My Life in Multiverse

Chapter 190: Ch 188 - Reunion (2)

In a heartbeat, Yuno Grinberryall emerged, his form exuding an intense aura of wind and star magic. His eyes blazed with fury as he unleashed a flurry of spells directed straight at Alex, shimmering bolts of energy arcing through the air with lethal precision.

Mereoleona instinctively positioned herself in front of Elysia, ready to shield her daughter from the impending attack.

"Yuno, wait!" She shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos.

But Yuno was relentless, his emotions driving him to unleash his pent-up anger.

"You've been gone for ten years!" He shouted, his voice a mixture of rage and relief. "Do you have any idea what it's been like? You just left us!"

Alex, his expression serious, deflected Yuno's magic with swift, graceful movements. The wind danced around him, but he remained grounded, refusing to back down. "Yuno, I—"

"Don't you dare say you had your reasons!" Yuno interrupted, the magic swirling around him creating a tempest of power. "You just abandoned everything! Our family, our home! And for what? To chase shadows?"

As the spells collided with the ground, creating craters of energy, the air grew thick with tension.

Mereoleona stepped forward, her presence commanding. "Yuno, this isn't the time! He's back; can't you see?"

But Yuno was beyond reason, his heart conflicted between the anger of betrayal and the flickering hope that his brother was finally back. The sight of Alex fighting with Mereoleona had triggered something within him—memories long buried under the weight of absence flooded back, shattering the hax that had kept him from remembering the bond they shared.

"I felt you during the Magic Knight Exam," Yuno admitted, his voice softer now, as the winds began to settle around him. "I didn't want to believe it. But when I saw you here… fighting Lady Mereoleona… I remembered everything."

The fury in his eyes began to wane, replaced by a mix of confusion and longing. "Why didn't you come back sooner? We needed you. I needed you."

Alex felt a pang in his heart at the raw emotion in Yuno's voice. "I had to confront my past, Yuno. I had to do that so everyone could actually have a peaceful future."

Tears brimmed in Yuno's eyes as he lowered his gaze, the weight of ten years of separation pressing down on him.

"It's been so hard… I thought I'd lost you forever."

At that moment, the air shifted. Mereoleona stepped forward, placing a hand on Yuno's shoulder. "He's back now. We can rebuild what was lost, but we need to trust one another."

Yuno looked up, his expression wavering between anger and relief. "You promise you won't leave again?"

Alex hesitated, the weight of the question heavy in the air.

"I can't, Yuno," He said, his voice steady but laced with regret.

"If everyone remembers me, it could jeopardize the friendly relationship between the kingdoms. They might seek peace because of my strength, not because of trust. And that will cause problems when I eventually leave this world."

Yuno's brow furrowed, confusion mingling with frustration. "But we're family! How can you say that?"

"I'm here now," Alex continued, determination in his gaze. "I want to spend time with you and Elysia. But I can't risk the peace we've built."

Elysia, who had been watching the exchange with wide eyes, stepped forward, her innocence shining through.

"So, you two really are brothers?" She asked, her voice filled with curiosity. "Does that mean Uncle Yuno is really my Uncle?"

Yuno chuckled despite himself, the corners of his mouth lifting in a smile as he wiped away a stray tear. "I suppose you can say that, kiddo."

Alex knelt to Elysia's level, his expression softening. "And I'll do everything to be a good father to you."

The warmth of their reunion wrapped around them like a protective cloak, and for the first time in a long time, they stood together, not as fragmented pieces of their past but as a family ready to embrace the future.

As the three stood in the garden, the air was thick with emotions, yet unbeknownst to Yuno, Mereoleona, and Elysia, they were not alone.

Hidden just beyond the lush greenery, Fuegoleon Vermillion had been quietly observing the reunion. The former captain of the Crimson Lion hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but the moment he heard Yuno's anguished words and Alex's heartfelt reply, a flicker of recognition ignited within him.

Fuegoleon had been living under the weight of a mysterious hax for years, one that dulled his memories and emotions, preventing him from connecting fully with his family and comrades. But the words exchanged in the garden rang true to his heart, stirring something deep inside.

"I'm here now… I want to spend time with you…"

Each syllable struck a chord, unraveling the binding spells that had held his consciousness captive. Fuegoleon gritted his teeth, the memory of his brother and the warmth of familial bonds flooding back like a rush of invigorating magic. He could see it all clearly now—the long nights of worry, the silent prayers for his family's safety, and the determination to protect those he loved.

"It could jeopardize the friendly relationship between the kingdoms…"

The complexities of trust and strength echoed in his mind. Fuegoleon felt the veil of the hax lifting, allowing glimpses of his past and the relationships he had cherished. With each revelation, he stepped closer, unable to contain the surge of emotions that welled within him.

Suddenly, Yuno turned sharply, sensing another presence.

"Who's there?" He called, his voice steady but laced with authority.

Fuegoleon stepped into the clearing, the moonlight catching the crimson of his hair and the fiery determination in his gaze.

"It's me," He said, his voice resolute. "I've been listening."

Mereoleona's eyes widened, surprise flashing across her face. "Fuegoleon! You shouldn't sneak up like that."

"Apologies," He replied, but his expression softened as he looked at Alex and then back to Yuno. "But I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. It seems I have more memories than I thought."

Yuno's face shifted from surprise to relief. "Fuegoleon! You're also free from the hax!"

Fuegoleon nodded, the weight of years lifting from his shoulders. "Thanks to you and the bond you share with Asta, I finally understand what it means to be a family."

He took a step forward, closing the distance between them. "You've shown me that even when darkness looms, it's the bonds we forge that define our strength."

Alex, taken aback by Fuegoleon's return, felt a swell of pride. "It's good to see you too, Captain Fuegoleon. I missed you."
