Chapter 139: Chapter 139: The Truth About Rouran

After realizing she had traveled back in time, TenTen began piecing together what she knew about the legends of time-space ninjutsu. Among the most famous practitioners was Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, renowned for his mastery of the Flying Raijin technique.

TenTen often admired the Hokage Rock with Kirito, marveling at the Fourth Hokage's legacy. So, when Minato removed his mask, she instantly recognized him. Despite the extraordinary circumstances, she trusted her intuition—this was undoubtedly the future Hokage.

"Impossible! The current Hokage of Konoha is Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage," Shibi objected.

Choza chuckled. "If they're from the future, that explains it."

"Enough!" Minato interjected, his tone firm. "Excessive interaction with people from the future could irreparably disrupt the timeline. Let's focus on the mission."

"Yes, sir!" TenTen reluctantly set aside her excitement, though her admiration for Minato was evident.

Minato smiled faintly and redirected their attention. "Our mission is to protect Princess Sara and eliminate Anrokuzan. From your earlier battle, it's clear you're highly skilled. We'd like you to take responsibility for guarding the princess."

"As for Anrokuzan, we know this era better and will handle him. Let's collaborate to achieve our shared goal."

"Understood," TenTen replied enthusiastically. Guarding Princess Sara under Minato's orders was an honor she couldn't pass up. Kirito nodded in agreement.

A Plan in Motion

Shibi turned to Kirito and asked, "Those eyes… Are you from the Hyuga clan? Could you use them to locate Anrokuzan?"

"Of course," Kirito replied. Activating his Byakugan, he scanned the area for any hidden chambers or signs of their target.

After a thorough search, he deactivated his Byakugan and reported, "I see no trace of Anrokuzan within several kilometers."

Minato nodded thoughtfully. "In that case, he must be operating from a remote location, controlling his puppets from afar. I have an idea of where he might be. We'll investigate it. Princess Sara is in your care."

Minato handed a kunai to TenTen, its blade marked with his signature sealing formula. "This kunai bears my Flying Raijin mark. If you're in danger, I'll be there instantly."

TenTen accepted the kunai reverently, her fascination with weaponry evident. "I… I wonder if I could keep this as a souvenir…" she murmured, running her fingers over the intricate seals.

Kirito smirked. "You can ask Minato later. Right now, focus—the princess is sneaking off."

"What?!" TenTen turned to see Princess Sara slipping away. "Wait for me!" she called, running after her.

Chasing Princess Sara

Sara, realizing she couldn't outrun them, picked up her pace. "Stop following me! I don't trust you! I'll find Anrokuzan myself!"

"You're heading straight into danger!" TenTen retorted, closing the distance.

Distracted, Sara turned and ran directly into TenTen, who steadied her. Kirito stood by, observing silently.

"Why do you trust Anrokuzan so much?" TenTen asked, exasperated.

Sara hesitated, then reluctantly explained. "Six years ago, Anrokuzan came to my mother with knowledge of how to harness the Dragon Vein's power to rebuild Rouran. Under his guidance, our kingdom thrived. After my mother passed, he became my most trusted advisor, always advocating for peace."

TenTen frowned. "Could we be wrong about Mukade?" she wondered aloud.

Kirito's smirk deepened. "Why not find out for yourself?"

Suspicious, TenTen glared at him. "You already know something, don't you?"

"I have a theory," Kirito admitted cryptically. "But discovering the truth yourself will be more satisfying. Besides, I'm here to ensure your safety."

Sighing, TenTen conceded. "Fine. If we don't uncover the truth by tomorrow night, I'll leave it to you."

Overhearing their confidence, Sara scoffed. "You won't find anything. Anrokuzan has always been loyal."

Unexpected Revelations

Reluctantly, Sara led them back to the grand tower where Anrokuzan resided. As they walked, TenTen asked, "Why did you fall from the balcony earlier?"

Sara's expression darkened. "I… I'm not sure. It felt like I was pushed. But why would anyone want to harm me? The people here are happy… aren't they?"

TenTen exchanged a glance with Kirito. "Are you certain you know what's really happening?" she pressed.

"What do you mean?"

"The people in Rouran," TenTen said bluntly. "They're puppets."

Sara froze, her face pale. "That… that can't be true!"

Before they could elaborate, a door swung open, and a slender arm reached out from the shadows, grabbing Sara.

Kirito reacted instantly, catching the wrist with unyielding strength. The figure in the darkness struggled, but Kirito's grip didn't falter.

TenTen stepped forward, kunai in hand. "Who are you?"

"Don't hurt us! We're not enemies!" the figure pleaded, stepping into the light. A group of masked individuals emerged, filling the corridor.

Sara stared in disbelief. "Are you the ones who tried to push me? Why?"

One of the masked figures, a woman, removed her hood, revealing a weary face. "My name is Mako. We've come seeking justice."

The others followed suit, removing their masks to reveal faces of desperation—women and children.

"Justice?" Sara asked, bewildered. "What do you mean?"

Mako's voice trembled with emotion. "We demand the return of our loved ones!"

"Return them!" the crowd echoed, their voices filled with anguish.

Sara's confusion deepened. "What are you talking about? What happened to your loved ones?"

At that moment, the weight of Rouran's secrets began to unravel.
