"We'll be partners from now on. I look forward to working with you!"

After releasing Ditto from its Poké Ball, Tyson offered it some snacks, hoping to earn its obedience quickly. Naturally, Eevee and Mankey got their share of treats too—Tyson didn't want to risk Ditto's snacks being intercepted before reaching its mouth.

"Alright, let's move on!"

Tyson placed Ditto on his shoulder, cradled Eevee in his arms, and carried Mankey. At this moment, he began to regret his lack of physical training, enviously recalling Ash Ketchum's seemingly superhuman stamina. If only he had even a tenth of Ash's endurance, he wouldn't feel so burdened.

Fortunately, the cave teemed with wild Pokémon, giving Eevee and Mankey plenty of opportunities to battle and spar. With his hands now free of two passengers, Tyson felt significantly lighter.

"That's it, Eevee! Keep using Swift and focus on refining your aim!"

"Mankey, use Leer! This technique will definitely come in handy for you in future battles."

While following Tyson's instructions, both Eevee and Mankey couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. They couldn't pinpoint what, though, as their instincts compelled them to act without hesitation.

Standing nearby, ready to teleport at a moment's notice, Kadabra began pondering whether teaching Ditto to be more clever was truly wise. After all, if Ditto's intelligence increased, wouldn't Eevee and Mankey need lessons too? And perhaps even Charizard?

Yet, Kadabra found itself conflicted. It noticed that Eevee and Mankey's simpler thinking seemed to foster better synergy with Tyson during battles. Was their current level of understanding an advantage after all?

Due to the cave's environment, it was impossible to tell day from night.

Other trainers might rely on watches or communicators, but Tyson didn't need such tools—Eevee's impeccable internal clock never failed him.

As he lit a fire and began preparing dinner, the enticing aroma of the broth filled the air. Ditto, having eaten little since joining the team, stared longingly at the pot, drooling uncontrollably.

In addition to broth, Tyson grilled fish and prepared skewers, showcasing his full culinary range to appeal to Ditto's taste buds.

When dinner was served, Ditto's eyes lit up after its first bite of the delicious meal. On impulse, it tried to transform into Snorlax to eat more, only to remember that transformation affects only appearance and skills—not physical capacity or appetite. Disheartened, Ditto abandoned the idea.

Over the next two days, Tyson continued exploring the depths of Cerulean Cave, though he failed to find the Pokémon he sought. However, the increasingly strong wild Pokémon provided him with valuable training points and resources for his water-type Pokémon.

"Alright, after this final battle, we'll head back to Cerulean City to resupply before continuing our journey," Tyson decided, stretching his arms.

"Ditto, you stay here with me. Kadabra, use your psychic powers to stir the water. Eevee and Mankey, prepare to engage!"

"Come on out, Charizard! This opponent will be worthy of your strength."

Charizard emerged from its Poké Ball, roaring as flames surged around it. It instinctively used Flamethrower upon entry—a strategy Tyson had taught to give it an edge in wild battles.

As Kadabra stirred the water with Psychic, various water Pokémon surfaced. Among them, the most striking was a Golduck with elite-level strength!

Encountering Golduck in Cerulean Cave was rare, and finding one of elite rank was an even greater opportunity. This would be the perfect finale for their expedition.

"Eevee, use Helping Hand on Charizard! Kadabra, disrupt Golduck's focus with Confusion!"

"Charizard, attack with Air Slash, then use your charged Flamethrower to close the distance and keep up the pressure!"

While Golduck retaliated, Kadabra's psychic influence managed to hinder its movements, allowing Charizard to connect with an Air Slash, leaving a visible wound. Although the attack failed to cause flinching, Charizard's agility and charged Flamethrower soon gave it the upper hand, even against a type disadvantage.

Eevee and Mankey focused on handling the other Pokémon. Eevee's Shadow Ball and Swift provided consistent firepower, while Mankey used Leer to weaken their defenses. Kadabra teleported around the battlefield, disrupting their coordination with its Exchange Field.

"Kadabra, teleport behind that Seaking and strike with Psybeam!"

Following Tyson's command, Kadabra reappeared behind the targeted Seaking, unleashing a colorful beam of psychic energy. The attack left Seaking confused, causing it to lash out at nearby allies.

The resulting chaos shifted the tide in Tyson's favor. Eevee capitalized on the confusion with precise Shadow Ball attacks, while Charizard's relentless assault kept Golduck on the defensive.

Watching the teamwork unfold, Ditto's eyes gleamed with admiration. Having lived in Cerulean Cave, it had never seen such coordinated battles before. Seeing multiple Pokémon work together to outmaneuver stronger opponents left Ditto both amazed and inspired.

Tyson, unaware of Ditto's thoughts, focused on directing the final strikes. Victory was within reach, and he intended to seize it.
