Pokemon system: strongest champion

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Summer Camp, The Beginning of a DreamKanto Region, Pallet Town

Summer had arrived—a perfect time for children to attend summer camp. To enrich their children's future journey as Pokémon trainers, most residents of Pallet Town commissioned the esteemed Professor Oak to organize a summer camp. Ever generous and passionate about nurturing young talent, Professor Oak gladly agreed to host it free of charge.

On a sunny morning, most of the town's children gathered outside Professor Oak's laboratory, buzzing with anticipation for the adventure ahead. Among the lively group, one calm and composed boy stood out distinctly from the rest.

He had short black hair partially hidden beneath a red cap. He wore a black sleeveless vest under a red jacket, black training gloves, blue trousers, and clean white sneakers. This boy was named Mason.

But Mason was different—he was not originally from the Pokémon world. He hailed from another universe entirely, a world known as Earth.

His life in that previous world had not been a happy one. A broken family and emotional neglect made him feel like a stranger in his own home. He learned to fake smiles, especially when discussing the one thing that still sparked joy in his heart—Pokémon. But reality often crushed such joys. If he wanted to survive in his harsh, indifferent world, he had to abandon what others deemed "childish dreams."

Then, fate intervened.

One day, while walking home, Mason witnessed a terrible accident about to unfold—a young girl stood frozen in the path of an oncoming truck. Without hesitation, Mason rushed in to save her. He managed to push her to safety but was fatally struck himself.

That act of selflessness didn't go unnoticed.

His soul, pure and kind, was drawn into a new world—a world filled with wonder and beauty: the Pokémon world. Reborn in Pallet Town of the Kanto Region, Mason now lived as the twin brother of a fiery boy named Ash.

From a young age, Mason awakened two incredible powers—Psychic abilities and Aura (Wave Power). His natural talent astonished even Professor Oak, who was widely regarded as a leading authority in Pokémon research.

Concerned for Mason's safety, Professor Oak made sure to keep his abilities a secret from the public, wary of evil organizations that might target him.

(It's already been seven years since I came to this world... Pokémon really are incredible creatures. You can't understand them fully until you see them with your own eyes.)

"Mason! You're still as antisocial as ever~"

A familiar voice snapped Mason from his thoughts. He looked up slightly to see Gary Oak—Professor Oak's grandson and one of his few genuine friends—grinning at him.

"Yeah, bro! You're finally here. Don't be so cold!" Ash chimed in as he ran over, clearly excited.

"Well, since you both asked..." Mason replied, offering a faint but genuine smile. Smiling didn't come easily for him, but Ash and Gary were among the rare few who could bring it out.

Not long after, Professor Oak arrived and officially kicked off the summer camp. While most of the kids were excited, Mason found it rather boring.

The group hiked into the forest behind the mountain, where Professor Oak began explaining various facts and safety tips relevant to Pokémon training. The children, eager and full of questions, soaked in the information, and Professor Oak patiently answered every one of them.

That was part of what made him so beloved in Pallet Town—his kindness and humility despite his fame.

However, not every child was focused.

Mason and Ash stood out as exceptions. Mason already knew most of the material, having studied far beyond their level. Ash, on the other hand, was simply too excitable to sit still or pay attention.

Professor Oak could only sigh—both boys were rulebreakers in their own ways. Despite being twins, their personalities couldn't be more different.

Mason wasn't just the most intelligent among the Pallet Town boys—he was also the most striking in appearance. But others often misunderstood his quiet demeanor as coldness. In truth, Mason didn't enjoy small talk or crowds. Yet to those close to him, he was deeply loyal and warm-hearted.

Professor Oak often mused whether Delia, Ash and Mason's mother, had passed all her best traits to Mason. The boy had become his assistant at the mere age of five, driven not only by curiosity but also a desire to help support his family.

By age seven, Mason had already authored three groundbreaking research papers: The Multiple Evolutions of Eevee, The Understanding of Fairy Attributes, and The Theory of Pokémon's Hidden Abilities. Though the papers were published under the pseudonym Oak Syracuse, sharp-eyed readers noticed they had been written by a young prodigy named Mason, with Professor Oak simply providing oversight.

These publications revolutionized research not just in Kanto, but across all regions, especially in understanding Fairy-types and Eevee's unique evolution paths.

"Mason, where are you going?" Professor Oak called, noticing that Mason had silently slipped away from the group and was heading deeper into the forest.

While Mason's abilities could keep him safe, he was still a child, and Oak felt a sense of responsibility.

"Don't worry, Professor. I'm not going to do anything dangerous," Mason replied coolly.

But Oak wasn't convinced. He had seen Mason train—racing with Arcanine, creating Aura Spheres effortlessly, even using his mind to slow a Mach 2-speed Pidgeot mid-flight. Mason might act calm, but he was anything but cautious.

"I'll be back in half an hour," Mason added. "You know I don't enjoy playing with those brats."

Before the professor could protest, Mason vanished using Teleport.

"You're still a child too, you know..." Professor Oak muttered with a sigh.

Away from the others, Mason inhaled the fresh forest air, relieved to escape the noisy camp. He felt truly at peace.

But the peace didn't last long.

Through his Aura senses, Mason detected a group of adults lurking deeper in the woods. Leaping into the trees with ease, he soon spotted them—a team dressed in black uniforms with a large red "R" emblazoned on their chests.

Team Rocket.

"What the... What are they doing here?" Mason whispered to himself, narrowing his eyes.

He considered reporting back to Professor Oak but quickly dismissed the idea. Time was tight, and losing sight of the group could cost him vital information.

Silently, he used Teleport again to close the distance.

"Captain, are you sure there's any trace of Mew in this forest?" one grunt asked nervously, holding a scanning device.

"Shut it!" the captain snapped. "Do you doubt what Professor Xemu said?!"

The name sent a chill down the grunt's spine. Professor Xemu, a mysterious new scientist recently recruited by Giovanni, was feared even among Rocket's elite. Little was known about him—only that he was responsible for a series of secret experiments and wielded tremendous influence within the organization.

"Mew...? Professor Xemu?" Mason murmured. This wasn't part of any plot he remembered. Though this world resembled the one from the anime, Mason had long since realized it wasn't identical.

Things were diverging.

And if Team Rocket was chasing after Mew already, then something big was brewing beneath the surface.
