Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Thus, Uchiha had no reason to attack Kakashi now.

"Inform Elder Yagami about this. Kakashi's genjutsu seems to be tied to the Sharingan. Let's see if he can help dispel it. Additionally, the Uchiha should be informed about Kakashi's Sharingan being taken."

The Third Hokage spoke decisively. With Kakashi unconscious, they couldn't risk invasive techniques like the Yamanaka clan's interrogation jutsu. For now, he had to let it be.

Still, the masked man's involvement couldn't be ignored. The Uchiha clan, having endured years of stigma due to the masked man, had a vested interest. If the Sharingan that had been formally acknowledged by Konoha was now stolen, the Uchiha couldn't remain passive.

Since directly mobilizing Uchiha's forces was not feasible, the situation would inevitably draw their attention.

Obito's thoughts raced back to the time when Danzo had previously taken Kakashi's eye, and it was only returned under pressure from both the Uchiha clan and the Third Hokage. It must have been replaced, then.

Danzo, wherever he was, scowled at the thought of being blamed for yet another crime. "Unbelievable," he muttered, "Of all the shadows I've cast over Konoha, this is the one thing I didn't do, and yet they suspect me!"
