Chapter 66: I-Island Arrives.
Whew, another waifu, another day.

As Izuku Midoriya walked back into Class 1-A, the room was buzzing with casual chatter. But the moment Shota Aizawa stepped in, the air shifted.
With his usual half-lidded, exhausted gaze, he wasted no time.
"Listen up. During summer break, you'll all be going to a forest lodge for training."
The class instantly erupted into excited cheers.
"That sounds amazing!" Mina Ashido beamed, practically bouncing in place.
"A lodge sounds great! I could use a break." Eijiro Kirishima grinned.
"I wonder what the food situation will be like?" Sato mumbled to himself.
However, their enthusiasm was quickly cut short when Aizawa continued.
"But—" He let the word hang ominously in the air. "If you fail the end-of-term test, you'll be stuck in remedial school instead."
A chorus of groans and despair followed immediately.
"Noooo! That's so unfair!" Denki Kaminari practically collapsed onto his desk.
"I don't even remember what subject I failed last time…" Sero muttered, scratching his head.
Kurokami Tenshin, however, looked around in innocent confusion. He tilted his head slightly. "It's just a term test. Is it really that hard?"
From beside him, Shoto Todoroki unexpectedly chimed in. "I think I understand this social custom. Since it's the end of the semester, everyone will be swamped with work and unable to do the things they truly want to do. Like…" Todoroki paused, choosing his words carefully. "If someone had a hobby for writing, but this test came up, they'd have to put it on pause for a while."
Kuro's eyes lit up with admiration.
"You've gotten great at talking, Todoroki!" He gave a dramatic thumbs-up. "We might actually get you to say more than twenty sentences in school someday."
Todoroki opened his mouth, clearly about to say something else, but then his expression flattened.
Because just beyond Kuro's shoulder, a very familiar tuft of yellow hair was approaching.
"Hey~ guys! You wouldn't mind—"
"You want us to tutor you, right?" Todoroki cut in flatly, not even looking at Denki Kaminari.
Denki blinked, startled. "Exactly! So you'll do it?"
Todoroki responded just as flatly. "No."
Denki's jaw dropped. "Why not? You've got time!"
Kuro tapped his chin thoughtfully before answering for Todoroki. "Todoroki is planning on using summer break to spend time with his mom and siblings."
Todoroki nodded in confirmation. "Deepest apologies, but I don't have time."
Denki groaned dramatically. "I suppose that's fair… I'll just ask Jirou, then. She's already planning to take tutoring lessons from Yaoyorozu."
As Denki trudged away, Kuro and Todoroki fell into a comfortable silence.
Then Todoroki asked, "Where are you planning on going?"
Kuro blinked. "Why do you think I'll be going anywhere?"
Todoroki glanced at him. "You would have offered to help Denki in a heartbeat, but you didn't. That means you preferred not to say anything rather than raise his hopes only to bring them down."
Kuro laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Wow, I suppose I'm an open book, huh?" Then, with an air of mystery, he said, "Well… I'm going somewhere secret."
Todoroki barely reacted. "Oh."
Kuro waited.
Nothing.
"...You're not going to ask where I'm going?" Kuro finally prompted.
Todoroki gave him a blank look. "No. You said it's a secret, so I won't ask."
Kuro pouted, slumping dramatically in his seat. He kind of wanted Todoroki to keep asking.
...
Far from the warmth of U.A., deep underground, in a sterile, dimly lit lab, a massive vat of liquid bubbled ominously.
Inside, suspended within the eerie greenish-blue fluid, a man floated motionlessly.
His scarred body barely twitched, and long, gnarled fingers hung limp. Tubes extended from his arms, his back, and into a black mask that covered his face.
Outside the vat, a short, round figure adjusted his glasses, tapping rapidly at a console. A tag pinned to his coat read:
Dr. Daruma Ujiko.
He muttered to himself as he typed, then suddenly paused, sighing dramatically. "So, the Hero Killer escaped after all… but he still hasn't joined the League." He glanced up at the floating figure, shaking his head. "How troublesome."
Slowly, the man inside the tube opened his mouth.
His voice was distorted, gurgling slightly through the mask. "Tomura's role… is to supervise and unify the new villains who have gathered… that is his purpose."
The doctor scoffed, shaking his head. "That child? Hah. He's still immature. If you stepped in, things would move along much faster, Master."
The figure in the vat chuckled softly.
A terrible, chilling sound.
Then, he raised a single hand—fingers twitching slightly—and the entire lab seemed to grow colder.
"No, Doctor. Tomura must do all the hard work."
The bubbling liquid rippled.
"He was born for this."
Slowly, the man inside the vat turned his head, his sightless gaze settling on a nearby newspaper resting on the table.
A photograph from the U.A. Sports Festival was printed on the front page.
A young boy, grinning with determination and hope, captured mid-smile.
Izuku Midoriya.
"...So," the man mused, his voice carrying an unsettling amusement.
"Is this your successor, All Might?"
Silence.
Then, a soft, hollow laugh.
"Haha… his smile is quite nice. It must have reminded you of Nana Shimura."
The fingers of his left hand twitched—then suddenly, he clenched his fist.
The newspaper crumpled instantly.
The man exhaled slowly, savoring the moment.
"My, my… the anticipation is practically eating away at me."
Dr. Ujiko—still typing away at his console—paused, eyeing the figure warily. "Are you scheming something again, Master?"
A deep, sinister smile stretched behind the mask.
"Oh, Doctor…"
The tubes hissed as the liquid began to drain from the vat.
"You seem to have no faith in my self-control."
A heartbeat of silence.
Then:
"I already have something planned."
The liquid fully drained, leaving the towering man standing amidst a cloud of freezing mist.
His voice dropped to a whisper, but it carried enough weight to shake the room.
"Tomura himself has been itching for another chance."
