Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Fire Mountain and the Ox-King

The journey from the desert to greener plains was a welcome change for the group. Bulma sat in the front seat, staring intently at the Dragon Radar.

"The next Dragon Ball is somewhere ahead," she said, her voice tinged with excitement.

Goku leaned over from his perch on the Flying Nimbus. "How far is it, Bulma?"

"Not far, but…" Bulma hesitated as she noticed something strange on the radar.

"What's wrong?" Oolong asked nervously from the driver's seat.

"The signal is… in the middle of what looks like a giant mountain," she explained. "If the terrain doesn't slow us down, something else probably will."

Saitama, who sat in the back seat with his arms crossed, looked out at the horizon. "Doesn't matter. If there's trouble, I'll deal with it."

"Easy for you to say," Oolong muttered under his breath.

As they continued, the air began to change. The breeze carried the faint scent of ash, and the ground turned darker, scorched by intense heat. The car came to a halt as they reached the edge of what could only be described as a wasteland.

"Whoa!" Goku exclaimed, pointing ahead.

A massive mountain stood before them, its peak shrouded in roaring flames. Smoke billowed into the sky, and the heat was intense, even from a distance.

"That's Fire Mountain!" Bulma said, her voice trembling with a mix of awe and fear.

"Fire Mountain?" Goku tilted his head.

"Yeah," Oolong replied. "Legend says it's been burning for years. The flames are so hot that no one can get close to it."

Bulma stared at the radar again. "And of course, the Dragon Ball is right in the middle of it."

"Great," Saitama said flatly. "Another obstacle."

But before they could formulate a plan, the ground shook beneath their feet. A deep, booming voice echoed through the air.

"Who dares approach Fire Mountain?!"

Meeting the Ox-King

The group froze as a colossal figure emerged from behind a cluster of charred trees. The man was enormous, clad in heavy, spiked armor, and wielding a gigantic axe that looked capable of splitting boulders in half. His presence was as intimidating as the flames of the mountain itself.

"That's the Ox-King!" Oolong whispered, his face pale.

"The Ox-King?" Goku asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, he's the guy who used to live in that castle on the mountain," Oolong explained. "But ever since it caught fire, he's been stuck down here, guarding his treasure."

The Ox-King stepped closer, his eyes narrowing as he spotted the group. "You there! What business do you have here?"

"We're just passing through," Bulma said, trying to sound brave.

The Ox-King's gaze fell on Goku's Power Pole. His expression changed instantly, from menacing to shocked.

"That staff… Where did you get it?"

"This?" Goku held up the Power Pole. "It belonged to my Grandpa."

"Your Grandpa… was Gohan?" the Ox-King asked, his voice softening.

"Yeah! Did you know him?"

"I did," the Ox-King said, lowering his axe. "He was my master."

Bulma and the others let out a collective sigh of relief. The Ox-King wasn't going to attack them—at least, not anymore.

---

The Fire's Curse

The Ox-King explained his predicament. Years ago, his castle had been engulfed in flames, and the fire had never gone out. His treasure—and now, apparently, the Dragon Ball—was trapped inside.

"I've been searching for a way to put out the flames," the Ox-King said, his voice heavy with regret. "But nothing has worked."

Bulma showed him the Dragon Radar. "We're trying to collect all seven Dragon Balls. If we help you put out the fire, will you let us take the one in your castle?"

"Of course," the Ox-King said. "But first, I need your help. My daughter, Chi-Chi, went to find Master Roshi. He's the only one who might know how to extinguish the flames. Bring her back safely, and I'll do whatever I can to help you."

"Your daughter went alone?" Saitama asked. "Sounds dangerous."

"She's strong for her age," the Ox-King said with a proud smile.

"She sounds fun!" Goku said. "I'll go find her!"

"I'll go too," Saitama added.

Bulma grabbed Saitama's sleeve. "Wait! You're leaving me here with him?" She pointed nervously at the towering Ox-King.

Saitama shrugged. "He seems fine."

Finding Chi-Chi

Saitama and Goku soared across the plains on the Flying Nimbus, searching for any sign of the Ox-King's daughter. It didn't take long before they spotted her near a river, wearing an odd helmet with a blade attached to it.

"Is that her?" Goku asked.

"Has to be," Saitama said.

Chi-Chi turned at the sound of their voices. She looked at Goku, then at Saitama, her eyes widening.

"Who are you guys?" she asked.

"Your dad sent us to find you," Goku said.

Chi-Chi blushed as she looked at Saitama. "Wow… You're really strong, aren't you?"

"I guess," Saitama said, his tone indifferent.

Chi-Chi suddenly grabbed Goku's hands. "Are you my prince charming?!"

"Prince who?" Goku asked, confused.

"Never mind!" Chi-Chi said, jumping onto the Nimbus. "Let's go!"

Master Roshi's Power

The group returned to Fire Mountain with Chi-Chi in tow. The Ox-King was overjoyed to see his daughter again, hugging her tightly.

"Dad, you're embarrassing me!" Chi-Chi protested, though she was clearly happy to be back.

Once the reunion settled, the focus returned to the burning mountain.

"We still need to put out the fire," Bulma reminded everyone.

"That's where Master Roshi comes in!" Chi-Chi said.

Before long, a small figure approached on the back of a giant turtle. Master Roshi was an old man with a long beard, wearing sunglasses and a Hawaiian shirt. Despite his unassuming appearance, there was a sense of wisdom and power about him.

The Ox-King greeted him with deep respect. "Master Roshi, we need your help."

Roshi studied the mountain for a moment before nodding. "I'll take care of it. Stand back."

Roshi removed his shirt, revealing a surprisingly muscular physique for his age. He planted his feet firmly on the ground and began to gather energy.

"Kame…hame…ha!"

The powerful wave of energy struck the mountain, extinguishing the flames in a spectacular burst of steam. Everyone watched in awe as the fire was completely snuffed out.

"Whoa!" Goku said, his eyes sparkling. "That was awesome!"

"Eh, it's okay," Saitama said, unimpressed.

The Dragon Ball Revealed

With the flames gone, the group ventured into the ruins of the Ox-King's castle. The Dragon Ball was exactly where the radar had indicated, sitting amidst piles of treasure.

"That's five down, two to go!" Bulma said, holding up the Dragon Ball triumphantly.

The Ox-King and Chi-Chi thanked the group profusely.

"If there's ever anything you need, don't hesitate to ask," the Ox-King said.

As they prepared to leave, Chi-Chi tugged on Goku's sleeve.

"Will you come back someday?" she asked shyly.

"Sure!" Goku said without hesitation.

Chi-Chi beamed, and the group set off on their next adventure, the Dragon Balls bringing them closer to their ultimate goal.
