Reborn in Diamond no Ace

Renji woke before the sun fully breached the horizon, his body a well-tuned instrument, responding to years of ingrained discipline. A pale, pre-dawn light seeped through the thin curtains, illuminating dust motes dancing in the stillness. He moved with practiced silence, dressing and stretching, his movements fluid and precise, a quiet ritual. By the time Ichiro's groggy voice broke the silence, and Shoji's bare feet padded on the floor, Renji had already finished his morning routine.

"Morning already?" Ichiro mumbled, his eyes still half-closed, rubbing the sleep away. "Man, you're an early bird, Renji."

Shoji chuckled, a low, rumbling sound in the quiet room, as he stretched. "Better get used to it. Coach expects us on the ground before the dew dries."

They dressed quickly, the silence of the room punctuated by the rustle of clothing and the quiet snap of buttons. As they stepped outside, the campus was bathed in a soft, ethereal glow. The air was cool and crisp, carrying the scent of damp grass and the faint, sweet aroma of blooming flowers. Renji took a deep breath, the cool air filling his lungs, a sense of anticipation building within him. 

"Go join the line over there Renji" Ichiro told Renji pointing at the group of which he think the first years are standing . "Yes senpai" he replied as he made my way to the freshman's joining there line. He just stood there having his thoughts wander around. 

A couple of minutes passed when he feel a sudden shift of mood around them so Renji look at the front and there stood a man exuding an aura that makes the place suddenly quiet down. He heard people saying good morning greetings to him. 

The man stopped in front of our group together with the person he encountered in the office yesterday in his back. He's a tall and muscular man, wearing a black shades. 

'He looks like a mafia boss' Renji thought to himself chuckling softly. 

"Is this everyone that wants to join the baseball team?" 

"Yes sir!" He got surprised for a bit when people around him replied loudly.

"I am Kataoka Tesshin, Seido High Baseball Coach" he said sternly exuding a pressure that would definitely intimidate timid people. 

"Introduce yourself first in order, starting from you" our coach said looking at the guy in first in line of right corner. 

"I am Miyagawa Shin, I play shortstop and I am good fielder!" "I am Otsubo Kai, First baseman. I bat right pleased to meet you all!" The guys started introducing themselves obviously trying to appeal. to coach.

"I am Tojo Hideaki from Matsukata Senior League I play pitcher!" Another one 

said on which Renji gaze at him for a bit since he said he's a pitcher. 

"I am Kanemaru Shinji, I play fielder I can't wait to practice with you all!" The guy near me said which he take it as a cue to prepare himself since it's almost his turn. When he heard the guy next to him on his right finish introducing himself it's his turn. 

"I'm Renji Arata, Pitcher." he simply said since he don't have anything to blab about. 

The introduction just resumed normally after that but out of the corner of his eye he saw two guys at the corner peeking at group. One of them hears a baseball hat sideways while having eye glasses and the other guy has brown hair. They look like both of them is having a serious conversation. 

'This looks interesting' I thought to myself smirking slightly as I identified the one wearing glasses as Miyuki Kazuya, Seido catcher. I can't help but focus my attention to both of them as they look like they finished their discussion so I'm waiting to see what's gonna happen next. 

The brown haired teen started his dash towards us on which he concluded that the guy is a first year since he's trying to sneak in at our line secretly but before he could succeed the other guy sell him out. 

"Hey this guy is trying to sneak in line because he's late!" Shouted by Miyuki Kazuya so everyone looks at the guy trying to sneak in our line frozen on his track with wide eyes on his face. 

"Hahah" Renji can't help the laugh that manage to escape his lips as he look at him sweating a lot. He's been obviously used as a decoy by Miyuki Kazuya as he saw him now together with the seniors in the line. 

'He's a Black Bellied guy' I thought as I stare at the catcher now laughing at the back of senior line. He felt my gaze on him as he also look my way, I just nod at him and observe the guy being reprimanded by the coach. 

"Go run until practice ends" coach said pointing at the field on him. 

"This guy's roommate too and that idiot standing over there trying to exploit the situation" The coach said looking at Miyuki Kazuya obviously implying he's the idiot coach is talking about. 

He sent them a one last scary look then said "Go run too". Coach sure looks like a member of mafia as time goes by on his eyes. 

"Continue" He said as he looked at the rest of the first years not paying attention to the four guys now running around the field.

— Cafeteria — 

First years are now here at the cafeteria having their breakfast after doing some exercises after the introduction earlier. Coach made them run around the field too and do some physical exercises before instructing them to have their breakfast and go back to the field afterwards.

We have to finish our 3 bowls of rice first after the morning practice . First Years paled at that sight obviously not liking the idea of eating this much after exercise.

Renji saw the guy that tried to sneak in earlier covering his mouth while sweating a lot. 'Is he going to puke?' he wonder as he have seen a lot of reactions around him trying to finish their breakfast.
