Chapter 103: Chapter 103 – A New Office Location
Chapter 103 – A New Office Location
Hearing Asahi's words, Green asked in confusion, "Then what are we going to do?"
Since Asahi already suspected that there was something off about Saffron Gym, but he wasn't bringing a team, did that mean they were just going to confront it head-on by themselves?
As it turned out, that was exactly Asahi's plan.
"We'll just head over directly."
This time, he had a perfectly valid reason to visit.
With Giovanni, he had to tread carefully. But when it came to Sabrina? He had no reason to hold back.
Sure, Sabrina was a Psychic Prodigy, but his Gardevoir wasn't weak either.
If it came down to a battle of psychic power, his Mega Evolved Gardevoir with the Psychic-Type Plate would definitely surpass Sabrina!
But before going to Saffron Gym, there was one more thing he needed to take care of.
"Green, didn't you say before that having our headquarters in Indigo Plateau was too inconvenient? I thought about it and realized you had a point. So, I asked Lance to set up a safe house for our Kanto branch here in Saffron City."
Green was momentarily stunned. She had only casually complained about it before—she hadn't expected Asahi to take it so seriously and actually do something about it.
However, Green quickly became excited about the safe house Asahi had mentioned.
[I wonder what the safe house will be like…]

On the Outskirts of Saffron City – In Front of a Small Estate
After undergoing fingerprint and iris scans, Asahi entered the estate that he had recently asked Lance to acquire.
"This is… the safe house you were talking about?" Green's eyes were filled with disbelief.
As one of Kanto's largest and most developed cities, Saffron had sky-high real estate prices.
When Asahi first mentioned setting up a safe house here, Green had assumed it would be just that—a small house.
But now, standing in front of this estate, she couldn't help but be amazed.
Does our Kanto branch actually have this much funding?!
She had even worried before about whether she and Asahi were overspending on expenses.
But looking at this now… she had clearly been thinking too small.
Asahi was quite satisfied with Green's reaction, but he still felt the need to clarify:
"Normally, there's no way we could have secured such a large safe house."
"But… since the Kanto branch was practically on the verge of collapse, the International Police Headquarters approved a reconstruction budget. I asked Lance to allocate part of that budget to establish this safe house."
"Come on, let's take a look inside. The Indigo Plateau is full of Team Rocket spies, so we'll be using this place as our main office for the foreseeable future."
"Since we can't be sure who in the League is trustworthy, the entire estate is currently being maintained exclusively by Pokémon."
As Asahi spoke, several Pokémon that had received the message emerged from the estate to greet them.
Two Gallade, one male and one female, stepped forward.
Because she had joined the International Police and might be deployed to other regions, Green had been studying Pokémon from different regions lately.
After carefully observing them, she realized that Gallade was a Pokémon rarely seen in Kanto.
"They must be from Galar, right?"
Asahi nodded. "Yes, they're from Galar. I specifically requested them from the International Police Headquarters. Don't underestimate them—they're both Gym Leader-level Pokémon, and they're also official employees of the International Police."
"They're the ones managing this estate."
Green was surprised. Pokémon could be official employees of the International Police?
The two Gallade, upon seeing Asahi, immediately recognized him.
The male Gallade greeted him with a polite bow. Meanwhile, the female Gallade, feeling a bit shy under Green's gaze, fidgeted with her hands in front of her.
Asahi smiled and greeted them before turning to Green. "Come on, let's go inside and take a look."
The estate Asahi used as a temporary office wasn't very large, about the same size as the Cerulean Gym.
However, its facilities were remarkably complete.
There was an office area, a dining hall, a training ground, a medical room, a research lab, and even an indoor botanical garden designed for Pokémon to live in.
Aside from moving some equipment from the Indigo Plateau headquarters, Asahi had also used Steven's connections to order a security system from Devon Corp. to ensure the safety of the safe house.
As he gave Green a tour of the estate, Asahi asked, "What do you think?"
"It's even more comprehensive than I expected," Green said, though she was a bit puzzled. "But… with just the two of us, do we really need a safe house this big?"
"There's still Bill, and I'm already working on recruiting more people," Asahi replied.
He had always intended to build a team.
Previously, Professor Sakuragi and Bill had only been trial additions.
After all, he couldn't just sit around waiting for his former colleagues to return. If they never came back, would the Kanto branch remain an empty shell forever?
He already had a few candidates in mind.
Hearing that Asahi had a plan, Green didn't press further.
She took a snack from a nearby Indeedee, took a bite, and her face lit up with delight. "This is delicious! Did you make it?"
"Ai~!"
The female Indeedee nodded happily, indicating that there was plenty more.
Meanwhile, the male Indeedee was busy inside the estate, directing a Mow Rotom in the shape of a Cherrim to trim the greenery.
Just as Asahi was about to release his own Pokémon and enjoy the dessert, his phone suddenly rang.
He had assumed it was Misty calling, but when he picked up, the communicator displayed Lance's face.
"Lance? What's up?"
Asahi was in a good mood—his new office had exceeded expectations.
But Lance's tone was serious. "Asahi, where are you right now?"
"I just arrived at the safe house in Goldenrod City. Why?"
Noticing something was off in Lance's voice, Asahi became a bit more serious.
When Lance heard that Asahi was in Goldenrod, he visibly relaxed and quickly said, "Perfect. Head to Silph Co. headquarters immediately. I'll explain everything on the way!"
It was the first time Asahi had heard Lance speak in such a tone, which surprised him.
Hearing that Lance wanted him to go to Silph Co., Asahi couldn't help but speculate…
Silph Co… Could it be that Team Rocket has really made a move against them?
