...
Undoubtedly, this was an incredibly powerful "golden finger," with each talent being something that the vast majority of people could only dream of but never attain! The only thing that Luke found slightly unsatisfactory was that it was initially in a sealed state. After five years of effort, Luke had only unlocked two talents, with Manufacturing Mastery just recently unlocked less than a year ago.
Over the five years, in order to test his system, Luke used various methods to familiarize himself with it and determine his upgrade path.
Manipulating machines and creating objects was essential to his upgrade journey.
The "Constructor Luke" talent instilled in him a constant urge to create something. Driven by this urge, he succeeded in making his first mechanical dog, which he gave an AI. This unlocked his first talent: Mechanical Affinity. With this talent, the first stage allowed him to instinctively assess the attributes of materials and mechanical creations just by touch and feel.
What is Mechanical Affinity?
Without needing complicated data calculations or tests, Luke could instantly perceive the limits of the material and the maximum potential of the mechanical creation with just his intuition. He could immediately identify how to improve and enhance those limits. This often resulted in upgrades in materials, energy, and other factors.
What could it do? What were its limits? Was there room for further upgrades?
If something went wrong, where did the error occur? How could it be fixed? What were the possible solutions?
Like an instinct, through touch, sight, and feel, Luke could effortlessly find an accurate answer.
What is Manufacturing Mastery?
Manufacturing Mastery meant that as long as Luke saw or learned the basic principles, he could create it. The only difference is the length of time to make it. The more information he had about the mechanics of it, the fewer problems he'd face while manufacturing. The less information, the more issues he'd need to solve. But during this process, his inspiration would never run out until he completed the creation.
For example, if Luke looked at Iron Man Tony Stark's armor, even with minimal information, he could spend time recreating it and even upgrade it into something of his own! The higher the level of Manufacturing Control, the less time it would take to make a replica.
As for The One Who Touched Earth Without a Word, simply put, anything that couldn't be made in a laboratory, Luke could create by hand with just a hammer and a few tools, using whatever materials he had on hand. The precision, stability, and quality of his handmade creations would shock others!
After all, in the Marvel Universe, if you don't have the kind of unreasonable hands-on ability like Tony Stark or Ivan Vanko, then you can't be considered a top-tier genius in the technological field.
Each time a talent is unlocked or grows, the system also arranges a card draw reward, which could range from ten to fifty draws. There are eight cards to choose from, and each contains a variety of items related to his talents. The lowest tier reward is a Bronze Card, which usually contains some gold coins. These coins accumulate over time and can be used to buy things within the system. There are also cards with items designed in the style of Heblon Technology or Pandemonium Technology.
For every ten draws, there is a guaranteed Silver Card. Silver Cards contain more gold coins and higher-quality items, such as certain knowledge from the Pandemonium or Heblon Technology.
If he's lucky, there is a chance to draw a Gold Card. The items and knowledge drawn from a Gold Card are more advanced and comprehensive than those from the Silver or Bronze Cards.
To put it into perspective, the Heblon Technology mechanical creations drawn from a Bronze Card are equivalent to normal monsters in a basic map. A Silver Card brings out more elite-level monsters, and a Gold Card brings out boss-level creatures.
As for whether there are higher-tier cards beyond Gold, Luke Field has yet to find out.
Over the past five years, Luke has flipped cards nearly two hundred times, with more than 150 being Bronze Cards, and almost half of those only contained gold coins with no other items. Among the rest, there was only one Gold Card, while the rest were Silver Cards. The items and knowledge he received were varied, including some Heblon and Pandemonium styled tech creations, as well as special materials.
The knowledge-type cards are the rarest, with the single Gold Card being one of them. Compared to the fragmented and sometimes incomplete knowledge systems from Bronze and Silver Cards, the knowledge Luke obtained from the Gold Card was vast and complete. It was so vast that he didn't dare absorb it all at once and had to receive it in batches, starting from the basics and gradually going deeper.
Artificial Intelligence - Mind Uploading, Creation, Alteration - Consciousness Immortality.
Though not the most renowned aspect of Heblon Technology, such as the Mechanical Throne or the Energy System, this didn't mean that Heblon Technology lacked strength compared to other technologies. It had its own unique style and direction for further development.
"Is the matter settled?" Luke Field asked, looking at the approaching blonde woman.
The woman, without a doubt, was an exceptional assistant. In terms of family background, intelligence, education, ability, and appearance, she could be called a paragon of excellence. If it weren't for the longstanding relationship between his family and hers, and the mutual understanding they shared, Luke would never have been able to recruit such a talented person to serve as his secretary.
