"Boom!"
Under the impact of the Shadow Ball, the Rhyhorn was forced to retreat continuously.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Eevee used Quick Attack to close the remaining distance.
Another Shadow Ball was launched, hitting the Rhyhorn directly.
"Roar!"
An angry roar echoed as blood dripped from the Rhyhorn's tough hide. Glaring fiercely at Eevee, the Rhyhorn charged forward in a rage, using Stomp. The ground trembled and cracked under the power of the move, with the Rhyhorn at its center.
"Jump up and dodge, Eevee!"
Following Tyson's command, Eevee leaped gracefully into the air.
Seeing this, a cunning glint flashed in Rhyhorn's eyes. It had planned for this—activating Horn Attack, it prepared to deliver a decisive blow as Eevee descended.
"Eevee, use Shadow Ball! Follow up with Swift after landing!"
Rhyhorn had underestimated Eevee's mastery of Shadow Ball. As the horn collided with the dark energy, the explosion's force pushed Rhyhorn back.
Taking advantage of the opening, Eevee landed firmly on the ground and unleashed a barrage of Swift. The glowing stars bombarded Rhyhorn relentlessly, forcing its large body to stagger backward.
"Eevee, finish it with another Swift!"
The second wave of glowing stars hit their mark, and Rhyhorn collapsed to the ground.
Eevee, however, remained alert, gazing at a nearby rock behind where the Rhyhorn had fallen.
"Eevee, Shadow Ball on that rock!"
Sensing something amiss, Tyson gave the command. The Shadow Ball flew forward, shattering the rock into a cloud of dust.
Amid the swirling debris, a much larger Pokémon emerged—a Rhydon, its evolved form.
As the dust settled, Rhydon's massive frame became visible, its imposing presence dwarfing even Charizard. At a standard height of 1.9 meters, this elite-level Pokémon exuded raw power.
Eevee stood its ground fearlessly, eyes gleaming with determination. But Tyson knew better.
"You might as well drop the act. No matter how perfect your disguise, your strength gives you away," Tyson said calmly.
This wasn't a real Rhydon at all—it was a Ditto, expertly transformed.
Under the scrutiny of Tyson's system, no disguise could fool him—not even one crafted by Ditto, the master of transformation.
Ditto, realizing it had been discovered, lunged forward in a desperate charge. Though its resolve wavered, it clung to the hope that the human and Eevee might retreat at the last moment.
Tyson, unfazed, smirked. "Charizard, let's show it an elite-level battle."
Releasing his Charizard, the battlefield's atmosphere shifted. The fire-type Pokémon roared as flames began to gather in its maw, eager for the fight.
Ditto froze mid-charge. Under the immense pressure of Charizard's presence, its form flickered. A soft light enveloped the "Rhydon," and moments later, the lavender, amorphous form of Ditto appeared before Tyson.
Tyson studied the Ditto, his interest piqued. This was no ordinary Ditto. Despite its base strength, it had managed to simulate elite-level power, a feat that spoke of extraordinary transformation abilities.
"How about it, little one? Want to come with me and be my partner?" Tyson asked, stepping closer. "You don't have to fight if you don't want to. I'd just ask you to help me with transformations when needed. If you ever want to leave, I won't stop you."
To make his intentions clear, Tyson had his Kadabra establish a telepathic link with Ditto. He wanted Ditto to know it could trust him.
While Ditto hesitated, Tyson pulled out some snacks. "Here, try these. I think you'll like them."
The enticing aroma caught Ditto's attention. Eevee, watching hungrily, could barely hold itself back.
Ditto cautiously took the snacks, glancing at Charizard and Kadabra as if to confirm Tyson's sincerity. After some internal debate and reassurances from the other Pokémon, Ditto nodded in agreement.
As Tyson tossed a Poké Ball, Ditto entered it willingly, sealing the partnership.
Kadabra, observing from the sidelines, shook its head with exasperation. "This Ditto needs some serious training," it thought.
Tyson, however, was thrilled. Checking his system, he reviewed Ditto's profile:
Pokémon: Ditto
Gender: Genderless
Ability: Limber
Strength: Exceptional
Moves: Transform
Although its profile was minimal compared to other Pokémon, Ditto's transformation ability held limitless potential.
Tyson grinned. "Don't worry, Ditto. I'll keep my promise. You won't have to fight unless you want to. But if you ever feel inspired to join the battles, I'll make sure you're ready."
Ditto, meanwhile, happily devoured the remaining snacks, blissfully unaware of Eevee's envious glare.
Tyson chuckled. This Ditto wasn't just a capable partner—it was a foodie at heart. And now, it was part of his team, ready to help him tackle whatever challenges lay ahead.
