Marvel: DNF Invades

Chapter 28: Chapter 28

Hematotoxicity: 53%.

Tony frowned as he looked at the readings on the detector. He sucked the blood on his index finger and remained silent.

After a while, he sighed softly.

The Arc Reactor continued to emit bright light from his chest.

Tony looked up at himself in the bathroom mirror and muttered with mixed feelings, "Could this get any worse?"

Outside, the Monte Carlo circuit was roaring with excitement. The much-anticipated F1 Monaco Grand Prix was about to begin.

The crowd watching the race suddenly went wild.

People saw Tony Stark, wearing a driver's suit, appearing at the competition venue.

"Wait… Is he actually going to race?!"

Reporters with a keen sense of news had already surrounded Tony, all scrambling to interview the billionaire playboy—the one and only Iron Man.

Faced with the cameras, Tony put on his signature smirk and said, "The point of owning a race car is to race. Otherwise, what's the fun in that?"

His words ignited the audience's enthusiasm, and the crowd erupted into cheers.

Iron Man is racing!

The news spread through the entire track like wildfire. It was unbelievable, but it only made the race even more thrilling.

Meanwhile, at the hotel, Pepper never expected Tony to pull a stunt like this.

This was not part of their vacation plans.

Watching the live broadcast, she saw Tony already putting on his helmet and getting into the car. Her face turned pale.

Frantically, she rushed to find Happy in the hotel lobby. "Tony's in the race!" she exclaimed.

At the same time, the race had officially begun.

Tony, in a car he had bought less than a minute ago, hit the gas and shot out of the starting line alongside the other racers.

The roar of the engine drowned out his thoughts, letting him release some of his pent-up frustration as he pushed the car to its limits.

But soon, something strange happened on the track.

A man in an orange maintenance uniform stepped onto the blocked-off track without permission. He walked forward, straight into the path of the speeding cars.

Everyone watching was shocked.

The commentators quickly reported the unexpected situation live to the world.

The cameras zoomed in.

The man pulled off his cap, revealing a hardened face. Then, he ripped open his uniform, exposing a strange device that glowed white.

Metallic whips shot out from his sleeves, crackling with electricity.

In an instant, the intense heat from the whips incinerated his upper-body clothing, leaving only a crude mechanical vest attached to his torso.

At the center of the vest, an Arc Reactor hummed with power, its energy surging into the twin whips.

Then, without hesitation, he swung.

Like a hot knife through butter, the electric whip sliced through an approaching race car, splitting it in half.

The vehicle lost control instantly, flipping through the air before crashing onto the track, smoke billowing from the wreckage.

The audience went into a frenzy.

Even the slowest among them could tell—this was no accident.

The race had been attacked!

Tony's car was next.

Ivan Vanko didn't hesitate. He raised his whip again and brought it down hard.

Tony's eyes widened as his car was cleaved in two.

He felt himself losing control, weightless as half of his car spun wildly in the air before slamming into the track's barrier.

His vision blurred from the impact. Blood trickled down his forehead.

Hanging upside down, he blinked against the dizziness, barely making out the shape of a man approaching him—backward.

The electric whips crackled ominously as Ivan Vanko closed in.

Tony tried to move, but his seatbelt had him trapped like a lamb to the slaughter.

Ivan raised his whip for the finishing blow.

CRACK!

Tony was gone.

At the last second, he had managed to unbuckle himself and roll away.

Ivan turned, eyes narrowing as he found Tony struggling to his feet. Without a word, he lashed out again.

Unarmed, Tony had no choice but to dodge. He rolled, stumbled, and barely avoided a second strike.

Another whip came down.

Then another.

Tony was completely on the defensive, frantically avoiding strike after strike. The electric whips hissed through the air, missing him by mere inches.

From the stands, the audience was frozen in shock.

The men had their mouths open. The women covered theirs with trembling hands.

Everyone was watching, breathless, terrified for Tony.

Ivan smirked.

Tony's luck would eventually run out.

And it did.

Tony tripped, falling hard on the pavement.

Ivan loomed over him, ready to end it.

Just then—

VROOOOOM!

The deafening sound of an engine roared from behind.

Ivan barely had time to turn before a luxury car slammed into him, sending him crashing into the fence.

Blood splattered from his mouth.

Pepper and Happy had arrived—

And they had brought the briefcase.

Tony wasted no time.

With a swift motion, he grabbed the case, activated it, and in front of the entire world—

Iron Man suited up.

With the armor, Tony was no longer a sitting duck.

He raised a repulsor and fired.

Ivan dodged and retaliated, whips slicing through the air. The two clashed, exchanging blows in a heated battle.

But Tony had the upper hand.

From above, Luke had been watching the fight for a while now.

It was clear—Whiplash didn't stand a chance.

The difference was night and day.

Tony's Arc Reactor was second-generation—far superior in energy output and stability compared to Ivan's crude, first-gen knockoff.

Not only that, Tony actually knew how to fight.

Sure, without the suit, he was just another rich guy. But with the suit?

He and Iron Man were one and the same.

Luke smirked.

This fight was already decided.

The only problem?

If Tony Stark stole the whole damn show, what about his mission?

He needed that Mechanic Skill Gift Box.

The legendary Gaiboga blueprints? Not happening. Even if he got them, the cost of building such a monster would be astronomical.

For now, he had his eyes on something more practical.

What he really wanted was the G-0 War Lord design from the female mechanic class.

But if the gift box only contained basic skills?

That would be a damn tragedy.

If that happened, Luke swore he'd grill octopus balls and eat them just to drown his disappointment.

Meanwhile, the world held its breath as Iron Man and Whiplash continued their battle.

Every camera was fixed on them.

Every audience member was glued to the screen.

Across the globe, millions watched the showdown unfold live.

And just as it reached its peak—

Something changed.

A shadow streaked across the sky.

A metallic glint caught the light.

Then, with a thunderous boom—

A mysterious mecha dropped from the heavens.

The world gasped.
