My Life in Multiverse

Chapter 189: Ch 187 - Reunion

With a swift movement, Mereoleona aimed a powerful strike, pushing the boundaries of her flames.

In that moment, Alex felt the weight of her instincts guiding her, and he realized he couldn't hold back any longer.

He countered with a flurry of his own strikes, each one powerful enough to match her fervor, but still, he didn't want to hurt her.

"Enough!" He said firmly, his voice steady as he grappled with her wrist mid-strike, redirecting her momentum.

Mereoleona stumbled slightly, surprise flickering across her face.

In that brief moment of contact, the connection she sensed deepened, igniting a flicker of recognition in her heart.

"You… you feel so familiar," she murmured, her fiery determination faltering.

"Because I am," Alex replied, his voice softening.

Mereoleona, breathing heavily from the exertion, met his gaze, a mixture of conflict and respect crossing her features. "Who are you really? Why do I sense you as mine?"

"Because our paths were intertwined long ago," Alex said, stepping back and releasing her wrist.

The magic surrounding them began to wane, the hax that clouded her memories slowly dissipating. Tears welled in her eyes as realization washed over her.

"Asta…" She whispered, the name escaping her lips like a long-forgotten melody.

As if a dam had broken, tears streamed down her cheeks, her heart swelling with joy. "You're really here… my heart knew it all along."

The warmth of their connection surged, breaking through the last remnants of the hax.

Alex stepped closer, his expression softening. "I've been here all along, Lioness. Watching over everyone..."

Overwhelmed with emotion, she let out a small, relieved laugh, her fierce exterior cracking in the warmth of recognition. "I thought I had lost you… but now…"

As the confrontation transformed into a moment of shared understanding, Elysia beamed, witnessing the reunion between her parents, a bond that transcended time and memory.

Mereoleona wiped her tears, the flames of her spirit reignited not just by strength, but by love and connection. "I won't let you go again, Asta. Not now that I've found you."

The vibrant colors of twilight cast a serene glow over the Vermillion estate as Mereoleona led Alex and Elysia through the lush gardens. The air was filled with the fragrant scent of blooming flowers, creating a stark contrast to the fiery intensity of their earlier confrontation.

As they walked, Elysia couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Alex than met the eye. She glanced between her mother and the stranger, her curiosity piqued.

"Mom, do you know Asta?" She asked, a hint of mischief in her voice.

Mereoleona, still wiping the remnants of her tears, looked down at her daughter, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"You could say that," She replied, her voice carrying a mixture of warmth and pride. "He and I share a history, but it's complicated."

Elysia raised an eyebrow, her inquisitive nature taking over. "Complicated how? You just fought him a moment ago, and now you're smiling at him! You can't just drop that without explaining."

Alex chuckled softly, his amusement lightening the mood. "I suppose that does sound strange. Your mother and I have known each other for a long time, even if she didn't realize it until recently."

Elysia's eyes widened, her excitement bubbling. "So you're friends? Like really close friends?"

Mereoleona shot Alex a sidelong glance, her expression teasing yet affectionate. "You could say we're more than that, Elysia. He's… someone special to me."

Elysia's heart raced with a mixture of joy and curiosity.

"Special? How special? Did you two have adventures together?" She leaned closer, eager for the details.

Alex smiled at Elysia's enthusiasm, his gaze flickering back to Mereoleona. "Well... it is a little complicated. You can say that we've faced countless challenges together and fought side by side in battles. But that was a long time ago."

"Why didn't you ever mention him before?" Elysia pressed, her tone insistent. "You've always talked about your past, but never about Asta."

Mereoleona's expression softened, the warmth of nostalgia washing over her. "It wasn't a part of my memories until now. I've been so focused on being a mother and the Magic Knights that I didn't realize what—or who—I had lost."

Elysia tilted her head, contemplating.

"So, does that mean Asta is my dad?" Her voice was a mixture of hope and innocence.

"Yes," Alex replied gently, kneeling to meet her gaze. "If you want me to be."

Mereoleona's heart swelled at the sight, and she stepped closer, wrapping an arm around Elysia's shoulders. "You've always had a father, Elysia. It's just that for a long time, he wasn't able to be with us. But now… now we have a chance to be a family."

Elysia beamed, the idea igniting her spirit. "I like the sound of that! Can we do fun things together? Like go on adventures or train?"

Alex nodded, a chuckle escaping him. "Absolutely. I'd love to take you on adventures and teach you everything I know about magic and combat."

"Really?" Elysia's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That would be amazing!"

Mereoleona watched the exchange with a mix of pride and warmth, knowing that this connection was what they had all longed for.

"But remember, Elysia, being a magic knight is about responsibility and hard work. It's not all fun and games," She added, her tone turning serious.

"Of course! I want to be the best magic knight ever!" Elysia declared with determination, clenching her fists.

Alex smiled at her spirit, feeling a sense of hope as he stood beside Mereoleona and Elysia.

"Then let's make sure you have the best training possible," Alex said, rising to his feet. "With your mother's fire and my knowledge, you'll become a force to be reckoned with."

Mereoleona watched the two, her heart swelling with pride and joy. "I can't wait to see the both of you in action. Just be careful not to break anything—especially my garden."

Elysia laughed and for the first time in what felt like forever, the tension that had filled the air began to dissipate, leaving only the promise of new beginnings and adventures waiting just beyond the horizon.

The serene atmosphere in the Vermillion estate was suddenly shattered by a chilling gust of wind that swept through the garden, causing the flowers to tremble and the air to crackle with energy.

Elysia turned, her excitement quickly replaced by confusion as a shadowy figure appeared at the edge of the garden.

"ASTA!!"

A voice boomed, fierce and demanding.
