Pokémon Breeder In One Piece!

Chapter 354: Chapter 354

Alliance Calendar Year 2, June 1st, Pokémon Island.

Madara and Izuna had taken Dak's suggestion and headed to the maritime world. Intrigued by the power of Devil Fruits, they decided to explore the New World, where Devil Fruit users were most concentrated.

For the average shinobi, surviving in the New World was nearly impossible. The natural gap in physical strength made it exceedingly difficult to face its powerful inhabitants. While ninjutsu could be effective in the Paradise region, in the New World—where nearly everyone boasted immense endurance and wielded Armament Haki—it often fell short.

However, for Madara and Izuna, these challenges were far less daunting.

Their ninjutsu was on an entirely different level compared to other shinobi. They excelled in taijutsu and kenjutsu, both of which aligned well with the dominant combat styles of the maritime world. Most critically, their dojutsu enhanced their physical capabilities significantly.

Madara's enhancements, in particular, were twice as strong as Izuna's, putting his physical abilities on par with New World elites.

Moreover, Madara had already awakened the Rinnegan, elevating his physical and combat prowess to unprecedented levels.

With these advantages, the two brothers could hold their own even in the New World.

Meanwhile, Dak had arrived at Akihiko's research facility.

Kayaba had long dreamed of witnessing a massive floating castle suspended in the sky. After arriving on Pokémon Island, he quickly visited Angel City, a floating island.

While impressed by the existence of such an island, Kayaba felt disappointed—it didn't match his vision of a grand castle. He inquired with people from both the maritime and shinobi worlds but found no accounts of a "floating castle."

It was then that Vegapunk, with whom Kayaba had grown familiar, gave him a suggestion:

"Build one."

Both Vegapunk and Kayaba deemed this idea feasible.

Currently, Pokémon Island had only four cities. Adding a floating castle to the roster would create a fifth, adding variety to the island's geography.

Thus, Kayaba proposed the "Reconstruct Aincrad Project" to Dak.

The plan was to build Aincrad on Pokémon Island.

Naturally, in the real world, it couldn't be as massive as its virtual counterpart. Constructing and supporting such a structure would be incredibly challenging and time-consuming.

Kayaba's Aincrad would be a scaled-down version—just ten floors in total. The largest floor would be half the size of Alliance City, and the combined area of all ten floors would only be half that of Angel City.

If completed, Aincrad would become the smallest city on Pokémon Island, taking the title from Angel City.

This new structure was dubbed the Tower of Illusion – Aincrad and would be located in the northernmost part of Pokémon Island. It formed an isosceles triangle when connected with Yggdrasil and Alliance City.

When Kayaba shared his plan, Dak immediately had an idea:

"Battle Pyramid."

In the Pokémon world, the Battle Pyramid was a flying pyramid-shaped facility, part of the Battle Frontier. Its head, Brandon, was a trainer who commanded the legendary Regi trio.

The Battle Frontier was essentially a more challenging version of traditional gyms.

In the Pokémon anime, Ash earned no tangible rewards for defeating the seven facilities in the Kanto Battle Frontier—just commemorative symbols and minimal recognition.

These symbols were arguably less valuable than the admiration of Anabel, the Frontier Brain of the Battle Tower. Sadly, young Ash didn't understand what he was missing out on.

Unlike Ash, who regressed over his 20-year journey, Anabel grew into a stunning international police officer, renowned for her beauty.

Dak intended to merge the concepts of the Battle Frontier and Aincrad into one facility.

Unlike the original Battle Frontier, where facilities were scattered globally, all of them would be centralized within Aincrad.

Each floor would house one facility, and challengers would need to clear the current floor to ascend to the next.

The final boss, of course, would be Kayaba Akihiko, the mayor of Aincrad City.

"Kayaba, how about becoming a boss again?"

"...?"

Kayaba looked puzzled as Dak explained the plan.

"Me? But I'm not skilled at Pokémon battles."

Kayaba was intrigued. In the original SAO, he had become the final boss of Aincrad, hiding as Heathcliff. Watching others play was dull; becoming the ultimate challenge was far more satisfying.

However, in the real world, there was no tweaking stats to create an unbeatable persona. He needed to improve his skills as a Trainer.

"Aincrad's construction won't happen overnight. Even with the engineering department and Vegapunk's robots, it'll take at least six months. You have time to improve."

Dak patted Kayaba's shoulder encouragingly. "With your intellect and technical prowess, you can become a top-tier Trainer in no time."

"...True."

Kayaba agreed. He could use Porygon-Z to create a virtual battle environment, analyze recorded battles from tournaments, and practice commanding Pokémon in simulated combat.

This data-driven approach would allow him to refine his strategies and learn optimal moves for various scenarios.

"What about rewards for challengers who succeed?"

"I'll grant them a wish, within reason, using the resources of my research facility," Kayaba replied.

"Sounds fair," Dak nodded. While Kayaba's facility focused mainly on virtual technology, its potential in six months remained uncertain. Dak even suspected Kayaba might create artificial Pokémon in the future.

"What about the battle format? Need referees?"

"No need," Kayaba said, shaking his head. "I won't be devoting most of my energy to training Pokémon. Instead, challengers and their Pokémon will enter a virtual world to face me."

"You mean using virtual data to simulate battles against the challengers?"

Dak raised an eyebrow, surprised but impressed by the idea.

"Exactly. Not only that, but my Pokémon in the virtual world will mirror the challengers' Pokémon but with boosted stats—ten levels higher."

Kayaba smirked mischievously. "You always talk about the bond between Trainers and Pokémon being a mysterious power. Let's see if that bond can overcome the limitations of the virtual world."

"It's true," Dak said confidently, lifting his chin.

"If they can break through those limitations and win, helping them fulfill a wish is a small price to pay." Kayaba chuckled.

"And how do you plan to make Aincrad float?"

"Ever heard of the shells produced on Angel Island? They're extraordinary."

"Jet Shells," Dak replied instantly.

"Correct. Using those shells, combined with large-scale electromagnetic levitation devices, we can easily make the ten-story Aincrad float."

"Alright. I'll help you get the shells, but you'll need Vegapunk's help for the devices and a team of Electric-type Pokémon for power."

Dak recalled Enel from One Piece, who used Jet Shells and his Rumble-Rumble Fruit's electricity to power the massive golden Ark Maxim, making it fly to the moon.

Scaling up the concept for Aincrad would be challenging but not impossible.
