My Hero Academia: Thunder God

Chapter 232: Chapter 231: Nine-Tailed Flame Staff

Because both sides had tacitly agreed not to use their detection functions, the situation on the field quickly descended into chaos. A flurry of flamethrowers and 100,000 volts of electricity crackled through the battlefield, raging against the stormy backdrop.

For the spectators, it wasn't too hard to figure out what was happening, just focus on the attacks that left marks on the ground. That was a dead giveaway. At the same time, the difference between the virtual clones of 'Pikachu' and 'Vulpix' compared to the real shadow clones in Pokémon became clear. Unlike the Pokémon versions, these clones did not disappear upon being hit, making them far more advanced.

However, the chaos didn't last long. Both Kaminari and Momo exchanged helpless glances before speaking in unison, "Cancel the shadow clones!"

The next moment, all the 'clones' disappeared, leaving only 'Pikachu' and 'Vulpix' facing off on the field. There wasn't much choice, their clones had become completely irrelevant. After all, the two artificial intelligences controlling 'Pikachu' and 'Vulpix,' with their immense computing power, didn't even need detection functions. They had already locked onto each other's real bodies using the damage patterns on the field.

"Still fighting?" Momo asked with a confident smile.

Kaminari thought for a moment before shrugging. "Is there any point? Besides, doesn't your 'Vulpix' have any other tricks?"

He had grown tired of this match. It wasn't suited for determining a winner, especially since causing real damage to each other wasn't the point.

"That's not entirely true!" Momo tilted her chin up slightly, a sly grin forming on her lips. She then gave a command to 'Vulpix.' "Use stealth!"

"Vulll!"

The 'Vulpix' responded obediently, its body glowing faintly with a light blue hue. Then, as the light dissipated, it vanished completely from sight.

"..." Kaminari stood there in silence, his brows twitching. After a moment, he hesitantly asked, "Wait, does Pokémon even have a stealth skill?"

He racked his brain, thinking about various Pokémon in his past life. He recalled Kecleon, which could blend into its surroundings by changing its color. There were also Ghost-types like Gengar, which could vanish into thin air. But as far as he knew, invisibility wasn't a standard ability for a Vulpix.

"Hmm, it seems invisibility is possible in certain cases…" Kaminari muttered under his breath.

"You're right. Stealth isn't a move listed in Pokémon's official skill set, so a real Vulpix couldn't use it." Momo admitted this openly, her smile growing brighter.

"But," she added, "our Pokémon battle has already deviated from the official settings, hasn't it?"

"Fair point," Kaminari admitted. Then, his gaze shifted to the empty space where 'Vulpix' had been, his curiosity piqued. "So, how does this invisibility work?"

"The principle is the same as the shadow clone technique. Instead of projecting its own image, it projects the environment around it, effectively blending into the surroundings," Momo explained casually.

"I see!" Kaminari nodded in understanding. The simulated environment images made it appear invisible. With such advanced AI and projection tech, it was a clever workaround.

"But this effect only works because of the immense computational power of the AI behind it," Kaminari remarked sincerely, his admiration evident. "You really are a genius, Momo. Even a simple projection becomes impressive in your hands."

Momo's innovation also sparked new ideas in Kaminari's mind. He began to consider ways to incorporate this stealth projection into 'Pikachu's' abilities. It could be incredibly useful in avoiding future ambushes from 'villains.' While he wasn't afraid of petty thugs, their antics were undeniably annoying.

"By the way, does 'Vulpix' have other forms? After all, it's made of 'SIS alloy,'" Kaminari asked as he walked toward Momo. While he had provided the design concept, the final product might have some surprises.

"Of course. Instead of a full battle suit, we made a multifunctional weapon as you suggested," Momo replied. She turned to 'Vulpix' and gave it a command.

Suddenly, 'Vulpix' began to glow with radiant golden light. Its form started to shift and transform at a visible speed. Within moments, what had been a fox now floated in mid-air as an elegant, long-handled staff.

The staff was about 180 centimeters long, with flowing fire-like energy running across its surface. At its top were two symmetrical, fan-like structures made of nine golden fox tails. Between these tails burned a small, eternal flame. Below the fan-like tails was a cluster of golden mane, resembling the Nine-Tailed Fox's fur. At the very bottom of the staff was a sharp golden spear tip, about 30 centimeters long.

"It's… beautiful," Kyoka said, walking over to admire the staff. Her eyes sparkled as she stared at the gorgeous weapon. Like most girls, she found herself drawn to its aesthetic charm.

"This form is what I call the 'Nine-Tailed Flame Staff,'" Momo explained, holding the weapon confidently. "You mentioned before that my Quirks take too long to produce powerful items and can be interrupted easily. So, I needed something that could provide real-time combat capabilities."

She twirled the staff lightly before continuing, "This 'Nine-Tailed Flame Staff' can release powerful flames, create flame vortexes for defense, and even be used in close combat. I've even taken lessons from a weapons master to improve my combat skills."

Kaminari and Kyoka exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with awe. For a moment, Kaminari couldn't help but think that Momo looked like Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, holding her divine staff. The image gave birth to a sudden idea.

"You guys wait here for a moment! I need to draw something!" Kaminari exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over.

"Draw something?" Momo and Kyoka asked simultaneously, looking at him in confusion.

Nodding, Kaminari reached for one of the 'Golden Poké Balls' on his waist.

"Boom!"

The ball burst open, releasing a mass of golden sand. Kaminari turned to 'Pikachu' and commanded, "Pikachu, make a table and three chairs!"

"Pika, pika!"

Under 'Pikachu's' control, the golden sand rapidly formed a long table and three chairs. The remaining sand compacted itself back into a ball and landed on the table.

After sitting down, Kaminari addressed 'Pikachu' again. "Give me a pen and paper."

Moments later, a virtual paintbrush and a white light curtain appeared before him. Kaminari grabbed the brush and began sketching with impressive skill.

"Kaminari, what are you drawing?" Momo asked curiously, leaning forward.

"A Cloth! Athena's Cloth!" Kaminari declared with excitement.

Since he and 'Pikachu' couldn't communicate telepathically, he needed to draw a visual reference for it to recreate the Athena Cloth using the 'golden sand.' He hadn't expected to design it today, but the sight of Momo holding the staff had reignited his chuuni tendencies.

"Don't worry, it won't take long—twenty minutes at most!" he assured them.
