Chapter 130: Meeting Tony

Inside the room stood Tony, his Iron Man suit still around his body with only his facemask raised, carefully watching Liam as he entered.

A silence fell as the two didn't say anything to each other. It was broken when Tony raised a hand and waved the receptionist off.

"You can leave now."

With a nod, the receptionist bowed slightly before walking out of the room, leaving Tony and Liam alone in the spacious lounge.

Tony was the first to break the silence.

"Alright, I'll bite. What do you want?" His tone was casual, but the way his helmet remained off while the rest of his suit stayed active said enough—he wasn't taking any chances.

"Money," Liam answered simply, his eyes falling on Tony's upgraded armor with some curiosity.

Tony scoffed. "Hate to break it to you, but Stark Industries isn't a charity."

Liam said, smirking. "Who said anything about charity? I've got something I know you'll want to buy." He took a step forward.

Tony didn't flinch, but his eyes narrowed slightly. "You? Selling something? Hate to break it to you, but there's not a lot in the world that I don't already have."

Liam didn't react to Tony's mocking words. Instead, he just stared at him without a change in his expression.

Seeing this, Tony continued, chuckling, not caring about Liam's silence.

"Oh, this should be good. Alright, let's hear it—what exactly are you selling?"

Reaching into the air, a small, metallic cube appeared between Liam's fingers. He held it out in front of him, closer to Tony's view.

"Vibranium."

For a moment, Tony didn't react. He looked closely at the cube. Then, without looking up, he spoke.

"Right. And I'm the Queen of England." He gestured vaguely. "Next time, try selling me something that's at least realistic."

Liam smirked, flicking the cube with quite some power since he used his enhanced arm. And on cue, the cube reacted—it started absorbing the energy created by his flick. The cube turned a light blue color, then vibrated softly for a few seconds before slowly returning to its normal black color.

"That's a nice trick. Real convincing."

Raising an eyebrow, Liam responded.

"I don't do tricks." He threw the cube towards Tony so he could observe it up close and scan it.

Catching the cube, Tony looked at Liam strangely, surprised by his action. Deciding to stop joking around, he raised it to his eyes and examined it carefully. Just because he was looking at the cube didn't mean he wasn't paying attention to Liam anymore—Tony made sure to keep his guard up in case Liam tried something.

Tony's facemask flipped down while Liam heard him speak to Jarvis. Seconds later, he saw a blue light coming from one of Tony's visors. The blue light slowly scanned the vibranium cube from top to bottom.

When the scan finished, a soft beep was heard inside Tony's suit.

"Scan complete, showing molecular structure," Jarvis said while displaying the metal's structure inside the armor.

"…Son of a bitch," Tony muttered, not believing his own eyes. This was a metal so rare even his father couldn't get his hands on more. In records his father had left behind, it was mentioned that vibranium was a meteorite of some kind, which was why he couldn't obtain more.

Tony threw the vibranium cube on the ground in front of him and shot it with his repulsor. The same blue light appeared around the cube while it remained intact. The same unfortunately couldn't be said about the floor around it, with Tony's repulsor shot melting through some of the flooring.

Picking up the cube again, Tony stared at it, his mind running a million miles per hour. He flipped up his faceplate again, frowning as he looked directly at Liam.

"Where the hell did you get this?"

Liam smirked. "Trade secret."

Tony's eyes narrowed. "See, that's not how this works. Vibranium doesn't just 'show up.' The last time anyone saw vibranium was when my dad got his hands on a tiny bit of it—for one project."

Getting no response once again, Tony exhaled deeply, tapping his fingers against the cube as he processed the situation.

"Alright, mystery man," he finally said, tossing the cube in the air once and catching it. "Let's say, hypothetically, I believe this is real—which, by the way, my scans are already confirming it is—what exactly do you want from me?"

Liam smirked, stepping forward. "I told you already. Money."

"You're going to have to be a little more specific. How much are we talking here?" Tony asked, starting to walk through the room.

Liam folded his arms. "Depends on how much you want."

Tony moved towards a small minibar, not looking back as he spoke. Internally, Tony couldn't help but be skeptical about it really being vibranium, the entire situation seemed very strange to him. But then again, since the scan he had created and put in the armor said it was vibranium, it couldn't be anything else.

"Drink?"

"Sure," Liam said, smiling. Walking further into the room, Liam sat down on a comfortable leather chair.

Meanwhile, Tony poured two glasses of wine and walked back over to Liam. He placed the glass in front of him as he sat down on the sofa opposite him.

"Now we can continue talking like real businessmen," Tony said, appearing comfortable as he sat on a fancy sofa, while still wearing his Iron Man suit.

Looking at Tony, Liam felt like something was off. He replayed what he had done to him a few months ago in his mind and couldn't help but feel like Tony's behavior was strangely normal while speaking to him.

"You asked how much I wanted? That's simple," Tony continued, taking a sip from his wine glass while Liam was distracted. "I want everything you got."

Hearing what Tony said, Liam snapped back to the conversation, quickly responding.

"Wouldn't expect anything less from the billionaire philanthropist," Liam said, grabbing four more cubes out of his dimensional pocket. "I've got a total of 10 pounds (5 kg). Tell me, Stark, can you afford it?"

Looking at the total of five cubes on the table, Tony froze up, shocked. You must understand—Howard had created the shield with only six pounds of vibranium. He had shaped the shield and made it thick with a mixture of lightweight materials before coating it in a layer of vibranium.

Seeing someone come here with pretty much twice the amount of a material that had literally only been found once in history shocked Tony, who clenched the vibranium cube still in his hand tightly.1
