Naruto: Transmigrated as Obito with the System

Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Hashirama, Tobirama

Through the summoning of a spiritual contract, the souls of Hashirama and Tobirama were drawn into their Edo Tensei vessels.

In the next instant, the lifeless eyes of their Edo bodies suddenly regained their brilliance.

The Edo Tensei was complete!

As stagnant thoughts began to flow again, the brothers gradually regained their consciousness. They flexed their stiff bodies and surveyed their surroundings with curiosity.

When Hashirama's gaze fell on his younger brother, Tobirama, he spoke.

"Tobirama, what's going on here?"

Edo Tensei, being Tobirama's creation, meant he immediately understood their predicament.

"Brother," Tobirama explained, "it seems we've been resurrected in this world."

Hashirama mused, "Edo Tensei, huh? It looks like no matter the world, war always finds a way to persist…"

Turning, Tobirama noticed the pale, snake-like man standing behind them.

"Young man," Tobirama said with a hint of intrigue, "was it you who used a forbidden technique to summon my brother and me?"

"You're quite something!" he added with a trace of admiration.

As the creator of Edo Tensei, Tobirama was confident he could break free from the caster's control at any time. Relaxing slightly, he decided to indulge in a conversation with this mysterious summoner. After all, being brought back to the world of the living was a rare experience.

The snake-like man—Orochimaru—licked his lips and said, "Tobirama-sama, your jutsu wasn't particularly difficult. Frankly, you should never have created Edo Tensei in the first place."

Hashirama nodded in agreement. "That's not a good jutsu, Tobirama. I told you back then—"

"Brother, stop nagging me!" Tobirama interrupted with a sharp glare. "I'm trying to talk to him!"

"But Tobirama—"

"Quiet!" Tobirama snapped, folding his arms.

"Oh…" Hashirama immediately wilted, his bright demeanor dimming into what resembled a black-and-white sketch.

Orochimaru let out a sinister laugh. He hadn't expected the legendary God of Shinobi to behave so… unlike his reputation.

Amused, Hashirama's attention shifted to Orochimaru. His colors returned as he tilted his head and asked, "By the way… who are you, young man?"

With a slight bow, Orochimaru introduced himself politely, "My apologies for the oversight, First Hokage-sama, Second Hokage-sama. I am Orochimaru, a student of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen."

Hearing this, Hashirama's eyes lit up in surprise.

"Oh? So Sarutobi is the Hokage now?" He sighed nostalgically. "I suppose I've been dead for quite a long time…"

Orochimaru respectfully replied, "Yes, First Hokage-sama. It's currently Year 55 of the Hidden Leaf Calendar. Sarutobi-sensei has already retired, and the village is now led by the Fourth Hokage."

A faint smile appeared on Tobirama's face. It seemed Sarutobi hadn't let him down, ensuring the continued growth of Konohagakure. But as he thought of Sarutobi's "devoted" student, who had resurrected them with such blatant disregard, Tobirama's expression quickly darkened.

"You," Tobirama said coldly, "as a member of Konoha, dare to misuse my jutsu and toy with our souls? Such audacity!"

Unfazed, Orochimaru smirked in a manner reminiscent of Uchiha Obito's cocky grin.

"My apologies, esteemed Hokage-sama, but I am no longer a shinobi of Konoha," Orochimaru said mockingly. "I summoned you here because I need you to accomplish something for me."

Tobirama scoffed, crossing his arms. "What an arrogant child. To think you can command us with such impudence."

Orochimaru's serpentine tongue flicked as he chuckled. "Under the control of my Edo Tensei, you will naturally obey my orders, Second Hokage-sama."

"Enough!" Tobirama barked, his chakra flaring violently. Blue energy spiraled around him, tearing through the walls.

"You seem to forget one crucial fact, Orochimaru."

Orochimaru's smirk deepened. "Oh? Please, enlighten me."

Tobirama sneered, exuding absolute confidence. "Edo Tensei is my creation. You cannot bind me!"

With that declaration, he shouted, "Break!"

But to his shock, he found himself unable to regain control of his body.

Tobirama tried again, yelling, "Break! Break!"

Watching his brother's struggle, Hashirama mused silently, If Tobirama weren't in an Edo body, his face would be crimson by now. Seems Sarutobi's student has some skill…

Still, as an elder brother, Hashirama couldn't let his sibling falter. He clapped a hand on Tobirama's shoulder and said earnestly, "Tobirama, are you sure you can do this?"

Tobirama's face flushed with frustration. "Break! Break! Damn it! Break!"

Hashirama laughed heartily. "Your senses are dull, Tobirama. He's strengthened the jutsu's hold using my cells."

"Damn it!" Tobirama growled, glaring at Orochimaru. His enhanced perception now confirmed it—the snake-like man's body was infused with his brother's cells.

"Enough reminiscing, Hokage-sama," Orochimaru said, cutting off their banter with a wicked grin.

"Though your current strength is but a fraction of your prime, I've ensured you'll serve my plans perfectly."

Before Tobirama could retort, his thoughts became muddled, his mind clouded by Orochimaru's influence. Both brothers fell silent, their brilliance dimmed by restricted thoughts.

Seeing them subdued, Orochimaru smiled in satisfaction.

"With their mental and physical limits in place, they're only at thirty or forty percent of their original power. But that's enough for my plan."

His long-awaited Konoha Crush was about to begin!
