Naruto: I'm Really Not an Evil Uchiha!

Chapter 90: Preliminary Research on the Power of Moryo

Shimizu often left only shadow clones working at the Konoha Hospital while his real body remained idle. On some days, he spent less than half an hour at the hospital.

His purpose in coming to the hospital was to legally access its resources. However, expending extensive effort for these resources was unwise. With shadow clones, why bother going personally?

The Uchiha Compound, Shimizu Residence

Beneath his bedroom, Shimizu had specially dug out a secret chamber.

Using Earth Release techniques, he created a simple space filled with many cages.

"Squeak, squeak..."

Shimizu poured newly acquired white mice into the cages.

The mice huddled in fear, shrinking into the corners and trembling as they pressed tightly against one another.

He casually grabbed one and placed it on the table in the middle of the chamber, securing it with specialized tools.

These white mice were primitive creatures, driven by mere animal instincts and lacking intelligence, not even as clever as pigeons.

Shimizu took out a specially crafted glass vial from a sealing scroll. Inside it was the power of Moryo, which he had stored using Dark Medical Ninjutsu.

This storage method significantly slowed the power's decay, keeping it in a stable, active state.

He pried open the mouse's mouth and let a strand of sticky black mist flow into it.

At the same time, his fingertip flickered with black light, guiding the Moryo power through the mouse's meridian system.

Following a technique recorded in Dark Medical Ninjutsu, he gradually merged the power of Moryo with the mouse.

As he continued guiding the Moryo power, his eyes had long turned pure white. Upon closer inspection, one could distinguish the difference between his irises and sclera—his pupils were a deeper hue tinged with faint purple.

The Byakugan's unique ability to see through surfaces made his experiment progress smoothly.

With the ability to observe the internal structure externally, there was no need for sensory ninjutsu or the cumbersome process of cutting flesh for visual inspection.

However, the Byakugan's medical potential remained untapped.

If medical-nin possessed the Byakugan, their healing abilities would be greatly enhanced since they could directly target damaged cells for repair.

Unfortunately, the Hyuga Clan's rigid feudal traditions prevented this. To date, Shimizu had never seen a medical-nin with Byakugan in Konoha Hospital.

"Squeak... squeak!"

When the Moryo power fully merged with the mouse, it suddenly became restless, thrashing in panic and squealing in terror.

Shimizu calmly placed a glass cover over it to observe its reaction.

One minute... two minutes...

A small bulge appeared on the mouse's stomach, then expanded into a lump, swelling rapidly like a tumor inflating like a balloon.

Pop!

When the lump grew twice the size of the mouse's body, it burst, scattering blood and flesh across the glass cover, coating it in a layer of red mist.

"The Moryo power caused the mouse's cells to transform into a cancer-like state, reproducing endlessly until they reached the body's limit and self-destructed."

Shimizu recorded the result of the first experiment.

Such research was highly rudimentary—a mere preliminary test. To obtain more accurate data, he would need additional specimens and standardized Moryo power units.

Swoosh!

Water waves surged from Shimizu's hand, cleaning the glass cover.

He created five shadow clones simultaneously, each selecting a mouse to continue further experiments.

The Hyuga Clan, Branch Family

The branch and main families of the Hyuga Clan lived in the same area. However, due to the division between the two, half of the space was designated for the main family and the other half for the branch family, with separate sleeping quarters.

Despite this distinction, outsiders referred to this entire area as the Hyuga Clan's compound, similar to how the Uchiha Clan all lived in a unified region.

Under the blazing sun, most members of the Hyuga Clan were resting under trees or inside houses to escape the heat.

"Natsu!"

Hyuga Tokuma called out loudly to Hyuga Natsu.

His appearance had changed significantly from a few years ago. Years of rigorous training had greatly developed his physique, making him noticeably taller than Natsu.

"What is it, Tokuma?"

Natsu turned around, her short dark green hair fluttering in the wind, carrying a faint fragrance—whether from shampoo or naturally, was unclear.

"I'm about to go to the battlefield! I got an excellent score!"

Tokuma excitedly handed Natsu a list.

Due to a previous incident involving Shimizu, he had resolved to train seriously.

He began a grueling routine, waking up at five in the morning and going to bed at one past midnight.

This relentless effort gradually turned his mediocre talent into one of the top performances at the Ninja Academy, allowing him to graduate early.

Now, with the war ongoing, he was eager to prove himself on the battlefield.

"Congratulations, Tokuma."

Natsu was genuinely happy for her childhood friend. Though they had once had disagreements, time had gradually mended their bond.

"Your hand…"

Tokuma's eyes caught sight of Natsu's wrist, which was partially exposed from her sleeve. A large patch of red swelling was visible, with the skin clearly inflamed.

Natsu hurriedly pulled her sleeve down to cover the burn.

"Was it... the lady again?"

Tokuma's voice was bitter and heavy.

"I accidentally spilled tea. It's only natural for the lady to punish me," Natsu said with a smile, her eyes squinting as if she didn't mind. However, the redness at the corners of her eyes betrayed her true feelings.

Tokuma understood. It was unlikely to be as simple as Natsu made it sound. Most likely, the lady had poured scalding tea directly onto her wrist due to a minor annoyance.

This wasn't the first time something like this had happened.

"The main family is just too much," Tokuma said indignantly.

Both were part of the Hyuga Clan, so why were some born noble while others were treated as inferior?

Natsu's pure white eyes quietly observed Tokuma. Whenever she was punished by Hyuga Ginka, Tokuma would always complain on her behalf.

It made her feel a bit better, and she smiled as she said, "Alright, stop talking about the lady. If someone overhears, we'll get punished again."

"Who cares!" Tokuma shouted.

"This is the branch family. Unless some other branch member tattles, the main family won't know."

As he spoke, his voice gradually softened.

He suddenly remembered that if someone really did report them, it would be disastrous.

The last time he spoke carelessly, Shimizu overheard it, and not only did he get beaten, but he also suffered a harsh punishment from Hyuga Ginka upon returning.

Natsu could see Tokuma's changing expressions reflected in her eyes, revealing his faltering resolve.

She knew her childhood friend had become fearful, and it left a small twinge of disappointment in her heart.
