Marvel: DNF Invades

Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Luke's appearance immediately brought the atmosphere to a new level.

Countless cameras and cell phones were pointed at this unexpected guest. People speculated and discussed the identity of this mecha.

1.2 meters high and 1.2 meters wide... The machine's design combined the styles of DNF and Gundam. The air combat mecha, Tornado, was new and unfamiliar to everyone in the Marvel world.

It was undeniable that Luke had demonstrated his highest engineering skills in this mecha.

As soon as the mecha appeared, it caught the eyes of most people in the crowd.

It seemed everyone except for those working with Warframe shared the same opinion on mecha aesthetics.

Someone quickly determined that this must be a new model of Iron Man!

"Iron Man is bringing reinforcements? A mini Iron Man?" an excited fan exclaimed.

"Iron Man! Take down your opponent!" a Monaco spectator shouted.

"Oh my God, what a cute model!" A female audience member blushed and screamed, "Tony, I love you! I want to have your babies!"

Luke's sudden appearance stunned both Tony and Ivan, who had been fighting.

The two of them stopped and kept their distance from Luke.

Tony was thinking: What kind of trick is this?

Ivan, on the other hand, was thinking, "Damn Stark, bringing more people to win? I won't admit defeat!"

His goal today was to humiliate Tony Stark in front of the entire world. He wanted to turn Tony's boasts into a joke.

Tony had once promised everyone that the Ark Reactor would not be replicated within ten years. He had also boasted that no one would dare challenge Iron Man in a one-on-one duel!

Ivan wanted to clear his father's name. He hoped to kill Stark in front of so many people, but even if he couldn't, proving to the world that Stark wasn't invincible would be enough of a victory for him.

Ivan glanced at the new mecha, his face darkening as he raised the electric whip. While Tony wasn't paying attention, he wrapped the whip around Tony's neck.

The Ark Reactor was fully powered, and the electric whip immediately released a powerful surge of electricity!

Inside the battle suit, the virtual screen in front of Tony flickered as the electricity caused some interference. Luckily, it wasn't anything serious.

After five generations of improvements, the Mark suit had some ability to resist external voltage, low temperatures, and even intense radiation environments. With Tony's brilliance and Jarvis's help, he had considered every possibility.

The only issue was that the armor thickness had been reduced somewhat for portability, which Tony wasn't too happy about. But aside from that, the Mark V was nearly perfect.

Tony planned to use his suit's durability to absorb the electric current while trying to grab the electric whip and prevent Ivan from escaping. Slowly, Tony moved toward Ivan.

At that moment, a shadow dashed across the field and Ivan was knocked away. The electric whip slipped from his hand, and he crashed into a wrecked racing car.

The 1.2-meter-high mecha made a punching motion. Luke had controlled the strength of the punch well; otherwise, Ivan would've had a hole in his chest instead of just the Ark Reactor.

However, the punch still knocked Ivan out cold. No matter what, his plans for the night were ruined.

Luke wasn't trying to kill Ivan. It would do him no good. Killing him would also change the plot of Iron Man 2. Luke wasn't foolish enough to complicate things for himself.

The police "finally" showed up. It's always the case—they only arrive at the last possible moment.

A group of officers handcuffed the unconscious Ivan Vanko, dragging him away like a lifeless body.

As for Tony and Luke, the police walked past them as if they didn't exist.

Now, only Tony and Luke were left on the field.

The audience was a bit disappointed that the show had ended too abruptly, not giving them enough time to enjoy it.

"Swish," Iron Man's mask opened, revealing Tony's face. He looked at Luke and asked, "Who are you?"

Luke's voice came through the mecha's poor speakers. He didn't answer but said, "High-tech prosthetics, huh."

This had become a well-known joke. During a U.S. Congressional hearing, Tony had denied that Iron Man was a weapon, instead calling it a high-tech prosthesis.

Tony pretended to be surprised and said, "Don't tell me you're my crazy fan. I have to admit, your machine is... well, very different. It's just a little small. If I were you, I'd make it the size of a normal person. It could be operated manually and remotely."

Luke smirked and said, "Black Widow is right; you're an egomaniac."

"Black Widow? What's that?" Tony asked.

Since the plot had changed, Tony didn't yet know about Black Widow.

"Nothing. Goodbye," Luke said, then controlled the mecha to take off into the air.

This wasn't a good place to fight—the stands were too crowded. While his mission was to cause trouble, Luke didn't want to hurt innocent people. That was different from taking out criminals. Luke had his own moral line.

Tony wouldn't give up. He lowered his mask and fired two streams of fire from his suit, flying after Luke.

Tony flew up next to Luke and curiously looked at the mecha. "You shouldn't be here, right? Remote control? While that's a novel idea, it has its limitations. Mainly, network disconnections and data anomalies."

Luke ignored him, so Tony continued, "How could a person fit in such a small body? Unless you're a little kid? This is ridiculous. It's impossible."

Tony immediately dismissed this thought. It wasn't that it didn't make sense logically, but Tony didn't want to believe that a child could build such a mecha.

Jarvis had already analyzed some of the air combat mecha Tornado's parameters. Tony had to admit the design was quite mature, and it should've been made by a veteran. At least, it would take someone of his genius to pull it off.

"None of your business," Luke replied, continuing to fly.

He was waiting for the right moment. He had already decided to take on Tony today—for the reward!

Tony, poor guy, was oblivious and kept following Luke, talking nonstop.

"Look, since you're here and helped me out a little, shouldn't I thank you? Of course, I could've solved this myself, but forget the thanks. Still, we can't just let this slide. I think we need to have a good private talk."

"There's nothing to talk about." Luke sped up the mecha and prepared to fly away.

Tony reached out and grabbed the mecha's ankle.
