After receiving Kris's confirmation, Sato's concerns finally eased. As he looked again at the Pokémon Egg in her hands, a hint of fervor flashed in his eyes.
This egg wasn't ordinary by any means.
Using his system's detection feature, Sato discovered that the Pokémon inside not only possessed astonishing potential but also had inherited impressive moves.
If his guesses were correct, this Pokémon Egg must have come at a great cost to Kris.
Indeed, the Pokémon developing inside had a profound connection to the iconic Pikachu that ran through the entire Pokémon series.
It was none other than Pichu, Pikachu's pre-evolution—a cute, high-potential little Pichu.

When Sato saw Pichu's stats for the first time, he was as shocked, as if hit by an earthquake. A Pichu with such terrifying potential might even rival Ash's Pikachu.
What made it even more extraordinary was that this Pichu started at a higher baseline than Ash's Pikachu.
Before even hatching, it had already inherited Wish, an exceptional healing move, and Volt Tackle, an extremely powerful offensive move.
As someone who grew up watching Pokémon, Sato had always harbored a special fondness for Pikachu. As a child, he often dreamed of embarking on thrilling adventures with Pikachu by his side.
Now, Sato had only one thought in his mind: no matter what, he had to defeat these two proud League elite trainers and obtain this precious Pichu Egg.
This determination burned brightly within him, intensifying his fighting spirit and sharpening his focus. His intensity and change in demeanour was quickly noticed by both of them.
Sato's journey from Pewter City, though somewhat short, had been packed with battles and adventures far beyond the experiences of average trainers.
His recent grueling battle with Darkrai had especially forged him, both mentally and spiritually, into a new person.
Patt, originally arrogant, began to grow serious. Unlike some pampered heirs in his family, he had chosen not to idle away in Pokémon academies but to venture out into the world.
Patt's pride wasn't baseless. At the academy, he consistently ranked among the top students, and with steady progress, he was on track to graduate with honors and secure a spot in the Hoenn League.
But three months before graduation, Patt had opted to forgo the exams and venture out on his own. Over the past month, he had collected six Gym Badges from some of Hoenn's toughest Gyms.
His starter Treecko had evolved into a formidable Sceptile, and he had captured several strong Pokémon. Among his peers, Patt was undoubtedly a standout.
Yet today, he realized he had encountered a peer much similar to himself, someone whose background was far less privileged.
This left him with a sense of unexpected defeat.
Sato's aura—distinct to powerful trainers—was something Patt had only ever felt around accomplished and confident professionals.
(I know, all this aura BS is kinda annoying but I already tried to improve it as best as I could without making it too distracting and/or annoying.)
It filled him with both awe and an odd sense of inferiority.
Kris, too, was having second thoughts. Initially full of confidence, she now kind of regretted underestimating this peer who suddenly seemed formidable.
"I'll go first. My sincerest apologies, Mr. Sato. I was overly presumptuous earlier. Please forgive me, and let's battle with everything we've got," Patt said, nodding politely at Sato.
"No problem. Lead the way. Let's have a one-on-one Pokémon battle," Sato replied, slightly surprised at Pat's sudden shift in demeanor.
In the city park's public battlefields, the three quickly found a suitable arena. As soon as the battle began, a small crowd of spectators began gathering.
"Come out, Swampert!"
"Go, Sceptile!"
Kris acted as the referee. At her signal, both trainers released their Pokémon. Swampert and Sceptile faced off, their intense gazes locking before launching into battle without awaiting commands.
...

....
Sceptile showcased its immense battle prowess from the start. It used Agility to enhance its speed and began firing Seed Bombs at Swampert to maintain its distance.
However, Swampert countered deftly. Using Ice Punch and the muddy terrain it had created earlier, it built ice walls to block Sceptile's vision before tunneling underground with Dig.
"Use Leaf Blade around your feet! Force it out!" Patt shouted, immediately guessing Swampert's strategy.
Sceptile obeyed, its arm blades glowing as it slashed the ground. Deep cracks appeared around it, eventually forcing Swampert to emerge—but not without suffering deep cuts from Leaf Blade.
"Swampert, no need to evade! Close in and hit with Ice Punch! Full Power!" Sato commanded, his calm voice masking a rising excitement.
Sceptile charged in for another Leaf Blade, but Swampert met it head-on. It parried the attack with one icy fist and landed a devastating crushing blow with the other to Sceptile's midsection.
Sceptile didn't even have time to cry out before being flung several meters away, crashing into a wall.
It was knocked-out cold.
One punch. Just one punch.
This decisive victory left Patt, Kris, and the surrounding spectators in stunned silence.
It was a humbling moment for Patt, who realized the grave mistake of letting Sato's Swampert engage in close combat.
