Naruto: Saving the Universe by Stealing Attributes

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: The One Thing I Hate Most Is Talking Reason

Uchiha Mirai glanced at Namikaze Minato with a hint of surprise, not expecting such insight from him.

Minato scratched his head awkwardly. "When I aspired to become Hokage, I ended up thinking about a lot of things along the way..."

Mirai waved dismissively, unbothered.

He turned to Minato, a confident smile forming on his face.

"Minato, do you think my ambitions are limited to just the shinobi world?"

Minato blinked in confusion, unable to understand how "limited" and "shinobi world" could connect.

"What do you mean?"

Mirai pointed to the sky. "My goal is the stars and the universe. Compared to the boundless cosmos, our shinobi world is nothing more than a grain of sand in a vast ocean."

"To shepherd the universe—that is my ultimate aim."

"Shepherd... the universe?!"

Both Minato and Uzumaki Kushina were dumbstruck.

Their limited knowledge couldn't grasp the meaning behind Mirai's words.

The vast shinobi world, just a speck of sand in the cosmos?

No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't wrap their minds around it.

Seeing their puzzled expressions, Mirai decided not to elaborate.

Explaining this would take time—time he didn't have right now.

"That's for the future. You'll understand eventually," Mirai said with a wave. "As for the current internal and external threats..."

He paused, his tone growing serious. "In the depths of space exists a clan known as the Ōtsutsuki."

"Sooner or later, they'll descend upon our world with the goal of destroying it."

"Once the shinobi world is unified, we will stand as one to fend off the Ōtsutsuki's invasion."

After listening to Mirai's explanation, Minato and Kushina remained in a daze.

It took them a moment before they could open their dry mouths.

"Mirai, what is this Ōtsutsuki clan?"

Mirai didn't answer directly. Instead, he asked, "You've heard of the Sage of Six Paths, right?"

Finally, a name they recognized. Minato and Kushina immediately nodded.

"The mother of the Sage of Six Paths is known as the Rabbit Goddess, the progenitor of chakra."

"And she... was a member of the Ōtsutsuki clan. Her name was Ōtsutsuki Kaguya."

Minato and Kushina exchanged shocked glances, their eyes reflecting mutual disbelief.

The Sage of Six Paths' mother was the Rabbit Goddess?

And her real name was Ōtsutsuki Kaguya?

But what kind of clan was the Ōtsutsuki?

Mirai continued, "I'll provide more details about the Ōtsutsuki after we unify the shinobi world. For now, just know that my actions have been carefully thought out."

"Our current priority is the unification of the shinobi world."

Hearing this, Minato and Kushina both took a deep breath.

If what Mirai said was true, then the implications were terrifying.

The Sage of Six Paths' mother's clan must be unimaginably powerful. If such beings aimed to destroy the shinobi world...

Minato asked solemnly, "Mirai, how do you know all this?"

Mirai pointed to his eyes, delivering a pre-prepared response.

"These eyes can see everything."

"And my name is—Mirai. The future."

(T/N: Mirai (未来) is a Japanese word meaning "future.")

Minato and Kushina nodded silently.

After everything they'd experienced, the idea that Mirai could foresee the future didn't seem far-fetched at all.

This explanation even made sense of how he had manipulated Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura so effortlessly.

Now that they thought about it, Mirai indeed seemed capable of knowing what was yet to come.

Like when Kushina gave birth to Naruto—Mirai had negotiated with Kurama in advance, preventing the mysterious masked man from immediately unleashing the Nine-Tails on Konoha.

Minato declared firmly, "Mirai, I will follow your orders unconditionally from now on!"

Kushina chimed in, "Me too!"

If Mirai could see the future, then his orders likely influenced the course of events. Even if they couldn't understand his instructions, they had to obey them resolutely.

Mirai hadn't anticipated such an unexpected bonus. He nodded, smiling as he accepted their loyalty.

After lunch, Mirai parted ways with Minato and Kushina.

Though Kushina's cooking couldn't hold a candle to Mikoto's, Mirai didn't dwell on it.

With a toothpick in his mouth, he leisurely strolled through the streets—until something caught his eye.

A woman with a massive weapon strapped to her back walked out of a gambling hall, looking dejected.

"Tsunade?"

At the sound of his voice, Tsunade froze. Without turning around, she vanished using the Body Flicker Technique.

"Hmph!"

Mirai snorted and disappeared as well.

Before long, he cornered Tsunade in the forest atop the Hokage Rock.

With a grin, Mirai said, "Tsunade, running away the moment you see me is a bit rude, don't you think?"

Tsunade scowled. "Brat, who taught you to address your elders by name? Where are your manners?"

Mirai chuckled. "Other than owing me money, we don't have much of a relationship."

"And calling the Hokage a 'brat'? I'd say you're the one lacking manners."

Tsunade rolled her eyes, unwilling to argue further.

"What do you want?"

"You seem to have forgotten something."

"Forgotten what?"

Feigning ignorance, Tsunade crossed her arms.

Mirai reminded her, "You borrowed thirty million ryō from me, promising to return it in a month."

"That month has passed. Where's my money?"

Tsunade feigned shock, taking a few steps back.

"Money? What money?"

Mirai remained calm, his voice gentle. "You borrowed it in the Hokage's office. Surely a month isn't long enough for you to forget?"

Tsunade planted her hands on her hips and snorted.

"If I borrowed money, then show me the IOU."

"No IOU, no repayment."

Mirai's eyes glinted dangerously. "So, you're planning to default on the debt?"

Tsunade stood her ground. "I'm just being reasonable."

"Reasonable? Then you've picked the wrong person to reason with." Mirai's smile turned cold.

"Because the one thing I hate most... is talking reason."
