Chapter 317: 317. Banana Slakoth Garden
After leaving Volley Town, the group was came even closer to their destination of Lilycove City.
But along on the way, Max noticed something quite intriguing, a big signboard, "It's the world famous Banana Slakoth Garden!"
"The work famous Banana Slakoth Garden?" Brock looked at the sign and flipped through the news edition of his trusty tourist brochure. "It says on it that this is one of the rare sightseeing facilities in the world that only gathers a very specific group of Pokémon's. And this also says that this is the worlds largest gathering for them!" He said the last part much louder as he was surprised by this sudden revelation.
"It's one of very rare places in the world, that's so amazing!" Max was already very excited to think about how much fun it would be.
Max really liked this type Pokémon very much as his father, Norman, the Normal-type Gym Leader of the Petalburg City Gym, uses Pokémon's like this. In fact they are his ace. So Max has a very good liking towards them ever since he was a child, which he still technically is. It was all but confirmed that after Max becomes a Pokémon Trainer within the next decade or so, he will definitely catch one of these Pokémon's for training.
"Big Bro, sister, Brock, can we please go and see all those Slakoths here?! I always wanted to come here!"
"No, I object!" May actually disagreed, "I want to go to the next town there quickly to enjoy the delicious cakes they have their for a limited time! I can't let that beautiful thing get inside of someone else's stomach! It only belongs to me!"
She was really greedy for that so called cake. When they were in Volley Town, Lunatone hypnotized everyone, so the production of the local food and pretty much everything else had to stop because of this.
They stayed at the Pokémon Center for one night and then set off on their journey again. Meaning no new food to add to May's Fooddex.
The last two Lava Cookies she had were also taken away by Ash for recovering Nurse Joy without him actually using his Psychic, and she couldn't even get to eat any snacks along the way as she had finished everything.
The two siblings actually got into a little quarrel because of this small fact. One said that the cake was more important, and the other said that the Slakoth was more important.
Ash was starting to get annoyed as his girlfriend and her little brothers for their bickering, so he did the thing he was best at; hit them both with two fists to the head.
[Notice! Master, you're showing EQUALITY.] Ciel said with some amusement present in her hot voice.
Brock looked at the travel brochure and smiled and said, "May, another fascinating thing that you should live about this Banana Slakoth Garden place is that they also make various desserts made with the bananas here as their ingredients."
Hearing this, May suddenly became starry-eyed and began thinking about all the delicious desserts she could eat here.
She grabbed the travel brochure from Brock and looked at it, "Banana cake, banana pudding, and this banana split all look so delicious! So what are we waiting for? Let's go inside of this Banana Slakoth Garden!"
After walking a few steps, the group came to a large-scale paradise not far away from their current place of a hillside.
Max cheered up happily, "I see it! That's the world famous Banana Slakoth Gardne!"
The scenery was indeed as excellent as the travel brochures made it out to be, but the strange thing was that they could not even see or smell any banana when they gad to stop at the entrance of this large garden, because the door was also closed.
"That's very strange, it doesn't seem to be open. And here it says that it should be opened on todays date." Brock slightly tapped the door, but found that the door was not locked as it seemed.
May then suddenly opened the door and walked inside of it, "I won't give up my banana dessert so easily!"
Seeing this, Ash and Brock also just laughed and walked in behind the eager siblings. It's seemed okay to walk in here, why wouldn't it be okay?
If they just walk in now, they might just meet the person in charge of this large place and have a talk about what's happening.
It is obviously a banana garden, but looking around, there are neither any bananas nor the large amounts of Slakoth it was advertised as. It seems that something truly is happening here around.
Sure enough, not long after they stepped into the large garden, everyone felt a turmoil under their feet, and bursts of what felt like a Earthquake could be felt all over their bodies.
Even the ground beneath their feet cracked, enough for Ash to quickly use his Psychic powers to temporarily lift his group away to avoid it.
At the same time, a middle-aged man ran over and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that everyone was fine, "Guests, it's too dangerous to stay in that place. Please go this way from here quickly, it's for your own safety!"
The uncle didn't ask why they even broke in here and led the group indoors to a more safer area.
Max breathed a sigh of relief, "That so scary, that Earthquake just now was so loud!"
"No, that was not an Earthquake!"
The uncle led the group to the window and looked into the once full of banana trees, "The reason for the vibration just now was actually that thing."
All they saw was a Snorlax lying there with its arms stretched out in the banana forest, sleeping soundly and very comfortably, without any idea of moving.
Seeing this, Ash immediately understood that the shock just now was caused by this Snorlax jumping and turning over in this exact place for some minutes.
"Sure enough, a real Snorlax looks much bigger than the ones in the screen!" This is the first time Max has seen a real Snorlax, the only one he had seen before was the gigantic Alpha Snorlax that belongs to Ash's, the time he had seen during his Silver Conference Championship run.
