Re: Player

Chapter 283: [The End!]

"You have to try harder than that," Laplace spoke as his eyes locked at Zero trying his best to attack him. Even though Zero kept improvising, using as many skills as he could, they were all nullified easily by Laplace who simply blocked and parried him.

The angel supported Zero, healing him back to full health everytime he was crushed by Laplace. In the beginning, she tried to attack Laplace as well, but seeing how futile it was, she left the attack to Zero and Luciana, fully focusing on supporting the two from the rear.

But even then, there was much difference as Laplace simply played with the two Fate Weavers as if he were playing with kids. Not even once his eyes looked serious when he was fighting against those two. And even though he took Luciana seriously before, now that he understood her power and limits, he started to take her attacks lightly as well.

-BOOOM!

And then there was the Heaven's Guardian, trying his best to find a blind spot, succeeding in it, but even then, unable to leave a single scratch on Laplace's skin. It was as if a mosquito was trying to bite steel… or something along those lines.

The battle slowly reached a point where the three Fate Weavers were barely keeping themselves together. Unlike Laplace who was still in peak health, they were bruised all over their body, taking injuries that were near impossible to heal under normal circumstances.

"Well. It was fun," Laplace said when he saw the Three Fate Weavers barely able to keep up with him. And since they were tired, things only got boring from this point onwards. So he caught Zero's next attack, holding him by his forearm before he spoke,

"Begone."

And then with a heavy throw that contained a bit of his power, he threw Zero in a random direction, far away from this place. Zero tried holding on, but alas he was too powerless against Laplace. There was nothing he could do other than accepting his fate at this point.

-Whoosh!

"Angel!" Luciana shouted as she saw Laplace reaching right behind Raphi, his eyes focused on her neck before he smiled at the near panicked expression of Raphi. With a sinister expression he spoke,

"Good night."

And then hitting at her neck, aimed to kill her, he pushed her down towards the ground, as her body fell, almost dead, but barely alive.

Laplace was surprised that she survived that close attack, but then thinking how she was both an Angel and a Fate Weaver, he assumed that she might have some life saving skill of some sorts. Enjoy exclusive adventures from My Virtual Library Empire

And with that thought in his mind, he was about to crush Raphi with his foot… but Luciana's next attack made him take a few steps back. He saw that Luciana has yet again used a bit of her essence, albeit this time to protect this Angel as she teleported Raphi just behind her, away from Laplace.

Barely able to stand at her feat, Laplace saw Luciana at her edge as well.

"Just how badly Lirawern scarred you?" Lapalce asked with a pitiful expression as she saw the current state of Luciana. But then again…

"It doesn't matter," he added before looking at the two Titans holding the gods at bay, and the angels and the demons that were barely able to keep the army of giants in check. Still he pondered a bit before commanding a skill,

"Rise."

Then, as if waiting for his command, 12 beings stepped out of darkness. Each of them carries an aura equal to the Gods, if nothing else. Each of them, capable enough to destroy nations if they used all of their powers.

And then, they all bowed, waiting for their master's command.

"Make sure nobody disturbs me," Laplace commanded as the 12 circled around him, aiming to prevent any sort of attack that could be thrown at him. Each of them, marking at least 3 strong enemies that could disturb their master from the direction they were stationed at.

Laplace made a sad expression as he took out a certain feather from his bag. A pitch black feather that seemed to contain an unknown form of energy. Something ominous. Something sinister.

And then pouring his life force into it, he mumbled," now that we already are here… there is no going back."

There was sadness in his eyes, yet he was smiling as he looked at the feather absorbing the energy around it, it seemed as if the feather was absorbing reality itself, slowly crumbling it, breaking it into pieces.

"LAPLACE!!! STOP!!!!!" Luciana shouted with all her might, trying to stop him. But alas she was too weak to even stand on her two legs. There was nothing she could do but watch Laplace activate that artifact in despair.

Laplace's smile turned more evil as he looked at Luciana, and at the sky, at the Primordials that were watching him. Fury was written all over his face, while his body shook in excitement. For the first time properly, he was going to win against those monsters…

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

He laughed as he was finally about to end everything. He was finally going to achieve that nobody else did in this world… and that is… the destruction of this world.

"No… no… NOOOOOOOO!!!!!" The All-Father, who finally noticed what Laplace had done, was devastated beyond belief. His eyes shook at the artifact that Laplace was holding, and the effects it was creating.

"Primordials. I am ending everything here…. It's sad that it has to end this way," Laplace added as he saw Luciana falling on the ground with her feets barely able to support her. The Gods rushed towards him, but were stopped by the Titans.

The end was nigh.

"[World End!]"

And Laplace mumbled as he unleashed the power of that artifact, which soon began breaking the very reality around them. Cracks began appearing where Laplace was standing, slowly spreading towards the sky.

Pieces of reality slowly fell off the sky, revealing the cold black emptiness behind them. Those who looked at the sky lost their will to fight. Even Laplace, who was using that spell, had his eyes shaken, his mouth dry now.

He has used quite a bit of his life force for this… so the regret shouldn't exist. But yet again, in face of death, it would be odd if one doesn't have any second thoughts. Still, Laplae thought about the victory he was about to achieve against the Primordials… destroying the world that they had created and watched over. It made him feel better.

Hopelessness spread throughout the area as they all saw the cracks in the sky spreading slowly, nothing they could do other than watching it all crumble. Their eyes hollowing, their heart beat rose, and with words failing to come out of their mouth, they all just stared at the sky with complete silence.

There was nothing they could have done… or at least that is how it was supposed to be…

"The end, huh?"

A voice echoed within the silence. His blue eyes, still calm as ever, looked at the breaking sky without much worry. With both his hands in his pockets, and that black hair that fluttered against the wind, somehow made him look like he was having fun while at it.

"We can't have that yet," he smiled as he kept observing the sky, while the mana around him shook. As if the entire world slowly bowed to that guy, the mana around him started circling around him at a rapid speed.

"Guys," he called out those around him," I am going to protect the world. Can I trust you all to protect me while I do that, please?"

With a polite request, he gave out a pressed smile before closing his eyes for a few seconds, and then opening it again as it now contained a white star coloured symbol in them.

A white cross shaped star within the deep-blue iris. Those eyes made Laplace scared, all that mana felt made him take a step back, that kid was about to do something that Laplce won't like. Laplace instinctively knew it….

"STOP HIM!!!!" He shouted, commanding his generals, while they ran towards him. Each of them, faster than the other one…

Even still… they were a few seconds too late…
