A slender figure sat up in bed, moonlight streaming through the window. His golden hair shimmered slightly, framing an inhumanly handsome face.

"It's been two years." Naruto stretched, his muscles flexing. "Staying cooped up at home all this time… I'm starting to rust."

For the past two years, Naruto had mostly remained at home, completing system-assigned tasks. Occasionally, he met up with Hinata to increase her favorability towards him, but his presence in the village had all but faded to the lowest possible level. Danzo's relentless attempts to stir resentment against the Nine-Tails had no effect—how could the villagers hate someone they barely ever saw? Time had dulled their memories, their fear gradually fading.

At first, the Third Hokage worried that Danzo's oppression would drive Naruto into depression. For a while, Hiruzen checked on him daily, fearing a repeat of Sakumo Hatake's fate. However, he soon realized Naruto wasn't suffering—he was simply sleeping his days away. At first, Hiruzen tried persuading him to be more active, but after repeated failures, he gave up. In the end, the most important thing about a weapon of mass destruction was deterrence—not how often it was used. As long as Naruto remained alive, that was enough.

Naruto glanced out the window, eyes narrowing. It's about time I stretch my legs. Today is the last major event at the beginning of the plot.

Konoha's night felt more ominous than usual. The massive moon seemed to glow with a faint blood-red hue. In the depths of the Forest of Death, several figures clashed, detonating tags exploding in fiery bursts of smoke.

A shadow moved stealthily on the outskirts of the battle.

"Tch. I'm late. Looks like I miscalculated. Danzo has already used Izanagi to take Shisui's right eye."

Naruto sighed. He had intended to ambush Danzo and snatch the eye for himself, but his timing had been off. Shisui's right Mangekyō had already fallen into Danzo's hands.

"Damn. I rarely leave my house, and the one time I do, I screw up. What a waste of a trip."

Before he could leave, a handful of kunai whistled through the air, aiming straight for him. Naruto tilted his head slightly, letting the kunai sail past his face, embedding themselves deep into a tree.

A figure emerged from the shadows—a man wrapped in bandages, his right eye and arm concealed.

"Who are you?" Danzo asked, his lone eye locked onto Naruto.

Naruto blinked innocently. What's with the effort? He had worried about losing Kotoamatsukami, and now Danzo was offering himself up on a silver platter.

"Me?" Naruto smirked. "I'm Luffy, the man who will become the Bandit King!"

Before Danzo could react, Naruto pulled out a kunai and lunged.

Danzo's eye widened. So fast!

With a burst of speed, Naruto vanished from Danzo's sight. The old war hawk instinctively leaped backward, barely avoiding the electrified fist that had been aimed at his chest.

"Lightning Release Armor?! You're from Kumo?!" Danzo barked, preparing a counterattack.

Naruto grinned. "No, no. Don't be ridiculous. I told you—I'm the man who'll get the One Piece!"

With a roar, he activated the Fifth Gate. His speed instantly doubled, his body a blur as he appeared behind Danzo.

A pained cough escaped Danzo's lips as a hand pierced through his chest. Blood splattered onto the ground.

"Who… the hell are you…?"

"I told you. My name is Monkey D. Luffy. And I'm going to be the King of the Pirates!" Naruto snickered.

Danzo coughed up more blood. "You just said Bandit King earlier!"

"Ah, don't sweat the details." Naruto hummed, retrieving a scroll from Danzo's robe. "Ah, there it is~ Kotoamatsukami, secured."

However, Danzo's body suddenly dissolved into mist. His real self reappeared behind Naruto, a kunai stabbing into his back.

"Fool. You have much to learn."

Naruto grinned through the blood dripping from his mouth. "Is that so?"

With a puff!, his body transformed into a wooden log.

"Impossible! You had no time to weave signs!" Danzo gasped.

Naruto, now perched on a tree branch, smirked.

"Well, Lord Danzo, I'll be taking my leave. Thanks for the gift." He waved, vanishing in a flicker of lightning.

"Bastard! Stop him!" Danzo roared.

At that moment, several masked Root operatives appeared, kneeling before their leader.

"Did you retrieve Kotoamatsukami?" Danzo demanded.

"Apologies, Lord Danzo. Shisui was rescued."

Danzo's face twisted in fury. "Useless! First that damn brat, now this!" He clenched his fists. "Tomorrow, send operatives to Kumogakure. Find a taijutsu specialist named Luffy! I want him dead!"

Meanwhile, Shisui, now in Itachi's arms, let out a bitter sigh.

"I had hoped to use Kotoamatsukami to prevent the Uchiha coup… but Danzo stole my eye. Konoha is no longer safe for me."

He handed his remaining eye to Itachi.

"I entrust this to you. Protect our clan's will, Itachi… This is my farewell gift."

With those final words, Shisui leaped off the cliff.
