Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Chapter 90: 90. The Turmoil In Konoha Begins!

"Are you sure you want to stay here? Didn't you want to stay away from the village before?"

Feeling Tsunade's gaze, Yagami coughed lightly and asked. Uchiha's transfer had been done in secrecy. Konoha might still have surveillance on the clan, but as long as they didn't make any big noise, it would go unnoticed. After all, Konoha had also suffered a lot when it came to monitoring the Uchiha.

Besides, Danzo and Orochimaru had caused quite a stir, and then Obito, the notorious traitor, also appeared. With these events as a distraction, the main force had already moved out.

Now, Konoha's attention was focused on defending against external threats. There wasn't much commotion from the Uchiha side, and the clan remained on the village's outskirts.

So far, in addition to Yagami and Fugaku, only Uchiha Takeshi and Osamu were left, as even the Fifth Elder had gone to the harbour pier.

"I do hate the darkness within the village, but that only involves the higher-ups. What's wrong with the villagers here?"

Tsunade sighed slightly.

Although she felt deep disappointment in Konoha, she still couldn't completely let go of this village in her heart.

The situation Konoha faced was very serious now.

Her staying wouldn't necessarily reverse the situation, but at least it gave her a bit of reassurance.

"Tsunade-sama is kind-hearted, and we Uchiha are humbled, but I still want to advise you. Given how you tremble at the sight of blood, you can't help Konoha or anyone else. You're Uchiha's chief medical advisor. If you break the contract, you'll have to pay compensation for liquidated damages."

Tsunade was unwilling to leave, and Yagami couldn't dissuade her. The medical team's development was already on the right track, and there weren't many situations that required Tsunade's guidance. Even if she left now, the Uchiha couldn't say anything.

"You b*****d, are you worried about me?"

Tsunade glanced at Yagami with a slightly amused tone.

"You already know the answer, so why ask? Uchiha is not cold-blooded; on the contrary, every Uchiha is a deeply emotional person. It's not just me—every Uchiha you've guided is concerned for your safety; they're just not good at expressing it."

Humans are not like grass and trees; they are not heartless.

During this time, Tsunade had gotten along very well with the Uchiha. Although the Uchiha and Senju were old enemies, that animosity belonged to a past generation. They had even shaken hands, made peace, and built a village together. The hatred had faded significantly by now.

Not to mention that the Senju clan no longer existed, and the family grudges had long been replaced by village rivalries.

"Thank you for your concern! When are you going to leave?"

Tsunade curled her lips, saying nothing more.

"Leave? I didn't say I was leaving. After all, this still belongs to Konoha in name. Uchiha still needs someone here. From now on, this place will be called the Uchiha Office in Konoha to handle some family matters."

Yagami grinned and said, once again ensuring Konoha had no grounds to accuse them. Although most of the Uchiha had gone to the harbour terminal, the clan hadn't abandoned Konoha. Nominally, they still belonged to Konoha.

"Anyway, there's no rule saying that a village's ninja clan must live within the village itself. If we Uchiha want to live somewhere else, no one can object! We're still in the Land of Fire, not living in other countries alongside other ninja villages."

"You really have... good intentions!"

The corner of Tsunade's mouth twitched involuntarily. She could already imagine her teacher's reaction once he learned about Uchiha's decisions.

Right now, Konoha urgently needed a strong fighting force. Yet, the Uchiha clan had chosen to move away. Although a few members remained, it was clear that Yagami wouldn't be involved in what happened next. His attitude made it obvious that whatever Konoha faced had nothing to do with Uchiha.

It would certainly rile up the Third Hokage!

But at this point, even if Konoha were dissatisfied with the Uchiha's actions, they couldn't do anything or even voice complaints.

If Yagami were provoked and he chose not to intervene, it would only add insult to injury. Konoha would then face not only external invasions but potentially the Uchiha's attacks as well.

Given the intensity of Yagami's attack on the mysterious man on Sixth Street, it was evident he wouldn't hesitate to act against others in the village.

Although no one spoke openly about it, there were many Konoha villagers who had fallen to Yagami on Sixth Street.

The higher-ups in the village might be at odds with the Uchiha, but it was the villagers who carried out their commands. Except for a few individuals, the Uchiha clan held little goodwill toward their fellow villagers.

"It's just passable! It is nowhere near as good as the announcement from Third Hokage-sama.

What happened with Danzo or Uchiha during the Nine-Tails Rebellion didn't matter to him.

With just a few words, he distanced himself from it all.

Most of it was pinned on Danzo.

That's the Hokage for you, a man hidden behind the scenes—those are true good intentions."

Yagami sneered.

After the Obito incident, the Hokage's office issued an announcement.

It detailed Danzo's wrongdoings, highlighted upcoming threats to Konoha, encouraged villagers to prepare for evacuation, and formally rectified the stigma placed on Uchiha for the Nine-Tails Rebellion, with a sincere apology issued by the Hokage on behalf of all of Konoha.

The announcement caused an uproar in the village. Naturally, the villagers didn't feel guilty for having wrongly blamed Uchiha for so long; they were only scared about the looming war.

Although Uchiha's vindication was part of the same announcement, it left little impression on the villagers. They saw it as a mere mistake in blame—something they could apologize for later.

Compared to the immediate threat of enemies invading the village and endangering their lives, it seemed insignificant!

This is why Yagami scoffed at the announcement. Third, Hokage and the village's top officials truly had "good intentions." If they didn't urgently need Uchiha's combat strength, Yagami even suspected the Nine Tails incident might never have been mentioned at all.

But the higher-ups in Konoha underestimated Uchiha far too much. Did they really think the Uchiha were like lap dogs? That they'd come running at a mere beck and call?

The problems they created were theirs to solve. The Uchiha would stay out of this mess, taking a lesson from Danzo. If something happened, they'd stand back and watch from afar.

"Boom!"

Just as Tsunade was about to respond, a loud noise erupted as smoke rose from the centre of the village, accompanied by the shockwaves of battle.

After Danzo's jailbreak and the mysterious man's invasion, the village had been quiet for several days, but that peace was now completely shattered.

Wood Style could stir the nerves of every ninja village. Although the shinobi world seemed peaceful on the surface, an undercurrent of tension was already brewing.
