Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Landing on Cinnabar Island

"Persian, use Moonwalk to ascend and strike with Finger Pistol: Instant Slash!"

As Tropius soared into the sky, Ron immediately ordered Persian to pursue it.

Leaping from the ground with great force, Persian executed Moonwalk, propelling itself toward Tropius at incredible speed.

As the distance between them rapidly closed, Persian unleashed its power, transforming into a black blur.

Tropius adjusted its flight pattern, countering with a combination of Razor Leaf and Air Slash to encircle and pressure its opponent.

Using its agility and mastery over Moonwalk, Persian weaved through Tropius' attacks effortlessly.

Extending its sharp claws, Persian executed Finger Pistol: Instant Slash.

This technique, a fusion of Finger Pistol, Slash, and Fury Swipes, was designed to inflict maximum damage within a short timeframe.

In line with Persian's assassin-like style, Ron had developed derivative techniques like Finger Pistol: Instant Slash, which prioritized precision, speed, and stealth.

Thanks to Persian's mastery of Fury Swipes, each execution ensured four or five successive hits, maintaining consistent destructive power.

By the time Persian withdrew to prepare for a second strike, Tropius finally registered the intense pain from the earlier attack.

"Persian, follow up with Finger Pistol: Blink Slash!"

It was as if Persian was treading on solid ground mid-air. Combining Fake Out with Feint Attack, its speed surged once more.

Before Tropius could react, Persian appeared directly in front of it.

A massive wound emerged across Tropius' back.

Blood splattered as Tropius struggled to stay airborne, waves of searing pain surging through its body.

If Machamp's earlier assault felt like sheer brute force, Persian's attacks were akin to those of a ghostly assassin—silent but deadly.

Before Tropius could even react, the damage had already been done, with the excruciating pain as the only clue of its opponent's assault.

A sense of dread began to creep into Tropius' mind.

"Persian, use Finger Pistol: Radiant Flash!"

Ron's voice rang out. High in the sky, Moonwalk was quickly draining Persian's stamina, and Ron wasn't about to waste valuable time.

The glow of Power Gem erupted, forcing Tropius to instinctively close its eyes. It followed up with Magical Leaf, forming a shield in front of itself.

"Persian, use Shave: Flash Step!"

Almost simultaneously with Ron's command, the dazzling light vanished, and Persian reappeared behind Tropius.

Combining Finger Pistol with Slash, Persian expanded the wounds on Tropius' back.

The overwhelming pain caused Tropius to lose its balance entirely, wobbling before beginning a rapid descent from the sky.

"Persian, finish it with Finger Pistol: Shadow Claw Storm!"

With a powerful kick off the air, Persian shot forward like a bullet.

Executing a combination of Finger Pistol, Shadow Claw, Fury Swipes, and Slash, Persian unleashed a flurry of black claw shadows.

Tropius accelerated its descent, crashing into the ground with a heavy thud.

Lying in the deep crater it had created, Tropius was no longer able to battle.

From start to finish, Tropius had been unable to counter Persian's speed effectively, ultimately succumbing to its strongest derivative technique.

With training complete, it was finally time for Ron to head to Cinnabar Island.

Not only was the Cinnabar Gym awaiting his challenge, but it seemed that the Wade family, after all this time, was growing impatient in their search for him.

"Kirlia, it's your turn now."

To save time, Ron decided to have Kirlia use Teleport instead of relying on Gyarados for travel.

With Machamp using Moonwalk to carry Ron and Kirlia into the air, Kirlia locked onto their destination and activated Teleport, quickly advancing toward Cinnabar Island.

Meanwhile, at the traffic checkpoint leading to Cinnabar Island, Mance idly asked his companion, "Do you think that guy, Ron, is already dead? How else could he have gone silent for this long?"

Shortly after Ron had left the port, Mance and his group, led by Alan, had boarded a ship heading for Cinnabar Island.

Perhaps due to Ron's absence, Alan's journey had been smooth, and they had reached Cinnabar Island without issue, only to lose track of Ron upon arrival.

This wasn't just Alan's problem—the Wade family's other members faced the same issue.

Two days later, news broke of a ship attacked by pirates, and the Wade family finally got word of Ron again.

The good news was that Ron's name wasn't on the casualty list, giving Alan and his group another chance to act.

The bad news? They still couldn't find any trace of Ron and had to continue staking out key locations.

Now, nearly a month had passed since Alan's departure, and even Mance, who still held some hope, was beginning to grow restless.

"Who knows? At this point, I've given up on finding Ron. I just hope the patriarch abandons this mission soon. How much longer can we endure standing guard here on Cinnabar Island—a vacation paradise—while everyone else enjoys themselves?"

Unlike Mance, Barney had completely given up hope of finding Ron. He just wanted to return home or relax properly.

Stretching lazily, Barney headed off to buy some water but caught sight of a figure slowly approaching.

"Mance, our luck might be turning!"

Though Barney tried to sound calm, excitement betrayed his tone.

Following Barney's gaze, Mance saw the man they'd been searching for over a month.

For the first time in his life, Mance felt deeply moved by the sight of another man.

"Stay calm, you must stay calm. Don't let him notice anything suspicious."

"Right, I'll notify Big Brother Alan right away."

As they spoke, the two headed to the side of the road. Mance, however, stumbled and almost fell.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out there was a beggar lying by the roadside. Mance initially thought someone was signaling to the referee.

When Ron approached, Mance, in an effort to conceal himself, quickly pulled out a large-denomination League bill and tossed it to the beggar.

The beggar opened his eyes to see the bill floating toward him. Like a thief, he swiftly tucked the League bill into his chest, then knelt on the ground to express his gratitude to Mance. Without delay, he ran away, afraid that Mance might take the bill back.

Ron had already been observing the actions of Mance and Barney. Coupled with Kirlia's psychic abilities, he quickly deduced their identities.

However, Ron had no intention of acting just yet. Instead, he planned to let all of their allies gather in one place before dealing with them all at once.

With his increased strength and a momentary respite from the pressure caused by the Wade family's relentless pursuit, Ron no longer took their threats as seriously.

Expressionless, he walked past the two of them and headed toward the Cinnabar Gym.

At this point in time, the hot springs of Cinnabar Island had already been developed, gradually transforming the area into a popular vacation destination. As a result, Blaine's Cinnabar Gym was slowly falling into disuse, though it wasn't as dilapidated as it would be when Ash Ketchum arrived later.

"Hello, I'm here to challenge the gym."

Ron's voice echoed. Perhaps it was because it had been so long since anyone had come to challenge the gym that the few remaining staff members looked surprised. Nevertheless, they registered Ron's request.

In about two years, when Ash arrives, the Cinnabar Gym will likely be completely abandoned, and even the last of the staff members will have left.

After registering, Ron walked straight into the gym without having to queue—a privilege Ash himself would later enjoy.