But Brock smiled and said to Max, "Max, although you may say this one is MASSIVE, this ine is still much more smaller than Ash's powerful Snorlax!"
"Huh? Excuse me, but did I hear that have you a Snorlax?"
The uncle looked at Ash and gave him a hopeful bow, "Please help us. Ever since this guy entered our place by mistake, he has been eating all of our bananas unscrupulously! He is leaving none!
The Slakoths that have always lived here had their favorite and only food, the bananas, taken away from them, and they now they have no ability to resist! This Snorlax's behavior is even got worse and worse. He ate all the bananas near here when he woke up, and then rested when he was full. He is just causing us so much property and visitor damage!
The poor Slakoths here can only hide in the remote corners of the park, eat the squashed leftover bananas, and never let anyone see them again! If this continues, the once world famous Banana Slakoth Garden will he no more!"
The guy seemed truly distressed about their situation right now.
Max also felt very disappointed, "I've been looking forward to seeing all the Slakoths here! Big Bro, can you do something about them?"
"There must be a way to deal with this!"
Ash nodded silently. He would not sit idly by and ignore the matters of Pokémon's like this, especially when they can't deal with them themselves anymore. "But the more important thing to find out now is why did this Snorlax appear here? And what should we do with it after we beat it up?"
"Yeah, Snorlax are normally known to stay in the deeep mountains and rarely appears at the a far distance from a mountain like this." Brock also nodded after hearing Ash's questions. It would be best if Snorlax could be sent back, but it seemed impossible, even if they catch it. The closest mountain area where a Snorlax could live without having any food issues or disturbing the natural environment was weeks away from here.
"By the way, now that you do mention it, I remember that there was a large-scale forest development on that mountain not long ago. But that place isn't even recognizable anymore." The uncle, Marcel, reacted. It seems that this was the main reason why this Snorlax appeared here.
Ash shook his head, "Ho-Oh's greatest hope was for humans and Pokémon to live in harmony, but in the process of human development, conflicts will inevitably arise between the two parties."
Ash looked almost disappointed when taking about this. He had learned enough about Ho-Oh from his three Legendary Beasts, the same exact Pokémon's created by Ho-Oh all those centuries ago.
He looked at the uncle, "Mr. Marcel, I have created a special energy cube recipe for Snorlax here, the same ones that I feed to my own much bigger Snorlax. I can give you a more simplified version of the formula as most of the original materials are rather very expensive and hard to find in the market."
[Master, you didn't make the recipe—I gave it you…] Ciel said almost annoyed.
'Sorry, love. Thanks for that.' Ash said with a sweat.
"Of course! Thank you so much for that, Ash!" Marcel suddenly became happy, especially hearing who Ash really was from the excited Max. He knew someone the likes of Ash would never deceive someone like him, more so that someone like Ash never needed to deceive them in the first place.
As long as he could solve Snorlax's food problem, the biggest issue to him, he would be happy to accept this big guy, he could even turn this Snorlax into another of the main sightseeing centers of this massive garden.
"But how do we catch this Snorlax? In fact, I also thought about fighting that Snorlax head-on, but as soon as I got close, I was attacked by Snorlax's Yawn. I became sleepy and couldn't fight at all."
Ash looked at Brock and they gave each other a smirk, "Although I can easily deal with this, I have a much better idea in mind. When a tribe encounters a disaster, a hero will be born among them, or so that's how it usually goes!"
Under the leadership of Marcel, Ash and the others found the tribe of Slakoths. Max also finally got his wish by seeing such a large number of Slakoths all in one place. He was very excited to be here, and that was still somewhat of an understatement.
"Slakoth, are you willing to defend your homeland for your future?!" Ash shouted loudly to them.
When he first came to the Pokémon world, the very first Pokémon that he he had personally caught was his powerful and heroic Heracross, the one that can now use Bonds Evolutions with him. He was the one who was able to step forward in times of crisis and protect his entire group against the enemy Pinsirs.
And now, he was one of the strongest members of the future Pokémon Masters team, and arguably one of the strongest Heracross' of all time.
"Slakoth, are you willing to defend your homeland along with me!" This was Ash's second cry, just to make sure he doesn't miss anything. He knew that someone special would eventually appear from such a massive gathering, and it will the one to lead them into a new era.
After a while, a Slakoth really jumped out of the trees.
Ash could tell the difference between all the other ones here and this special one just by looking at this little guy. The hair on the top of its head is high and its body looked to be much more stronger and taller than other Slakoths he saw here.
Although Slakoths were famously known for their laziness, they always likes to lie on the ground motionless, to become even more lazy.
But this Slakoths eyes lacked a lot of the laziness that should have been present, but instead it had a lot more ferocity and fighting spirit.
