Chapter 16: Capture the Flag
Hikari, Natsuki, Yami and few other of the Aphrodite children were eating on there table, as Hikari mind was still on the chains and his watch, he found yesterday this shit had built in Ninja star's and smoke bomb, what other shit this thing have was Hikari thought.
Then Chiron stepped up, as eveyrone looked at him, as Chiron looked at all them as he spoke
Chiron looked at all of them. "Today we have two interesting announcements, We have decided that Capture the flag will held tomorrow".
Eveyrone was Happy, as then they looked at Dionysus, as he looked at all the campers
Dionysus looked at all of them. "Alright that is enough you little shit, we have questions from a god"
Hikari ears perked up, as he smirked but he was not sure if was from him
Dionysus then spoke. "It is from Hephaestus, the quest to capture and get a few of Apollor Sun sheeps fur"
Everyone eyes wident, especially the kids of Apollo, for some reason Hikari got a felling that it was going to be something.
Chiron then spoke as he looked at all the campers a bit worried. "The one chosen for this Quest is Hikari child of Aphrodite, Champion of Ares and Hephaestus".
As soon as Chiron finished speaking, the dining pavilion went silent. All eyes were on Hikari. He could feel the weight of their gazes, but he stayed calm, processing what had just been said. The quest wasn't just any random task—it was a quest from Hephaestus himself, and involving Apollo's sacred sheep made it even more significant.
Natsuki leaned over, her voice low but full of excitement. "You're going on a real quest... this is huge."
Yami, sitting across from them, crossed his arms. "You better bring back something cool, Hikari. I swear, you get all the interesting stuff."
Hikari just smirked, still a bit in disbelief. "Yeah, I guess I do. But a few of Apollo's Sun Sheep? This is gonna be something else."
As the murmurs around the pavilion grew louder, Chiron cleared his throat again, regaining the campers' attention. "Now, I understand this is sudden, but as always, quests are not to be taken lightly. Hikari, you will be given time to prepare, and two others will accompany you. You can choose your companions wisely."
Dionysus yawned dramatically before speaking again. "Try not to get yourself killed, kid. That'd be a real bummer."
Hikari shot him a look before returning his focus to Chiron. The excitement from the other campers was palpable, but the pressure of what lay ahead was settling in. This was his chance—to prove himself, to find the chains, and to discover more about his strange new powers.
Capture the Flag was tomorrow, but now all Hikari could think about was the upcoming quest. His adventure was about to take a dangerous turn.
Dionysus leaned back in his chair, waving dismissively. "But that is after the Capture the Flag tomorrow, so you have plenty of time to figure things out, kid."
Hikari's smirk faded slightly, replaced with a more serious expression. "Great... a whole day to mentally prepare for not only the game but a god's quest. No pressure at all."
Natsuki chuckled softly, nudging him. "Don't worry, you can use Capture the Flag as practice for the real thing."
Yami, ever the skeptic, raised an eyebrow. "Or you could get yourself hurt before the quest even begins. Try not to go overboard tomorrow, Hikari."
Hikari rolled his eyes. "Relax, I know what I'm doing. Besides, it'll be fun to test out more of this gear." He glanced at his watch, still amazed by the hidden features he had discovered the day before. "Who knows what else this thing is packing?"
The rest of the evening passed with a buzz of excitement. The promise of Capture the Flag was always thrilling, but now with Hikari's impending quest looming over everyone's heads, it felt like even more was at stake.
As the campers began to disperse, preparing for tomorrow's game, Hikari's thoughts wandered. The quest from Hephaestus, the chains, Apollo's Sun Sheep... it was all swirling around in his head. But first, he needed to focus on the game. He'd use it as an opportunity to sharpen his skills, test out his gear, and maybe even find out who his true allies would be.
"Tomorrow's going to be interesting," Hikari muttered to himself as he stood, stretching. "One step closer to those chains."
Capture the flag was a few hours, as Hikari was looking into the Quest log about the Sun Sheep, as he looked around before he found
Hikari looked at the files on a story. "Found it"
Chiron who was there spoke. "What did you find"
Hikari looked at him. "I was looking at story the sun sheep were mentioned, I remember a popular one that is related to my mother, and I found, it is the story of Eros and Pscyhe"
Hikari stared at the story in front of him, feeling a sense of familiarity wash over him as he read. "The Sun Sheep, also known as the golden sheep, appear in the story of Eros and Psyche. Psyche was tasked with retrieving golden fleece from these sacred sheep as one of her impossible trials, sent by my mother, Aphrodite. But it's said she didn't actually fight the sheep... instead, she gathered fleece caught on branches by the riverbank."
