Then I decided to add it on the inside of the room above the door. So I left the Empty Space, put on the Gauntlets to stick to the wall and pick up the pen.

I started to inscribe the wardscheme with the inscription pen. This time however, the pen was not writing in ink, put was instead writings with magic.

The ward would disappear from the senses and would be undetectable afterwards.

It took me some time to actually successfully apply it but I got it done eventually.

I could feel the room start to be charged with magic but it was soon absorbed into the ward.

"That we have and we are here to talk about it now." said a new voice.

I flinched and jumped back from the source but triped and landed on my back.

The Fates were in my room and I was to scared to even breath.

"You can breath Percy Jackson, we are not here to cause you harm. But we think it is important to inform you of a few things. Please take a seat, you will need it." said the one at the right. I believed her to be Atropos, the one who cut the strings.

"What is this about if I may ask?" I responded while trying to find something to sit on without having to look away from them. Gods and Goddesses were fickle beings and mythology has tought me that they had impressive moodswings at perceived insults.

"You can calm down. We will not torment you more that what has already been spun by us and we will not cut your string short if we can avoid it." this time it was the one on the left. She must be Clotho, the one that spins the garn.

That made the one in the middle Lachesis, the one who determines the length of the string.

" So what is this about if I may ask? "

" You may and this is about how different you are to how we had planned you to be. You were meant to only become aware of the mythology world on the day of the museum trip." that was Clotho.

"But you have become aware before that and you are already different but everyone else hasn't been affected yet." Lachesis.

"So we need you to act like the Percy Jackson that we had planned for. You will have to participate in the quests and are not allowed to truly change either the outcome or the path we laid out for you." and Atropos.

Now it was my turn to talk again. Seeing as they had just told me that I was not really allowed to change Canon. So I naturally had some questions but I wasn't going to reject them.

" So what am I allowed to change and what can I get for it?" I said I wasn't going to reject them, not that I wasn't going to ask for a form of payment.

Clotho started explaining.

"We can't allow for impactful changes. The most inconsequential death could probably be avoided though."

Lachesis:"Like Zoe Nightshade and Charles Beckendorf. Both of them wouldn't change the future by much. Though you would have to save Beckendorf and hide him for the time of the battle."

"The Battle of Manhattan has to happen, but with exception of Thalia, Nico and you no one else has to be there." and once again Atropos ended the explanation.

"For what we can offer you in return, we can offer you to be accepted as our child."

Clotho said and Lachesis followed with: " We already talked about this. We can't expect you to do as we ask without giving you something that would allow you to act as we ask. "

And it was Atropos turn again.

" Adopting you as ours would not erase your pervious parents but add us to it instead. It would allow you to see and know what the strings represent and give you an impression of what you can change."

Suddenly all three of them said in unision:"This will be the reward for allowing the school year to go as we planned. But after that you will only get a reward from us for each completed quest."

I did the math in my head and came to the conclusion that including the adoption they just promised to give me six rewards. That was not something I could possibly reject and even thinking of asking for more sent alarms blaring through my head.

" I will accept this deal and act accordingly." was the only thing I could respond with.
