Multiverse Gacha

Chapter 451: [449] Request

The scene shifted to the floor beneath the top level of the building where Natsuki resided. August stood before the two women, his expression a mix of confusion and amusement.

This entire building, once an offering from the Lion King Organization, now belonged to August. Each of his close companions, including Beatrice, Yukina Himeragi, and Sayaka Kirasaka, had their own private rooms here.

The top floor, however, was reserved for August, Natsuki, and their personal circle.

After the tumultuous events of the Oceanus Grave I banquet, August had returned here to find two unexpected "guests."

"What's going on here?"

August turned toward Beatrice, raising an eyebrow. "I asked you to apply a little pressure on him. When did that turn into kidnapping his mediums?"

Meanwhile, Yuiri and Shio, the two women standing before him, kept their eyes fixed on August, their gazes filled with uncertainty and unease.

August had left a profound impression on them in the past. They still vividly remembered how he had effortlessly overpowered Kojou Akatsuki. Not only that, but Yukina Himeragi had singlehandedly subdued Kojou's familiars during that same battle—a feat that should have been impossible for someone of her abilities.

Both women, being sword shamans of the Lion King Organization and Yukina's seniors, were well aware of her potential. While talented, Yukina could never hope to defeat a Primogenitor's familiar on her own. The reason for her success was clear—the man standing before them.

Just earlier, a female vampire had appeared out of nowhere and subdued Kojou, the Fourth Primogenitor, once again. What's more, the vampire had forcibly taken Yuiri and Shio away right in front of him.

Adding it all up, it seemed Kojou, the so-called Fourth Primogenitor, had never truly defeated anyone. Could this so-called "Primogenitor" title be nothing more than an exaggeration?

"Sir, may I ask why you've brought us here?" Yuiri finally broke the silence, her voice cautious. Though she wasn't romantically involved with Kojou, she had been bitten by him, marking her as his familiar. As one of Kojou's blood companions, her loyalty and role were bound by that connection.

Coupled with the beliefs instilled in her since childhood, Yuiri's principles were clear—once she had pledged herself to one man, there was no turning back.

But now, here she was, brought before another man by force. Anyone would naturally question the situation.

"You don't need to worry," August replied calmly. "I'm not desperate enough to stoop that low."

Yuiri and Shio's expressions soured at his remark. Desperate? Stooping low? Were they really that unremarkable?

Despite their indignation, neither dared to voice their discontent. To them, August was a terrifying presence—a man who radiated an overwhelming aura of danger. Provoking him would undoubtedly lead to dire consequences.

For his part, August felt somewhat at a loss. He admitted that targeting Kojou's women was an effective strategy. After all, no man could stand idly by while someone took what was his. That anger, that sense of humiliation, would inevitably fuel Kojou's growth.

As the inheritor of everything the "Fourth Primogenitor" once was, Kojou's body housed a treasure trove of potential. Created by the ancient Devas and the three Primogenitors as the ultimate weapon to defeat the god of calamity, Cain, the Fourth Primogenitor was a vampire of unparalleled power.

Kojou's potential was undeniable, but he had yet to fully realize it. Several factors were holding him back.

First, he was incomplete. Not all his familiars had returned to him, leaving his powers fragmented. Second, he hadn't consumed enough blood to awaken his full strength.

But the most critical issue was his mindset. Kojou had not yet come to terms with his identity or embraced his role.

That said, taking away his mediums was counterproductive. Without them, how was Kojou supposed to awaken his familiars?

"Alright, this was all a misunderstanding. You're free to go back," August said at last, waving dismissively.

"Back?" Yuiri's expression faltered.

"Of course. Return to Kojou. After all, you're crucial to him as his mediums."

Hearing this, Yuiri and Shio's faces darkened. The term "crucial mediums" cut deep, stinging their pride.

Years of rigorous training, countless lessons and sacrifices—was it all for this? To be reduced to nothing more than blood sources for a vampire? The thought was unbearable.

Yuiri, though reluctant, was resigned to her fate. Her passive nature made her more inclined to accept such circumstances.

Shio, however, was far less accepting. She had no respect for Kojou and harbored deep resentment toward him—especially after witnessing what Yuiri had endured. Her dissatisfaction with the situation only grew.

But the Lion King Organization's orders were absolute. They had no choice but to obey.

"Um… Could we possibly stay here instead?" Yuiri suddenly asked, her voice hesitant.

"Huh? Stay here? Why?"

August looked at Yuiri with confusion. She was Kojou Akatsuki's blood servant, the chosen one of the Lion King Organization. She had replaced Yukina Himeragi in that role, so why would she want to stay here?

"I don't want to return," Yuiri said, her voice steady yet tinged with an underlying firmness. "I don't have any particular attachment to the Fourth Primogenitor. I only stayed with him because it was the command of the Lion King Organization."

"So, you want to use my influence to help you escape Kojou Akatsuki?"

"Yes, I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm begging you."

Without further hesitation, Yuiri stood up and bowed deeply, nearly to ninety degrees, before August. The unexpected gesture caught him off guard.

August was momentarily stunned. This felt almost like the setting of a harem anime, with the protagonist, Kojou, effortlessly surrounded by one beautiful woman after another. Now, after already being connected to him and even having her blood drained by him, Yuiri still wanted to sever her ties.

It was almost surreal.

Why go so far as to ally yourself with one of Kojou's enemies, all for the sake of escaping him?

"Master, just let them stay. You can easily take them for yourself and definitely provoke that Kojou even further," Beatrice chimed in, her playful voice full of suggestion.

Yuiri and Shio both turned red at the comment. Despite their mature positions, they were still only fifteen-year-old girls.

"Stop coming up with such terrible ideas. This is all on you," Yuiri snapped, her face flushed.

Beatrice only smirked, unfazed. "But they're two beautiful girls, aren't you even a little interested?"

"You think I'm some kind of novice?" August responded, his voice full of indifference. "The women I've encountered far exceed your imagination. What's the point? And do you really think I'm interested in your looks?"

"Isn't that so?" Beatrice teased, stretching languidly in front of him, her perfect curves accentuated by the movement.

Wearing a black leather outfit that clung tightly to her body, her golden hair cascaded elegantly over her shoulders, her alluring presence undeniable. With her seductive charm and enviable figure, it would be an understatement to say she was beautiful.

But for August, beautiful women were hardly a rarity anymore. After so many encounters, his immunity to them had grown.