Chiron nodded slowly, understanding dawning in his eyes. "So, you believe that the connection to Aphrodite and the Sun Sheep means your quest is a trial similar to Psyche's?"
Hikari crossed his arms, thinking it through. "Yeah, it's possible. It's likely this quest will involve using wit more than brute strength. And, if I remember correctly, Psyche had help from divine forces during her tasks. Maybe I'll get some guidance, too."
Chiron smiled, impressed by Hikari's analysis. "Smart thinking. But remember, a quest never goes exactly as expected. Be prepared for anything."
Hikari smirked. "Don't worry, I'll be ready. Capture the Flag will be good practice."
As the time for Capture the Flag drew closer, Hikari closed the quest log, determination settling in his eyes. The game would be his first chance to test his strategies and prepare for the real challenge ahead.
He rose from his seat, already imagining the thrill of tomorrow's game and the steps that would follow. "Time to win this game and then go get that Sun Sheep fleece."
Capture the flag happened, as he heard who was joining shows teams, it was the Hermes cabin Vs the Ares Cabin, so Cabin 5 Vs Cabin 10, Clarisse's was thr leader of Ares team and Luke the leader, his cabin was going to originally join Ares, but he convinced them to join Hermes and look, after thsg was done everyone was divides into there
As the match started, as a few of Ares kids were running to where the Flag for the Hermes team was, they were ready to fight who ever was, but then stopped as they saw who was guarding the flag
Hikari looked at all them as he activated his watched. "So do you guys wants the Gauntlet or the full exco skeleton"
One of the kidsz a child of Apollor looked at him ns dropped his sword. "Nope, I am not figthing a Ninja Wolf"
As he just ran. Hikari looked at him and nodded, he made a smart decision
Hikari stood confidently by the Hermes team's flag, his eyes glinting with amusement as he watched the Ares kids hesitate. His full exoskeleton gleamed under the sunlight, and the wolf-like mask added an extra layer of intimidation. He cracked his knuckles, the gauntlets clinking with the sound of metal on metal.
The Ares campers glanced at each other nervously. They were used to physical brawls and overpowering their opponents, but Hikari? He was something else entirely. The reputation he'd built over the past days had clearly made an impression.
One of the Ares kids, more stubborn than the others, gritted his teeth and stepped forward. "We can't just let him scare us. We're Ares' children!" he shouted, raising his weapon high and charging.
Hikari sighed. "Guess we're doing this."
In a flash, he activated his gauntlet's claw mode, and before the Ares camper could get close, Hikari sidestepped and swung a fist upward. The spikes on his gauntlet stopped mere inches from the camper's throat, but it was enough to make him freeze in place.
"Still want to keep going?" Hikari asked, his voice muffled behind the mask but dripping with challenge.
The camper gulped and slowly backed away, lowering his weapon. "N-No... I'm good," he stammered, retreating with the rest of his group.
With that, the other Ares campers turned and bolted. Hikari didn't bother chasing them. Instead, he stood guard, arms crossed, waiting for anyone else foolish enough to try.
Minutes passed, and soon, the horn blew. The match was over. Hermes cabin had won.
As the teams regrouped, Luke approached Hikari with a grin. "I knew convincing you to join our team was a smart move. You single-handedly defended the flag."
Hikari shrugged. "Wasn't too hard. They didn't really want to fight a 'Ninja Wolf.'"
Luke laughed. "Well, thanks for the help. You're a beast out there."
Clarisse, who led the Ares cabin, marched up with a scowl on her face. "Next time, we're not holding back."
Hikari gave her a confident nod. "Looking forward to it."
Hikari then relsihes. "Were my brother"
As then he heard a scream and then someone southing hell hound, one the hell hound came out, but it was them cought by string, a trap set by Hikari, as he ran to the lake hoping Percy was ok, when he arrived he Annabeth pushing Percy on the waters, he as going to make a joke but then he saw it, as on top of Percy head was a trident, and will what happened next was a whole lot of emotions, lighting cracked, rain fell and black fire blazed up, and then a few more minutes he heard yelling from thr big house, Percy Moving to the Poseidon Cabin, the truth about Zeus lighting bolt and then Percy getting a question, as he told his Prophecy he got from thr oracle..
Hikari looked at him. "You will meet a god who has turned west"
Percy looked at him. "Yeah Hades, which we can get Dad back, don't worry I will bring him back"..
