My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 526: Taboos and Legacy - Part 2

"So, you're my progenitor?"

Athena sat in the chair beside Leon, her eyes fixed on Altair with a mix of surprise and confusion.

"That's right." Altair smiled and nodded slowly. "Do you not believe me?"

Athena shook her head. "No, I believe you."

She couldn't prove it directly, but something deep within her stirred. Her blood seemed to tremble—reacting faintly to the woman before her.

That sensation alone was proof enough. Altair truly was her progenitor.

She took a sip of her tea, giving Altair a once-over. "She's incredibly beautiful."

Even as a fellow woman, she had to admit—Altair was stunning. Her beauty and figure left nothing to be desired.

Of course, there were certain areas where Athena still felt confident—her breasts and hips.

Altair's chest was generous, and her curves were undeniably attractive. But Athena's were just a little fuller. That small edge was enough to soothe her pride.

Pushing those thoughts aside, she turned to Leon and asked, "So, why did I suddenly appear here? And why are you here too... looking so familiar with her?"

Her tone was calm and composed, but beneath it, jealousy, hatred, and anger simmered—like a hidden blade tucked in a sleeve.

"Ahem." Leon cleared his throat and straightened up. "It's a long story. Actually..."

He began recounting everything in detail. Athena listened intently, her expression gradually shifting as she absorbed it all.

"So... your consciousness was accidentally thrown here, and that's how you met her?"

"Exactly." Leon nodded slowly, a quiet sigh of relief escaping his lips.

The jealousy and anger in Athena's eyes slowly faded, replaced by a quiet sadness. She reached out and gently took Leon's hand in hers.

"She didn't hurt you, did she?" Athena asked, her voice laced with worry.

Altair: "..."

Moments ago, Altair had felt pure joy meeting Athena—her powerful descendant. She had been proud, confident that her legacy would live on through this woman.

But now… that joy had vanished, replaced by irritation and resentment.

She was Athena's progenitor, yet the younger woman showed her no respect at all.

Have the descendants of this generation forgotten their manners and respect for their elders?

Leon smiled and caressed Athena's cheek affectionately. "Don't worry, I'm fine. Besides, Altair's illusion didn't work on me."

At his confident words, Athena's concern melted away, replaced by relief.

"Good. I'm glad." She patted her huge chest, visibly reassured.

She held Leon's hand to her face and looked back at Altair. "Is the reason you summoned me to pass on your legacy?"

Though clearly irritated by Athena's blunt attitude, Altair took a breath and calmed herself, unwilling to be ruled by emotion.

"Yes, I want to give you my legacy," she replied flatly. "But I won't force you. The choice is yours."

No matter how much she longed to pass on her power, the decision ultimately rested with Athena—to accept or to refuse.

Surprisingly, Athena didn't hesitate in the slightest. She nodded immediately. "Alright, I accept."

Altair looked at her with doubt. "Are you serious? You're not even going to think it over? What if I'm some kind of imposter trying to harm you?"

"No need." Athena smiled and shook her head lightly. "Since Leon trusts you this much, I'll trust you too. Besides, I can feel my bloodline reacting to you—that's enough to prove you don't have any ill intentions toward me."

But there was something she didn't say aloud—her unwavering confidence in her own strength.

Even if Altair did harbor dark intentions toward her or Leon, Athena wouldn't be the least bit shaken.

She was the strongest dragon in the world. Nothing could make her flinch. That was the foundation of her pride.

Altair couldn't help but smile. Her admiration for Athena grew even stronger. In truth, she had nearly given up hope.

Leon wasn't her descendant, so he could never inherit the legacy she carried.

At the time, it seemed her only option was to let the power she had guarded for so many years fade into nothingness.

Of course, that was the last thing she wanted—but she had no other choice.

Fortunately, Athena's arrival gave her new hope.

Not only that—Athena possessed the purest and most powerful dragon bloodline Altair had ever seen. And the purer the blood, the greater the ability to absorb the legacy she intended to pass on.

"Then, let's begin the inheritance ceremony," Altair said, rising to her feet with visible excitement.

Athena gave a small nod, then turned to Leon beside her. "You don't mind if I accept the inheritance, do you, Leon?"

Leon blinked in surprise, then let out a soft laugh.

"What are you talking about, Athena?" He rose to his feet, a playful grin on his face as he pinched her cheek. "Why would I mind? If anything, I'm happy—and excited. The stronger you are, the better it is for me, right?"

His words brought a warm smile to Athena's face. She leaned into his touch, her voice gentle. "You're right, Leon."

As Altair watched the exchange between them, a moment of silence fell over her. A strange, distant feeling stirred in her chest—tinged with longing and quiet envy.

"If only Leon had been born in my era..." she murmured with a faint, bitter smile, "perhaps I would've never known loneliness."

***

Just a short distance from where they had been talking, Athena sat cross-legged on the ground.

"Are you ready?" Altair asked, standing behind her with a serious expression.

Athena gave a small nod. "Yes, I'm ready."

"Close your eyes," Altair instructed, placing her palm gently on Athena's head.

Moments later, a soft green light began to glow from Altair's hand, gradually spreading across Athena's body.

A sharp pain crept through Athena's flesh, nerves, and bones—but she endured it, gritting her teeth, unwilling to show any sign of weakness.

After a while, the light faded, and Altair slowly withdrew her hand.

"Is Athena alright?"

Leon stepped forward, concern in his eyes as he looked at Athena.

She remained seated, cross-legged, her eyes still closed as if deep in meditation.

"She's fine," Altair said softly. "Once the inheritance is complete, she'll wake up on her own."

But just moments after she spoke, a faint white glow began to emit from Altair's body.

Leon's eyes widened in shock. "Altair… What's happening to you?"
