Chapter 522: Chapter 522: The Relentless Thunder of the Third Raikage

For someone as ruthless and powerful as the Third Raikage, slaughtering White Zetsu was no more challenging than crushing ants.

Even without activating his Thunder Release Chakra Mode, White Zetsu's attacks were little more than an irritating tickle. In full battle mode, he was unstoppable—a rampaging storm wielding both the strongest spear and the strongest shield in the ninja world. Against the White Zetsu army, the battlefield seemed like an uninhabited land as he plowed through, leaving devastation in his wake.

The sight of the Third Raikage carving a blank path through the densely packed White Zetsu army left the cannon fodder unit behind him stunned and speechless.

"Kill!!!"

Someone among the group finally shouted, perhaps emboldened by the Raikage's unstoppable momentum. The cry echoed, igniting the morale of the entire unit.

The once hesitant group found their blood surging. Shouting together, they charged forward in unison toward the White Zetsu army.

From his vantage point above the battlefield, Uchiha Madara observed the scene with a faint smile.

"This guy is impressive. Much better than his two predecessors," Madara remarked, offering rare praise for the Third Raikage.

Indeed, compared to the First and Second Raikage, the Third Raikage's strength and resolve were unmatched. History would remember him as the strongest Raikage.

Black Zetsu, standing at Madara's side, remained silent for a moment before cautiously speaking. "Madara-sama, enemies of his caliber won't be easy to deal with."

"Not easy? Perhaps," Madara replied, his calm tone tinged with mockery. His laughter carried an unmistakable air of disdain. To him, the Third Raikage—impressive as he was—was ultimately insignificant. Only Senju Hashirama had ever truly earned Madara's respect.

Realizing there was no point in continuing, Black Zetsu fell silent. Madara's arrogance was well-founded, but it still rankled. From the start, Madara's eyes had been fixed solely on Hashirama, dismissing all others as beneath his notice.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield, the White Zetsu army continued its relentless assault. Though the cannon fodder unit fought valiantly, their numbers were insignificant compared to the overwhelming tide of White Zetsu.

Thankfully, reinforcements arrived as planned. Two legions of the coalition forces swept in from the flanks, providing much-needed support. The coalition had decided not to wait passively for the enemy but to take the fight directly to the White Zetsu army.

Leading the charge alongside the cannon fodder unit were Onoki, the Third Kazekage, and Yagura. With the support of these formidable leaders, the coalition's morale surged. Despite being heavily outnumbered, they succeeded in halting the White Zetsu advance at the border of the Land of Earth.

The battlefield had shifted to the Land of Taki, much to the dismay of the Takigakure residents. Watching their homeland turned into a warzone, they could only grumble in silence. With all four Kage present and the White Zetsu invasion coming from their direction, there was no room for protest.

Back at the coalition's high ground, Shinki stood alongside Orochimaru, observing the unfolding battle below.

"The coalition's offensive is fierce, but it won't last long," Orochimaru remarked, his analytical mind quickly identifying the issue. "Fatigue will set in. Physical strength and chakra have limits, and most of these ninjas aren't built for prolonged combat."

"It'll last an hour at most," Shinki replied calmly, offering a realistic estimate.

Orochimaru nodded in agreement, then turned to Shinki with a sly smile. "Aren't you going to intervene?"

Shinki shrugged. "What's the point of showing my hand this early? This is a war for the entire ninja world, not a one-man performance. If the coalition starts to crumble, then I'll step in."

"Is that so?" Orochimaru chuckled, clearly unconvinced but unwilling to press further. For him, the war was merely a means to an end. As long as he achieved his goals, the rest didn't matter.

While Shinki focused on strategy, Orochimaru's mind was already calculating his next move. The battlefield is teeming with White Zetsu—perfect material for experimentation. He discreetly prepared to collect samples. White Zetsu's unique biology made them ideal subjects, easily sealed and preserved without the risk of decay.

As for Kakuzu? Orochimaru grinned to himself. He won't escape me.

Down on the battlefield, Kakuzu suddenly shivered. Glancing around warily, he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him.

Just as Shinki had predicted, the coalition's momentum began to wane after less than an hour. Even with the rotating tactics of attack and defense, exhaustion took its toll. The Third Raikage continued fighting with seemingly endless energy, but normal ninjas weren't built like him. For most, lasting ten minutes in combat was an achievement.

The unrelenting White Zetsu army, with its sheer numbers and lack of fear, was beginning to push back. As ninjas tired and their chakra reserves depleted, the tide of battle threatened to turn.

At that critical moment, new developments unfolded on the coalition's side. Fresh reinforcements were arriving, and the coalition prepared to unveil their next move.