Her importance to him was comparable to that of Pepper Potts to Tony Stark. Without her, managing the company would be enough to make both him and Stark frustrated to the point of breaking down.
Ina Sandra gave him a helpless look. "Seven corporate spies. Director George Stacy has already arrested them. For the foreseeable future, those seven will definitely spend a long time in prison."
"Cheer up. This is inevitable with rapid expansion," Luke Field shrugged, offering some words of comfort. "Think about it. If we weren't thriving and achieving great success, why would those corporate spies swarm us? Isn't that right? Honestly, I'm impressed with the abilities of those seven, it's a pity."
Ina was confused. "I don't understand why you're in such a rush to expand."
"Because without rapid expansion, my brilliant, idea-filled mind can't be fully realized." Luke chuckled and stood up, his young, handsome face breaking into a smile. "Let's go. George Stacy is an old friend of ours; we shouldn't keep him waiting."
Luke didn't really want to expand so quickly. If he could, he'd prefer to take it slow and avoid attracting too much attention. Unfortunately, things weren't that simple. Looking at the requirements for unlocking and growing the Manufacturing Mastery ability, he sighed deeply. It wasn't that he didn't want to take it slow, but he simply couldn't afford to.
Manufacturing Mastery: Unlock Requirements: Have a research team completely under your control, with at least 100 people. Growth Conditions: You need to increase your own or your team's reputation and strength. Description: As the ruler of Heblon, you need to have the influence to command, along with a respected reputation.
This almost sealed the fate of Luke Field's plans for steady and slow development. Since he was destined to become famous and exposed, he had no choice but to speed up the enhancement of his strength in order to deal with the challenges from the outside world and the coming crisis in the world.
As long as he didn't collapse, the faster he expanded, the better. The faster he leveled up, the better.
With this mindset, Luke, who was focused entirely on research and mastering the Heblon and Pandemonium technologies, naturally needed someone with enough ability to steer his Heblon Technology ship through the stormy seas and ensure it didn't capsize. So far, Ina Sandra had exceeded all his expectations in this role.
The two walked out of the conference room and headed straight to Luke's, or more accurately, Ina's office. A middle-aged man in a police uniform, seeing the two of them, greeted them with a warm smile and exaggerated tone, "Oh, look who it is!"
Luke returned the smile and exchanged pleasantries with the man.
"How's Gwen doing?"
"Of course, she's fine, except for complaining about wanting to intern here. But she's just a high school student—what could she do here? As long as she doesn't cause trouble, it's already good enough."
"Don't be so harsh. Gwen still has a lot of potential."
"Let's not talk about her. Did you poke the nest of corporate spies? This is already the third time this month! At this rate, I feel like all the corporate spies in New York will be caught in your net."
George chuckled.
"I don't want this to happen either, but some people just use these underhanded methods, right?" Luke Field shrugged. "Thanks for your hard work, Uncle George. Next month, I'll send some support to sponsor your police department with a batch of weapons and help you to upgrade your equipment. As protectors of public safety, you can't afford to have outdated gear."
George Stacy's smile widened. Rubbing his hands, he said, "The weapons from Heblon Technologies are very effective. They've greatly reduced police casualties and quelled many controversial incidents. If possible, when you sponsor us, it'd be great to add more of the attribute bullets Heblon produces, especially the Frost Bullets. They've been a big help in terms of public satisfaction!"
"No problem. I'll have Ina arrange for someone to coordinate with you on that. Non-lethal control bullets—those would be perfect for you."
Luke couldn't help but chuckle. Recently, the New York Police Department had become famous for its new approach: after warning the criminals, they just shot them, regardless of whether there were civilians nearby. As long as they hit the criminal—or anyone else—they froze the person into a statue of ice, threw them in the back of a truck, and took them to the station. As a result, police cars in New York's police departments had been replaced with pickup trucks.
While the New York Police gained fame for this, Heblon Technologies, the supplier of these new weapons, also gained a great reputation. In fact, recently, some members of Congress had proposed that the government should step in and purchase these specialized weapons from Heblon Technologies and distribute them to police departments across the country.
"We can't let New York have the exclusive use of this 'merciful' weapon without drawing criticism from certain kind-hearted individuals. Compared to that small expenditure, it will help us avoid a lot of unnecessary protests and trouble." The congressman said.
