Chapter 244: Chapter 244
Marine Headquarters
"Hahaha! My grandson is amazing! What an incredible reward he's gotten!"
Garp laughed heartily, clearly proud of Luffy's accomplishments.
"Garp! Watch your position!"
Sengoku scolded loudly, visibly annoyed by Garp's blatant favoritism toward Luffy.
"Sorry, sorry. But he is my grandson, after all," Garp replied with a grin.
"In that case, with the increased strength of the Straw Hats, Trafalgar's crew, and Kid's crew, we'll need to raise their bounties," Kizaru commented.
"Are we talking over 500 million for each of them? Bounties like that for rookies in the first half of the Grand Line are unheard of," Akainu said with a grim expression.
"Perhaps we don't need to worry about them," Aokiji countered. "As long as they're trapped on Skull Island, they can't cause trouble."
"Indeed. For now, let's leave it at that. The Straw Hats have become so powerful that fighting them would bring us no benefit," Sengoku said, his face darkening. To confront the Straw Hats now, they'd need all three Admirals and Garp himself to stand a chance. The Straw Hat Pirates' threat level was now on par with the Four Emperors.
This realization left Sengoku deeply troubled. The Marines desperately needed to bolster their strength, and capturing a containment item could be their best chance to achieve that.
Meanwhile, on Whitebeard's ship, the atmosphere was celebratory.
"Let's toast to Ace's brother!" Whitebeard called out, raising his cup.
Everyone joined in, drinking and cheering for Luffy's incredible display of power.
"Ace, your brother is really something!" Marco said, patting Ace on the shoulder.
"Thanks! That guy's finally become a man who can stand on his own!" Ace replied, downing his drink with a wide grin.
"Your brother seems interesting. Next time you see him, ask if he'd like to join my family!" Whitebeard suggested with a chuckle.
"Sure, but I'll bet you anything he'll refuse!" Ace laughed, and the entire crew burst into laughter.
On the discussion screen:
Strange: "I'm curious about the Op-Op Fruit. A superpower tied to surgery and medicine? What's that all about?"
Robin: "The ability allows the user to create a space called a 'Room,' where they can perform surgical operations on anything inside. They can even extract pathogens directly from a body to cure diseases. Essentially, any known medical technique can be applied for treatment or combat."
Strange: "Fascinating! So it can cure any disease? That's an incredible power!"
Robin: "Indeed."
On the Sunny, Robin finished explaining everything to Law, Kid, and their crews.
The two captains and their crewmates were visibly stunned.
"You're kidding, right?!" Kid exclaimed, struggling to accept such outrageous concepts.
"I'm not kidding. It's the truth. We were just as shocked when we first learned about it," Robin replied with a serene smile, her honesty unmistakable.
"This is absurd. Universes, multiverses, SCPs..."
The flood of unfamiliar terms overwhelmed Law, leaving him reeling.
"Setting that aside, are you saying flying is the only way off this island? But with the entire island covered in Aokiji's ice, escape is impossible!" Kid shouted, pointing toward the frozen sky.
"There's nothing we can do about that. It's not like the Marines will let us go," Usopp said with a helpless shrug.
"Then we're stuck here forever?!" Bepo wailed, his anxiety palpable.
"Not necessarily. There's a way to escape," Law said, drawing everyone's attention.
"You're not just making this up, are you?" Kid demanded.
"I don't make baseless claims," Law replied coldly, glaring at Kid before turning his gaze to the icy walls above.
"My ability allows me to swap the positions of two objects. If I can get close enough to that ice wall, I can switch myself with part of it and escape the island."
Everyone stared at him in disbelief. Such a method seemed almost too good to be true.
"Captain, what about us?!" Bepo asked urgently.
"Of course, I'll bring you with me!" Law nearly snapped. "Do you even need to ask?"
"What about us?!" Usopp interjected, pointing to himself and the Straw Hats.
"You're not my crew," Law replied indifferently.
"Oh, come on, Tra-guy, that's not how you should talk to us," Nami said, smirking.
"And tell me, Tra-guy, can you fly?" she asked, tilting her head.
Law froze for a moment, then shook his head reluctantly.
"Exactly. My magic can make the ship fly, so you'll need us too," Nami said with a triumphant smile.
"I can use Sky Dragon Slayer Magic to lift the ship to the ice wall. From there, you can swap our positions and get us off Skull Island," Nami explained, formulating a solid plan.
"Fine. As long as you're useful," Law conceded, though he added, "But stop calling me Tra-guy! We're not close!"
"Aw, what's wrong with Tra-guy?"
"Yeah, it's a nice nickname, Tra-guy!"
"Exactly! It suits you, Tra-guy!"
The Straw Hats ignored Law's protests, cheerfully calling him by the nickname, much to his frustration.
"So, Eustass, are you coming with us?" Law asked, turning to Kid.
"Huh?" Kid glared at him.
"You heard what the Straw Hats can do. What about you? If you want to come, you'd better prove you're useful. I won't waste my energy on dead weight!"
Kid's crew bristled at the insult, their anger barely contained.
"Heh, Trafalgar Law, do you realize that with those words alone, I could kill you?" Kid growled, his fury palpable.
