020: Conquering the Shiny Fomantis! Excellent Potential

Qin Yun carefully approached the Shiny Fomantis, while Ripple started contacting her fellow Pokémon Enforcers.

The Pokémon captured from the hunters needed to be returned to their natural habitats or reunited with their families. Coordinating such efforts required the help of her team, ensuring a smooth transition for the rescued Pokémon.

"I wonder what Qin Yun is doing right now."

Ripple found herself thinking about the young trainer again. His composure, strength, and decisiveness in battle had impressed her deeply. If he were a university student, he'd undoubtedly be at the top of Jiang Cheng's rankings.

Curious about his progress, she stepped back into the truck.

Inside, she saw Qin Yun and his Pokémon companion, Kirlia, interacting with the Fomantis. The small Grass-type, previously wary, was now happily munching on an Energy Cube.

Being a wild Pokémon, Fomantis had never tasted such refined food before. The delicious treat had quickly won its trust.

Kirlia stood nearby, chest puffed out with a proud expression, as if waiting for praise.

Qin Yun smiled and handed another Energy Cube to Kirlia, who eagerly accepted it.

Ripple watched the scene unfold and nodded. It was clear now Fomantis had fully accepted Qin Yun.

"Congratulations on gaining a powerful partner," Ripple said, offering her sincere admiration.

"Thanks," Qin Yun replied casually. His attitude toward Ripple remained neutral she was beautiful and seemed trustworthy, but he had learned not to trust people too easily.

Turning his attention back to Fomantis, he crouched down and extended his hand.

"Fomantis, be my partner."

The small Pokémon hesitated, glancing at Kirlia as if seeking reassurance. Seeing Kirlia's encouraging nod, Fomantis hesitated no longer and placed its tiny, leaf-like hand in Qin Yun's palm.

Its touch was soft, almost delicate.

A satisfied smile crossed Qin Yun's face as he retrieved an empty Poké Ball, ready to finalize the capture.

A beam of red light enveloped Fomantis, pulling it inside. The Poké Ball shook on the ground, causing a moment of tension.

Qin Yun held his breath.

After a few seconds, the Poké Ball stopped moving with a confirming ding.

The capture was successful.

Qin Yun exhaled in relief, picked up the Poké Ball, and unconsciously did a slight celebratory motion.

"Finally got you."

Just then, a notification flashed in his mind.

If Fomantis could later learn Sunny Day to trigger Solar Beam instantly, it would be a game-changer. Combined with Synthesis for rapid healing, its battle potential was immense.

With a flash of white light, Fomantis emerged from the Poké Ball.

Now recognizing Qin Yun as its official trainer, its demeanor had completely changed it looked at him with admiration instead of fear.

Fomantis let out a soft sound, its tone almost like a purring meow, giving off an unexpectedly cute impression.

Standing at only 30 centimeters tall, it barely reached Qin Yun's knee. The tiny, brightly-colored Pokémon looked both adorable and noble, its purple hue shimmering under the truck's lights.

Unable to resist, Qin Yun gently scooped up Fomantis into his arms.

Holding such a rare and powerful Pokémon felt surreal. With Fomantis now on his team, his journey had just taken a major leap forward.

"You're home now."

Qin Yun whispered softly, stroking Fomantis' leaf-like head.

As he lay down to sleep, he held his two Pokémon close Kirlia on his right, Fomantis on his left.

A warm feeling filled his heart.

The sun rose over Jiang Cheng, casting golden light over the city.

At school, excitement filled the air. Today was an important day the six-school joint entrance examination would take place at Jiang Cheng Gymnasium under the guidance of the head teacher.

Students whispered among themselves.

"I heard that to foster a trainer capable of challenging Jiang Cheng No.1 High, the six schools pooled their resources to provide a rare reward."

"Yeah! They're offering a Medium-Potential Starter Pokémon as the grand prize!"

"A medium-potential starter? If I could get that, my journey would be set!"

"Hah, don't get ahead of yourself. The reason they're offering such a valuable prize is because of the principal of Jiang Cheng No. 2 High School."

"The principal? Why?"

"His son is a prodigy one of the best trainers in Jiang Cheng. He's already received a high-potential Pokémon from his family. The competition is basically made for him."

"Ugh, I envy kids with rich parents…"

Listening to their conversation, Qin Yun narrowed his eyes.

"A medium-potential Starter Pokémon? I wonder which one… If it's suitable, I might just add it to my team."

Qin Yun clenched his fist in determination.

Winning the championship was now his next goal.

"Even if I don't win first place, the top sixteen get a 200,000 PokéCoin voucher for Jiang Cheng Plaza. That alone would be worth it."

As students continued discussing, the atmosphere suddenly shifted.

Silence fell over the group as a graceful figure appeared at the classroom door.
