Truth be told, Sengoku didn't hold much resentment toward Byakuya. He understood why Byakuya had chosen to establish the Night Order.

"Now, both the Marines and the World Government have become a laughingstock. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Sengoku had long anticipated that the Elders would single him out first. With a solemn expression, he responded:

"You are correct. My misjudgment of Byakuya's character led to this disaster. I have no excuses. I am willing to accept any punishment."

The bald Elder immediately followed up:

"Good. After a thorough discussion among the Five Elders, we have decided. You will be dismissed from your position as Fleet Admiral."

"Your successor will be Admiral Akainu, Sakazuki. However, in recognition of your decades of service to the Marines, you will assume the position of Marine Chief Advisor."

Sengoku was stunned.

He had expected some form of punishment but hadn't anticipated being so decisively stripped of his Fleet Admiral title.

Instead, they had relegated him to the Chief Advisor role, which, at first glance, sounded like a high-ranking position.

But it was a symbolic title—a completely powerless position. The Five Elders had effectively rendered him irrelevant.

At that moment, Garp—who had been idly picking his nose—stood up, his tone filled with dissatisfaction:

"Sengoku has given more than fifty years of his life to the Marines. Even as Fleet Admiral, he has worked tirelessly to maintain sea order.

"Now, you're removing him from his post just because of this one incident? Isn't that a bit too much?"

Standing on Sengoku's side, Aokiji spoke up as well:

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku's contributions to both the Marines and the world are undeniable. I urge the Five Elders to reconsider this decision carefully."

However, Aokiji's objections weren't just about Sengoku's dismissal. More than anything, he genuinely believed that Akainu was unfit for the role of Fleet Admiral.

Sakazuki's approach was far too extreme. He was not the kind of leader the Marines needed in this situation.

After all, Byakuya and the Night Organizationr's strength was no secret. It could be summed up in just one word:

Replacing Sengoku with Akainu at this time—when both Byakuya and Zephyr were in control of the New World, was practically asking for a war between the Marines and the Night Order.

And Aokiji had personally witnessed Byakuya's strength.

He knew the Marines could not go up against the Night Order.

Between the two, his situation was far worse.

The long-bearded Elder had successfully shut him down.

With Garp no longer arguing, the white-haired Elder turned his attention to Aokiji.

"Admiral Aokiji. During Byakuya's time in the Marines, you were one of the few officers close to him. You even carried out multiple missions together."

"During those operations, did you ever notice anything suspicious about his behaviour?"

Aokiji had never expected the Five Elders to turn on him so suddenly. His expression darkened as he replied in a cold, unwavering tone:

"No. I noticed nothing."

"Then, in order to prove your loyalty and distance yourself from Byakuya, you will be leading the main offensive in the attack against the Night Organzation."

"Furthermore, until then, your position as Admiral will be temporarily suspended. It will only be reinstated when a mission arises."

These words sent a shockwave through the gathered Marine officers. They had never expected this meeting to unfold like this.

Not only was Fleet Admiral Sengoku dismissed, but Admiral Aokiji was also suspended.

Sengoku immediately asked, "Kuzan is suspended, and Sakazuki is appointed as Fleet Admiral. Then who will take the two vacant Admiral positions?"

The blond-haired Elder remained composed as he replied, "We have already made arrangements. Two exceptionally powerful individuals will assume the roles."

Hearing this, Sengoku's expression darkened. He could reluctantly accept his dismissal. He could even tolerate Aokiji's suspension.

But he hadn't expected that the World Government planned to appoint Admirals from outside the Marines rather than promoting from within.

This was an undeniable display of their lack of trust in the Marines, which was far more dangerous than anything else.

But before Sengoku could argue further, the bald Elder decisively cut him off:

"By doing so, they have given up their most crucial survival advantage. Eliminating them should be significantly easier."

His response was in line with the expectations of the Five Elders. After all, the power Byakuya and the Night Organization commanded was simply terrifying.

The Five Elders witnessed Byakuya's overwhelming strength when he killed Whitebeard with a single punch during a live broadcast.

They knew that facing the Night Order head-on was not wise. It would be far more strategic to deal with the Revolutionary Army first.

Meanwhile, the Night Order was still preoccupied with solidifying its control over the New World.

"Good. We will proceed as you suggest. Tomorrow, the two new Admirals will be officially appointed. Sakazuki, be prepared."

"…I wonder if that confidence comes from Imu and the Celestial Dragons' secret weapon?" After pondering for a moment, Byakuya smirked.

Sengoku and Kuzan were undoubtedly frustrated by these developments.

"Should I take this opportunity to poach some Marines? Convincing Sengoku to join me is unlikely… but Kuzan? That's another story."

Meanwhile, Akainu, now the new Fleet Admiral, was determined to make a strong first move. His first act as leader had to be decisive and ruthless.