Hikari then spoke. "there is flaw in that logic"
Chiron looked at him. "What do you mean, If Zeus and Poseidon fought, then the one in power will Hades"
Hikari then look at white board as he started to draw. "The flaw with that is Hades will even care, if anything it would suck for him, earth has 8 billion people in and everyone dies in a daily based, so Hades hand is already fill" Hikari said drawing as he looked at everyone as they nodded. "If that's is war more death and more paparr work and people My Brother"
Chiron looked at him. "Brother?"
Hikari looked at him. "I am the child of Aphrodite who was Bron from Uranusn ball being cut of, Aphrodite is technically a sister of you know who, and so Hades is my brother kida". Hikari then close his marker. "I am getting of topic, the gods related to trh west are Artemis, Athena, and Ares, and if war happens Athena and Ares get benefits, but i could also be wrong and it can be Ares".
Dionysus just looked at him and blinked. "are you sure your not a champion of Athena as well"
Hikari smirked at Dionysus' comment, shaking his head. "Nope, just Ares and Hephaestus. But being Aphrodite's kid, I guess strategy runs in the family too. War and love, after all, are two sides of the same coin."
Chiron looked thoughtful as he absorbed Hikari's insights. "You may be onto something, Hikari. The prophecy could indeed be referring to more than just Hades. But we can't know for sure until Percy embarks on his quest."
Percy, still processing everything, looked between them. "So, what are you saying? I'm not going after Hades?"
Hikari shrugged. "I'm saying don't lock yourself into one answer. Stay sharp. The prophecy might be more complicated than it seems. And if you're going to face gods, you need to be prepared for the unexpected."
Annabeth chimed in, her brow furrowed. "That makes sense. Greek prophecies are rarely straightforward. We have to keep an open mind."
Percy sighed, rubbing his temples. "Great, more ambiguity. Just what I needed."
Chiron placed a hand on Percy's shoulder. "You'll figure it out, Percy. Trust in your instincts and your companions."
Hikari stood up, brushing off his pants. "Well, looks like we're both heading out on quests soon. Percy, don't get yourself killed, alright? Wouldn't want to come back and find out you've left me without a sparring partner."
Percy laughed weakly. "I'll try not to, but no promises."
With that, the group slowly dispersed, each of them deep in thought. Hikari walked away, still thinking about the chains of Hephaestus and how they might come into play on his own journey. It was clear that the stakes for both Percy and himself were only getting higher.
Chiron them looked at Hikari. "Alright it is your time too meet the Oracle and get your Prophecy".
Hikari paused mid-step and turned to face Chiron. His usual confident smirk faltered slightly as he realized the weight of what was coming next. A prophecy. His own quest. There was no turning back now.
"Guess it's my turn, huh?" Hikari muttered, trying to mask his nervousness with a grin.
Chiron nodded solemnly. "Yes, Hikari. It's time. The Oracle will reveal your path. But remember, prophecies are not always clear, and they can be tricky to interpret. Be prepared for the unexpected."
Hikari sighed. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get this over with."
Chiron gestured for Hikari to follow, and the two made their way to the attic of the Big House. The air grew heavier as they ascended the stairs, each step creaking under their weight. The scent of old wood and dust filled the air, and as they reached the attic, the Oracle of Delphi, seated in her chair, came into view. The eerie green mist swirled around her lifeless form.
Chiron stopped at the threshold, motioning for Hikari to approach alone.
Hikari hesitated for a moment before stepping forward. His heart raced as he stood before the Oracle. The room was deathly quiet. Suddenly, the Oracle's eyes snapped open, glowing with a bright green light. The mist around her thickened, swirling faster as she began to speak in a raspy, ancient voice.
"Child of love and war, forged by flame and fury,
Your path is dark, your heart will be tested.
Seek the chains in the city of steel,
But beware the shadows that follow and steal.
A god's wrath shall be your guide,
But betray one ally, and you shall die.
Your blood will be spilled beneath the burning sky,
And the fate of gods and mortals shall lie in your hands."
As the prophecy ended, the Oracle's eyes closed, and the green mist slowly dissipated. Hikari stood there, frozen, the weight of the prophecy sinking in.
Chiron stepped forward, placing a hand on Hikari's shoulder. "Prophecies are never easy to hear, but now you know your path. What matters is how you face it."
Hikari's mind raced, trying to process the words. "Betray one ally and I'll die? Blood spilled under a burning sky? What the hell does all of this mean?"
Chiron's expression was grim. "It will reveal itself in time, Hikari. For now, prepare yourself. Your quest has begun."
Hikari took a deep breath, clenching his fists. "Fine. If this is my fate, I'll face it head-on. No holding back."
Chiron nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "Good. Now, rest up. Tomorrow, you'll face more than just a prophecy."
