Naruto: Transmigrated as Obito with the System

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Rise Again

Hidan wiped the saliva off his scythe, slinging it onto his shoulder with a disgruntled expression.

"Ugh! But it sounds like such a pain!"

"…"

Obito remained silent, staring at Hidan with a mix of exasperation and bemusement. For some reason, Hidan's personality reminded him of a certain pineapple-headed someone...

Kakuzu's green eyes glinted as he turned to Obito and asked in a low voice, "What's the share for each of us?"

Obito pondered for a moment before answering, "Each of you is responsible for capturing one jinchūriki. I've already made arrangements based on your individual abilities."

"Kakuzu and Hidan, you'll handle the Two-Tails and the Seven-Tails. Sasori and Deidara, you'll take on the One-Tail and the Five-Tails. Kisame, gather a few capable individuals from the village to capture the Six-Tails. Any objections?"

Kisame bared his sharp teeth in a sinister grin. "No complaints here, Obito-san."

Obito's gaze swept across the group. Once everyone nodded in agreement, he finally relaxed.

"Remember, the jinchūriki must be captured alive. Do not kill them," he emphasized, a warning laced in his tone.

He wasn't about to let his subordinates' brutality ruin his plans. If they killed the jinchūriki, his dream of combining the Susanoo and the Buddha would remain forever out of reach.

Unsurprisingly, Hidan scowled. "Why do they have to be alive? Such a hassle!"

Kakuzu cast a glance at Hidan and spoke in his usual monotone. "If a jinchūriki dies, the tailed beast within them disappears. Just listen to the leader."

Obito nodded slightly in Kakuzu's direction before continuing. "For now, focus on intelligence gathering. We'll launch the operation in a month. Once you've captured the jinchūriki, bring them back to the village. Leave the rest to me."

With that, Obito allowed a faint smile to curve his lips, his gaze flitting toward an unnoticed corner.

As expected, a certain snake had taken the bait, eavesdropping on the meeting. Although Orochimaru believed himself to be well-hidden, he couldn't escape Obito's perceptive abilities.

Curiosity killed the snake, Orochimaru, Obito mused with a smirk.

Later that night, within a heavily guarded room, a small white snake slithered past numerous defenses, silently entering the space.

The snake transformed into a humanoid figure and began searching the room. In a concealed compartment, the figure discovered a notebook.

(Write your name in it!)

Flipping through the pages, they found that the notebook was mostly blank, with several pages in the front torn out.

Undeterred, the figure traced the faint indentations left on the paper, trying to reconstruct the missing content.

"Nine Tailed Beasts… Ten-Tails… Land of Rivers… base…"

The fragmented words alone were enough to make the figure's eyes shine with excitement.

"Heh… Seems I've stumbled upon a rather juicy secret," Orochimaru hissed, a wicked grin spreading across his face.

Twenty days later, Orochimaru entered Obito's room, holding two scrolls with a deferential air.

"Obito-sama, I have fulfilled your request without fail," he said, stepping forward and presenting the scrolls.

Taking the scrolls, Obito patted Orochimaru's shoulder with satisfaction.

"Well done, Orochimaru. As promised…"

Obito retrieved another scroll from his robes and tossed it to Orochimaru.

"This is for you—information on the Kaguya clan."

Orochimaru's eyes glimmered with delight as he caught the scroll.

Just what I needed! he thought. This might hold the key to curing that child's illness.

Still, a shadow of doubt lingered. But where did Uchiha Obito even get this information?

Not just the Kaguya clan's secrets—Obito seemed to know everything, from Kimimaro's illness to Orochimaru's innermost ambitions.

It's as if I'm completely exposed before him, without a shred of privacy. I must find a way to exploit his weaknesses, or I'll never break free from his control! Orochimaru resolved silently.

After obtaining the Gold and Silver Brothers' summoning scrolls, Obito soon left.

Seizing the opportunity, Orochimaru retreated to a secluded lab outside the village.

"Obito's been busy gathering intel on the Four-Tails' jinchūriki. Most likely, he's hunting Roshi next," Orochimaru mused, recalling the contents of the notebook.

"Hmph. Ambitious little brat… More daring than me, even. Challenging the entire ninja world to capture the jinchūriki and summon the Ten-Tails… Obito, just how far will you go? Fascinating."

As he murmured, Orochimaru meticulously prepared two Edo Tensei arrays on the floor.

Heading to an adjacent chamber, he retrieved two unconscious bodies—former subordinates who had willingly offered themselves for his experiments.

Orochimaru had grafted Hashirama's cells into these bodies, crafting ideal vessels for the Edo Tensei.

Placing the bodies at the arrays' centers, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

"Your sacrifices won't be in vain!" he declared, pulling out two scrolls with fervent intensity.

"Because you two will house the ninja world's greatest souls!"

Spreading the scrolls open, Orochimaru formed a series of hand seals and exclaimed, "Edo Tensei!"

Dark seals lit up as countless talismans enveloped the two bodies, forming cocoons of paper.

With a loud rustle, the paper receded, revealing two figures clad in cracked, dust-covered armor.

The oppressive aura they exuded was overwhelming, even in their incomplete states.

One stood tall, with long black hair and piercing eyes. He wore a black combat suit beneath red lamellar armor, the emblem of the Senju Clan engraved on his shoulder.

The First Hokage, Senju Hashirama.

The other had silver hair and red eyes, his striking face marked by three crimson streaks. Clad in a black suit and blue lamellar armor trimmed with white fur, he emanated an equally formidable presence.

The Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama.
