NOVEL ONLINE FREE Chapter 4: Hunt for a vampire
Rian entered the cafeteria with much on his mind, his thoughts on what happened earlier during the day. He had made up his mind, tonight he would go out in search of the vampire he saw earlier that day. He was so distracted he hadn't even heard Bella when she called out to him. Bella walked over to him touching his shoulder causing him to lose his train of thought. He looked over his shoulder seeing her with a concerned expression.
"I'm fine just a lot on my mind, how were you're classes. I saw you were talking to that boy during biology...it was Edward right, at least I think that's what the teacher called him."
Bella sighed and grabbed a tray while processing her thoughts. She was reminded how Edward covered his nose the moment the fan blew over her.
"It was fine I guess. Hey Rian do I smell?"
Rian looked at her like she grew a second head. He thought she was pulling his leg. Though he thought she was off her rockers he leaned in. *Sniff*
"No Bella you don't smell, did someone say you did?"
Bella shook her head muttering for him to leave it. She turned to the food bar filling her tray with what she called 'health food', she barely had any meat on her tray. Rian himself had piled his plate with nothing but meat with the exception of a single apple. They paid for their food and went looking for a table.
"Hey Bella over here!"
Rian turned his head to see Jessica, mike, and Angela waving at Bella. He looked at her and she nodded. With that both walked over to the table and sat down. Mike was glaring at Rian with a gaze Rian wasn't sure how to take. While both Jessica and Angela were looking at him with curiosity. Bella took this chance to introduce him.
"Rian, we met this morning but this is Jessica, Angela, and Mike. Guys this is my brother Rian."
Mike was still glaring but reluctantly said hello. Angela, and Jessica took turns asking questions some of which were really personal, such as was he single, what color his underwear was all of which he ignored. As he was about to answer another question he caught a sweet smell. He looked towards the entrance of the cafeteria, just as his eyes landed on the doors they opened and in walked 5 very pale individuals.
He heard Bella mutter something but he wasn't paying attention. His eyes landed on Alice and Jasmina who both met his gaze, Alice waved happily and Jasmina nodded stoically. Rian smiled and waved at them before turning back to his food, only to notice the stares from Jessica and Angela. He quickly ate his food and left.
What he didn't notice was the worried look Alice was giving him while Jasmina's gaze followed him till he was out of sight. The rest of Rian's day was a blur, he couldn't pay attention in class, he even did his work on auto pilot. Once he and Bella left school and got home he immediately went to his room.
Once night had fallen Rian quietly left the house, he turned around and drew a sentence in runes casting a large scale protection spell upon the house. He the left heading for the school, once he was out of view he stopped. He let his magic run through his body, from his head grew two purple horns, his eyes turned to slits, his nails grew into dark purple claws, and from his back two large wings.
He flexed his wings with a sigh of relief.
'I hate not being able to use them more often.'
He flapped his wing's taking to the sky, it took less than five minutes to find himself hovering over the forest at the schools edge where he landed softly. He walked deeper into the forest folding his wings he looked around seeing nothing. *Sniff* the moment he scented the area he gagged and a sickly burnt sweet scent hit his nose but with is appeared a red line leading away from the school deeper into the forest.
He followed the trail at a sprint dodging branches and jumping over fallen trees. He finally came upon a large clearing. He took in the sight seeing a cave, he frowned seeing the trail lead inside. Before going any further he sent a pulse of magic into his ring transforming it into a long red spear with a skinny long blade at the tip. He sent another pulse into his necklace, covering his body in a purple light. When the light disappeared he was wearing a long purple duster with golden trim, he had a chest piece with a single pauldren on his right shoulder. On his arms and legs were arm guards and shin guards following the same purple and gold colors. On his chest an emblem was carved, two red spears crossed behind a golden dragons head.
Once he was prepared he slowly made his way towards the mouth of the cave. He was about to step inside when he heard a twig snap behind him. He quickly lashed out with a spinning kick sending the vampire flying into a tree. He took a second to analyze his opponent. He was skinny with black hair and blood red eyes, he was wearing what used to be what he assumed was a suit. It was shredded and had holes in the arms and legs while dirt and grime covered the rest of it.

Rian twirled his spear as black lightning covered it's blade, taking his stance he lowered the point of his spear. He never took his eyes off the vampire as he gripped his spear tightly, he sprang forward thrusting the spear at a blinding speed. The vampire Jared jumped back on instinct lowering his body and hissed, while eyeing the spear he could feel the danger it posed. He could feel his death if that thing hit him.
Jared sprang forward quickly while throwing a punch, Rian leaned slightly to the left and retaliated with a swipe of his clawed left hand. He then adjusted his grip on his spear bringing the butt around smacking Jared in the head sending him stumbling back. He then brought the blade around in a sweep, sliceing the vampires cheek, not giving Jared time to counter he brought the spear back and thrust at Jared's chest instantly impaling him through the heart. The moment the spear pierced Jared's heart black lines spread outwards, he pulled his spear back stabbing it into the ground.
Rian then proceeded to tear him into pieces piling the pieces inside the cave. Just as he was about to set fire to the corpse he heard a slight whimper inside. Putting off burning the body he walked further inside spotting a massive wolf corpse it was completely white barring the blood staining the fur. It was at least 4 meters long and the teeth as thick as his wrist. Beside the dead wolf was a smaller wolf also pure white with ice blue eyes curled up next to it.
He walked forward alerting the cub which stood up and started growling. He slowed and knelt down holding out his hand and waited, the wolf pup slowly relaxed and moved forward sniffing his hand. Rian slowly moved his hand and stroked it's fur marveling it's sheer softness, he then picked up the cub bringing it to his face. The wolf pup barked licking his face bringing to his face a crooked smile. He walked back to the entrance setting the the wolf pup down, he then lifted his hand letting it light up on flames. The flames coalesced into a ball, which Rian tossed onto the body of the vampire which instantly caught fire.
He then turned to the wolf pup which was staring at him, he tilted his head and the pup copied his movement. He laughed and shook his head then took a good look at the pup.
"I shall name you Winter, would you like to follow me?"
The pup looked at him and barked as if she understood him. He nodded and picked her up and unfurling his wings took to the sky. After a short flight Rian landed softly in the back yard and quietly enter the house going to his room, after setting Winter down he collapsed on his bed and passed out.
