp Industry wasn't just a small family business— it was a conglomerate under constant scrutiny. Who knew how many eyes were watching Harry's every move? A single misstep could lead to unforeseen consequences.

What if, after Arthur saved him with great effort, Harry just went off and got himself killed? The thought made Arthur's expression grow serious.

Without hesitation, he called Harry again and arranged a time and place to meet, insisting they talk face-to-face. Harry readily agreed without any resistance.

The meeting was scheduled for noon at a coffee shop. However, on his way there, Arthur received another call from Harry, saying that something had come up and that their plans needed to change and he didn't need to come anymore.

Arthur wasn't about to listen to that. Change plans at the last minute? Did he look like someone who could be stood up so easily? Most importantly, he was already at the entrance.

He pushed the door open, scanned the room, and quickly spotted Harry. To his surprise, Harry wasn't alone— there was someone else sitting across from him. As Harry noticed Arthur's arrival, his gaze shifted, alerting the person across from him, who turned to look as well. Arthur immediately recognized the familiar face.

Before Harry could speak, Parker waved enthusiastically. "Hey, Arthur!"

Harry's eyes nearly popped out of his sockets. "You two know each other?"

Parker looked equally surprised. "You guys know each other too?"

Arthur suddenly understood why Harry had tried to cancel their meeting— it was because there was a third wheel involved here. With a sigh, Arthur walked over and said, "Let's move this conversation somewhere more private."

Harry glanced between Arthur and Parker, his expression subtly shifting. Parker, sensing the awkward tension, looked back and forth between them while wispering. "Am I missing something here?"

"Long story short, we need a quieter place," Arthur said with another sigh.

Reluctantly, the suggestion was accepted, and the three relocated to a more private setting: Harry's office at the OsCorp Industry. The office was secure enough— Arthur had been there multiple times and hadn't noticed any signs of surveillance.

During the past few days, while Arthur had been busy with Harry's treatment, Harry had shown his cunning side, quietly dealing with some shady individuals in the company. As expected of Norman Osborn's son.

Despite his youth, Harry's methods were shrewd and calculated, far from what one would expect from a newcomer to the business world. Yet now, sitting in the office with Parker and Arthur, the atmosphere was far heavier than before.

Harry felt his mind spinning.

Arthur had suddenly appeared in his office that night, introducing himself as a superhero— a figure from the news called Instructor— claiming he was there to save his life.

And now, this superhero also happened to know his friend. What was their relationship? Did Parker know about Arthur's true identity? If he did, did Parker have some involvement in all of this? Was Parker… just an ordinary person?

These questions circled in Harry's mind, but he didn't dare speak carelessly. Parker, on the other hand, was even more cautious. His thoughts weren't as complicated as Harry's, but his instincts told him that saying the wrong thing here could lead to undesirable consequences.

Arthur, observing the two younger men, felt a headache coming on. How was he supposed to handle this? If Parker hadn't been there, Arthur could've tried to reason with Harry.

But with Parker's unexpected presence, keeping Harry entirely in the dark would be much harder. Should he just bring both of them into his fold? Arthur trusted Parker completely but with Harry... Truthfully, Arthur's trust in Harry was limited.

Harry had a personality prone to extremes. Once he became fixated on something, he could go down a reckless and dangerous path. Although Arthur had saved his life, that didn't mean Harry could be trusted unconditionally.

And yet, looking at the relationship between the two young men, Arthur realized that if he couldn't fully trust Harry, he also couldn't be entirely open with Parker. If Parker, with his tendency to speak without thinking, accidentally revealed something, it might breed resentment in Harry.

'Human relationships were so complicated.' Arthur sighed, acknowledging that this was a skill he hadn't mastered. Finally, he exhaled deeply and said:

"Since we're all sitting here, there are only two options: We awkwardly dance around the truth or lay everything on the table. If we choose the first, seeds of doubt will be sown, and those seeds could grow into a rift over time."

Arthur was sure that, given Harry's personality, just seeing his connection with Parker would inevitably raise suspicions. Avoiding the topic would only damage their relationship. If that was the case, honesty was the best policy.

After Arthur finished speaking, both Harry and Parker seemed to relax a bit. The two exchanged glances before Harry pointed at Arthur and asked, "Do you know his true identity?"

Parker blinked, stunned by the question. If Harry was asking this, it meant… he already knew Arthur's identity! Parker looked over at Arthur, who gave him a slight nod. Only then did Parker respond, "Instructor."

Harry let out a breath of relief. So they really did know each other— and it wasn't just a casual acquaintance. The next moment, Harry swallowed nervously and asked, "What about you?"

Parker immediately turned red, embarrassed. In a small voice, he admitted, "Spiderman…"

"What?!?"

Harry shot to his feet, glancing between Arthur and Parker in disbelief. After a long pause, he finally said, "Right... I should've guessed. You're the only one who could've taken those pictures of Spiderman!"
