Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Special Training

After discussing the details, Ron hung up the phone.

Having made his decision, Ron didn't waste time regretting it or overthinking. Instead, he focused all his energy on carrying out his plan.

Although the timeline seemed generous—one and a half months to challenge Cinnabar Gym, return to the mainland, and hunt down the poaching team—it was actually quite tight.

To take down a poaching team with high-level elite trainers, Ron needed to ensure that his Machamp and Persian could stand their ground against high elite-level Pokémon.

While Machamp and Persian had already started practicing the Six Powers, their base strength was still too low. Ron set a goal: within one month, he would significantly enhance their abilities.

Other trainers might face limitations due to a Pokémon's innate potential, insufficient battle experience, or a lack of top-tier Pokéblocks, making it hard for their Pokémon to break through certain power levels.

However, with Ron's mastery of combat techniques and his stockpile of premium Pokéblocks, he was confident in giving Machamp and his team a significant boost.

To make life on the island more comfortable, Ron decided to find a place to settle. His method was simple: let Machamp use sheer power to drive away the wild Pokémon in the area—a tactic Ron had employed during past trials.

Feeling nostalgic, Ron instructed Machamp to clear out a territory, a move that reminded him of those earlier survival challenges. But this time, his motivation was different—securing his safety while training rigorously.

"Machamp, Finger Pistol: Flaming Ten-Finger Strike!"

Blazing flames enveloped Machamp's hands. Utilizing Shave, Machamp swiftly closed the gap, clasped his hands, and launched a fierce strike at an Arbok.

The moment Machamp moved, a scorching wave of heat surged toward Arbok, catching it off guard. The attack shattered Arbok's tough scales, leaving it exposed to searing flames.

With a painful wail, Arbok writhed in agony, only to be grabbed and hurled into the air by Machamp. Leaping off the ground with incredible speed, Machamp unleashed another Flaming Ten-Finger Strike mid-air, slamming Arbok back to the ground.

With just two or three calculated attacks, Machamp had completely subdued Arbok.

After reviving Arbok with fighting aura, Ron watched it warily slither away. In the wild, the rule of survival was clear: only when Arbok believed it had grown stronger than Machamp would it consider returning for a rematch.

With a temporary base secured, Ron and his team began transforming the area for their intensive month-long training.

For the island's wild Pokémon, however, it marked the beginning of a nightmare.

While battles between Pokémon on the island were common, they usually stayed within certain boundaries. Ron's approach—tirelessly seeking out opponents for Machamp and his team—was unprecedented.

Initially, Ron restricted battles to once a day. But as time went on, he ramped up the intensity, scheduling battles from morning to afternoon and ensuring each wild Pokémon in the vicinity faced his team at least twice.

At the same time, Ron continued honing their mastery of the Six Powers.

For Machamp, Ron focused on developing techniques derived from the Six Powers moves it already knew. Simultaneously, he began training Machamp to learn Tempest Kick. With its strong foundation, Ron believed Machamp would grasp the move quickly. If not, it would surely master it upon reaching the high elite level.

For Persian, whose agile and stealthy style suited its role as an assassin, Ron tailored derivative techniques emphasizing speed and precision.

As for Bellossom, its recent battles had unlocked hidden potential, allowing it to advance to the mid-elite level. Now, it was beginning Moonwalk training.

Nidoking and Kirlia, meanwhile, continued practicing Shave. Among them, Nidoking had fully mastered the move, while Kirlia was only a step away.

Torchic, still young, showed promise by quickly reaching level 12 and learning Sand Attack during the month of rigorous training.

By the end of the month, Ron's team had undergone significant progress:

Machamp

Reached level 53 and advanced to the high-elite level.

Learned new moves: Scary Face and Cross Chop.

Mastered multiple derivative techniques, solidifying its position as Ron's strongest Pokémon.

Persian

Reached level 49, just shy of the high-elite threshold.

Learned Nasty Plot and Assurance.

With time constraints, Ron postponed its breakthrough until their return to the mainland.

Bellossom

Advanced to mid-elite level at level 46.

Positioned in the same tier as Persian but could soon fall behind if Persian advanced further.

Nidoking and Kirlia

Reached levels 34 and 29, respectively.

Nidoking had fully mastered Shave, while Kirlia was nearly there.

Torchic

Rapidly grew to level 12, learning Sand Attack.

With their training complete, Ron had one final battle planned before departing the island: a match between Persian and a level 51 Tropius.

Although battles against higher-level opponents were increasingly challenging, Ron believed Persian, having mastered Shave, Moonwalk, and Finger Pistol, could rise to the occasion.

As Ron and his team approached, Tropius tensed, recalling its prior defeat at Machamp's hands.

Watching Persian step forward, Tropius realized it faced a new challenger, but the fierce determination radiating from Persian left no doubt: this battle would be just as intense.

"Let's hope this one doesn't turn out to be another Machamp…" Tropius thought nervously.
