Chapter 6: CHAPTER SIX LUCA SAVES RHEA
The moment they were out of sight, Rhea spun around and stormed back into the apartment.
Luca was still sitting at the table, completely unfazed, sipping his drink as if nothing had happened.
She slammed the door shut. "What the hell was that?!"
Luca leaned back in his chair, smirking. "You're welcome."
"Welcome?!" she nearly shouted. "You just told my colleagues—and my boss—that you're my boyfriend! Do you realize what you've done?!"
"You said they couldn't find out about me being here," he said casually, swirling the liquid in his glass. "So, I handled it."
"Handled it?" She gestured wildly at the extravagant setup—the expensive food, the fine china, the presence of bodyguards. "Where did all this even come from? And who are you to just—just summon people like this?!"
Luca took another slow sip before setting the glass down. His blue eyes locked onto hers, unreadable.
"I guess we'll both have to figure that out," he murmured.
A shiver ran down her spine. There was something about the way he said it—like even he didn't fully know the answers.
Frustrated and drained, Rhea exhaled sharply. "I can't think anymore. I'm going to bed."
She turned and walked to her room, slamming the door behind her.
Luca smirked.
"Where's my phone?" he asked.
One of his bodyguards stepped forward and handed it to him.
"Clear this up. Then leave."
"Yes, boss."
---
The Next Day
Rhea woke up early, took a quick shower, and left for work without a word to Luca.
When he woke up later and checked her room, he found it empty.
"She must've gone to work," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. But something gnawed at him.
"She didn't even say anything to me this morning…"
He pushed the thought aside.
---
That afternoon, while Rhea was at work, her phone buzzed. Seeing her boss's number, she hesitated before answering.
"Hello, sir?"
"Meet me on the highway after work. Eight o'clock."
She frowned. "Why, sir?"
"I'll tell you when we meet."
The call ended.
Rhea stared at her phone. Why would he want to meet me so late?
A bad feeling settled in her stomach.
---
8 PM – Rhea Doesn't Return
Back at the apartment, Luca found himself glancing at the window repeatedly, waiting for Rhea.
By 8:30 PM, she still wasn't back.
By 9:00, he was pacing.
He dialed her number. No answer. He tried again. And again.
"Why isn't she picking up? Where is she?"
His jaw clenched.
Then, he remembered something. She once gave me her colleague's number in case of emergencies.
He quickly scrolled through his phone and called.
"Hello?" The voice on the other end sounded confused.
"Hi, this is Luca. Rhea's—" He hesitated, then sighed. "Boyfriend."
"Oh! You're the one who gave us all gifts when we visited!"
"Yeah. Listen, is Rhea still at work? I've been calling her, but I can't reach her."
"No, she left early today."
Luca's grip on his phone tightened. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, she left hours ago."
"Okay. Thanks." He hung up.
Something was wrong.
A sharp knock at the door made him turn. He rushed over and opened it to find his personal assistant, Mia.
"Come in," he said, shutting the door behind her. "Did anyone see you?"
"No, boss," she said, her tone serious.
"You have news?"
She handed him a file. "It's urgent. Mr. Roy is meeting the shareholders at Paradise Hotel tonight at 10 PM."
Luca's expression darkened. "So soon?"
"Boss, if you don't return to Carson Group now, it might be too late."
He exhaled sharply. "We'll deal with that later. Right now, I need to find Rhea."
Mia didn't argue. She opened the car door, and Luca got in.
"Drive," he ordered.
---
Rhea in Danger
On a lonely stretch of highway, Rhea sat uncomfortably across from her boss in his parked car.
"Time flies, doesn't it?" he mused.
Rhea forced a small smile. "Uh, yeah… I guess."
"Do you remember your first interview?"
She nodded hesitantly. "Yes, sir. But… why are we talking about this now?"
Her boss sighed, then turned to face her fully. "Do you know why I hired you?"
She stiffened. "Because of my qualifications?"
He smirked. "No. I hired you because I liked you from the moment I saw you."
Her stomach twisted.
"Sir…" she laughed nervously. "I—I appreciate the opportunity you gave me, but—"
"Be my girlfriend."
Her breath hitched.
"But, sir—you saw my boyfriend that day at my house."
"I don't care," he said firmly. "Leave him. I want you. That's all that matters."
Rhea's heart pounded. "Sir, I— I don't see you that way."
His expression darkened. "Then you're ready to lose your job?"
Shock and anger flared inside her. She shot to her feet. "You're really going to fire me because I won't date you? You're a jerk!"
Before she could move, he grabbed her wrist.
"How dare you talk to me like that?"
"Let me go!" she screamed, struggling.
He clamped a hand over her mouth. She thrashed, but he was too strong. He started dragging her toward his car.
Then—
"RHEA!"
A voice boomed across the highway.
Luca.

Luca vs. Rhea's Boss
The moment Rhea's boss opened the driver's door, Luca grabbed him and slammed a punch into his face.
The man stumbled back, dazed.
Luca yanked the car door open and gently pulled Rhea out. She was unconscious. His heart clenched.
"Rhea—Rhea, wake up!" He tapped her cheek. "Come on!"
Before he could do more, something hard cracked against his back.
Pain shot through him, and he fell to one knee.
Rhea's boss stood behind him, gripping a thick wooden stick.
"You bastard," the man spat.
Luca gritted his teeth. The pain in his leg flared as he tried to stand.
Rhea stirred, her eyelids fluttering open just in time to see Luca collapse.
"Luca!" she cried.
Her boss grabbed her again, dragging her away.
Luca forced himself up, grabbed the fallen stick, and swung—striking the man hard in the head.
Rhea's boss crumpled.
Luca, panting, felt his vision blur. His strength gave out, and he collapsed.
"Luca!" Rhea dropped to her knees beside him. "Hey, wake up—someone help!"
A car screeched to a stop. Mia rushed out.
Together, she and Rhea helped Luca into the car.
As Mia drove, Rhea glanced at her. "Who are you? How do you know him?"
Mia hesitated. "He saved me once. So, I returned the favor."
Rhea narrowed her eyes. She wasn't sure she believed that.
---
Back at the apartment, Mia drove off, leaving Rhea to help Luca inside.
"Do you know Mia?" she asked.
Luca smirked despite his pain. "No idea. Maybe she has a crush on me."
Rhea scowled. "Let's go inside."
Luca chuckled as she helped him in.
