One Piece : Captain, We’ve Arrived at Laugh Tale

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 : Zoro, Devil Training Begins

After hearing part of Luffy's past, neither Zoro nor Nami knew how to respond.

But Nami believed Carl's words, which made her feel more confident. She secretly wondered if Luffy could defeat the dragon.

Early the next morning, Luffy got up on time.

Normally, this wouldn't happen with his personality, but Carl was too terrifying—he had no choice but to wake up.

Seeing this, Zoro got up as well, curious to see how Carl trained Luffy.

"Luffy, our boat was too small before, so your training was put on hold for a few days.

Now that we have a bigger ship, training starts again today.

According to your daily physical routine, you need to do 10,000 squats and 10,000 push-ups.

It's convenient now—you can run 10 kilometers using Moonwalk.

And, of course, you can't slack off on your Armament Haki.

After your physical training, you'll fight me."

"Huh? Ah!"

Luffy was confused at first but quickly snapped back to reality.

Without waiting for Carl's orders, he put on a wristband and started squatting.

Carl smirked wickedly—the wristband was made of Seastone, which completely suppressed Luffy's Devil Fruit powers. Luffy had been training like this for a while and had gradually adapted to Seastone. As long as the Seastone content wasn't too high, it wouldn't affect him too much.

Of course, seawater was still an absolute weakness—an unchangeable rule of this world.

Zoro winced when he heard the training regimen. Forget Moonwalk and Armament Haki—just doing 10,000 squats and push-ups would be exhausting even for him.

Carl glanced at Zoro and grinned. "Zoro, I'm the trainer of the Straw Hat Pirates. If the captain is undergoing my training, the crew can't escape it either. Starting today, you're in devil training too."

Zoro shivered instinctively but quickly got fired up. "Alright! If it makes me stronger, bring it on!"

Carl was waiting for those words. He raised his hand, and arcs of electricity crackled as a pile of swords and guns flew toward him—weapons he had taken from Shells Town earlier. Now, they would serve a purpose.

"Next, I'm going to attack you with airborne swords and guns. You can either block or dodge—keep going until you drop. I want to see your foundation so I can tailor your training. Are you ready?"

"Bring it on!"

Zoro tied his bandana around his head, gripped Wado Ichimonji in his mouth, and got into his Three-Sword Style stance.

Carl pointed casually, and the suspended swords shot toward Zoro at high speed. The guns fired automatically as well.

Zoro's expression hardened. His sharp eyes scanned the incoming attacks as he swiftly chose his position to dodge. Then, wielding his three swords, he deflected the incoming blades while evading the bullets.

In less than a minute, Zoro was on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion.

But instead of feeling defeated, he was exhilarated.

"Alright! This is exactly what I wanted! This kind of training is just what I need! Let me show you my true strength!"

Zoro weaved through the rain of bullets and blades, constantly switching between one-sword, two-sword, and three-sword techniques. But no matter how many he deflected, the attacks just kept coming.

With no other choice, he pushed himself to the limit, dodging and blocking as best as he could. His body was already covered in cuts and scratches.

Luckily, Carl controlled the intensity, ensuring the injuries were only minor.

After an hour, the training finally stopped.

The guns had run out of bullets, and the swords had been knocked aside by Zoro.

Lying flat on the deck, Zoro panted heavily, too exhausted to move a finger. But he could feel it—his true potential was being forced out. His body had no choice but to adapt and grow stronger, or else he might not survive next time.

This training was terrifying… but also incredible!

"Hah… hah… hah… As expected from the man who trained that monster of a captain! Mr. Carl, how am I doing?"

Carl smirked. "Oh, your foundation is solid, and your swordsmanship is well-polished. But you're still far from where you need to be.

You don't know how to get stronger. You don't even know which path to take to become stronger. You've never fought a true powerhouse before, and you lack real battle experience against top-tier opponents.

Simply put, you've got a long way to go."

Carl's words were harsh, but Zoro knew they were true.

Luffy, completely wiped out, lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move. There was no way to argue against Carl's assessment.

Despite his exhaustion, Zoro forced himself to stand. He bowed respectfully to Carl and said, "Please teach me, Mr. Carl!"

Carl nodded in approval. "Alright. I'll teach you everything I know. After all, I'm the teacher of the Straw Hat Pirates! But how far you grow—that's up to you."

Hearing that, a fierce determination ignited in Zoro's eyes.

He always had confidence in himself. What he feared was never having the right opportunity.

But now, that opportunity had come. It was time to see the real world.

Meanwhile, Luffy had finished his ten-kilometer run using Moonwalk. He was so exhausted that he collapsed on the deck, panting like a dog with his tongue sticking out.

"Carl… Teacher Carl… why do I feel so much weaker today?" Luffy asked in confusion.

"Oh, today's Seastone bracelet is different. It's draining even more of your strength. Hahahaha!" Carl laughed wickedly.

Luffy's eyes widened in realization.

"No wonder!"

Luffy suddenly realized why he was so exhausted. He had completed these tasks easily in the past, but it turned out that Teacher Carl had made things harder for him. Luckily, he still managed to finish everything on time—otherwise, he'd be in for another round of punishment.

"Alright, let's have breakfast first. Rest up and regain your strength," Carl said.

The moment Luffy heard the word "meal," he instantly recovered, full of energy.

Zoro also grinned, already looking forward to having some sake with breakfast.

As for food, Carl made sure the ship was always well-stocked.

Training required a massive amount of energy.

If they didn't eat properly, their bodies would break down.

As their teacher, Carl took all of this into account.

If supplies ever ran low, he would personally go out in the middle of the night to gather enough food.

After breakfast, both Luffy and Zoro were fully recharged.

Nami, as usual, focused on navigating. However, she kept a wary eye on Carl, afraid that he might drag her into training as well.

She had seen today's session—it was absolutely inhuman!

"Luffy, let's fight next. Let's show Zoro and Nami what a real battle looks like. But to avoid damaging the ship, we'll fight over the sea instead.

Zoro, since Luffy and I are Devil Fruit users, if we fall into the water, make sure to save us. Otherwise, we'll really drown."

"Oh, got it," Zoro nodded, though a flicker of anticipation shone in his eyes.

He was eager to witness a battle between powerful fighters.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Carl and Luffy launched themselves into the air with Moonwalk, clashing over the open sea.

"Gomu Gomu no… Gatling!"

Luffy took the lead, unleashing a barrage of fists coated in Armament Haki, tearing through the air toward Carl.

Carl effortlessly dodged by stepping on Moonwalk, weaving through the rapid punches without breaking a sweat.

"Gomu Gomu no… Axe!"

"Gomu Gomu no… Whip!"

"Gomu Gomu no… Bell!"

Luffy unleashed a flurry of attacks, but Carl simply dodged them all, occasionally blocking one or two with ease.
