reincarnated as a powerful dragon

Chapter 10: recovery

I woke up to the sound of Father's gentle stirring. I peeked out from under his wing, seeing that he was slowly sitting up.

"Father!" I exclaimed, scrambling out from under his wing.

Thyriatrix was by his side in an instant, helping him to steady himself. "Easy, Aetherius," she said. "You're still recovering."

Father nodded, his eyes a bit unfocused. But he was smiling, and that was all that mattered.

I looked up at him, feeling a surge of joy. Father was going to be okay.

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that gave me pause. A hint of worry, of concern.

What was Father worried about?

Father's gaze swept over us, his eyes lingering on each of our faces. "I'm glad to see you all safe," he said, his voice weak but full of emotion.

Thyriatrix helped him to lie back down, and Father closed his eyes, a look of exhaustion washing over him.

"We need to get him to the Heart Tree," Thyriatrix said, looking at us with a serious expression. "The ancient magic there can help him recover."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination. We had to get Father to the Heart Tree.

But as we prepared to leave, I couldn't shake the feeling that Father's worry was more than just about his own recovery.

What was he hiding?

Lyrixa spoke up, "Mother, how long will it take to get to the Heart Tree?"

Thyriatrix thought for a moment, "If we fly, we can be there by nightfall. But we'll need to be careful, the skies are treacherous."

Kaidorix nodded, "I'll scout ahead, make sure it's safe."

Valtor and Nyxoria looked at each other, then back at Mother, "We'll help carry Father," they said in unison.

I looked up at Father, who was watching us with a small smile. I knew he was proud of us, his little dragons, for working together to help him.

With a nod, Mother gestured to Father. "Let's get moving. We have a long journey ahead of us."

We carefully lifted Father onto a makeshift stretcher, made from a large piece of leather and some sturdy branches. Valtor and Nyxoria took the front, with Lyrixa and Kaidorix at the back, while I perched on Father's chest, keeping a close eye on him.

As we set off, the wind ruffled my scales, and I gazed out at the vast expanse of landscape unfolding before us. The sun beat down on us, warming my scales, and I felt a sense of excitement and adventure.

We flew over rolling hills, dense forests, and sparkling lakes, the scenery blurring together as we soared through the skies. Father slept fitfully, his chest rising and falling with each breath.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape, I spotted the Heart Tree in the distance. Its massive trunk glowed with a soft, ethereal light, and I could feel the ancient magic emanating from it.

"We're almost there, Father," I whispered, my voice barely audible over the wind.

Father's eyes flickered open, and he smiled weakly at me. "Thank you, Tharros," he whispered back.

With a final burst of effort, we reached the Heart Tree, settling Father down at its base. The ancient magic enveloped him, and I could see the darkness receding, replaced by a warm, golden light.

As the magic of the Heart Tree washed over Father, his eyes closed, and a peaceful expression settled on his face. I watched, mesmerized, as the light enveloped him, healing his wounds and soothing his spirit.

Thyriatrix settled beside him, her scales glowing softly as she wrapped her wings around him. "Rest, my love," she whispered. "You are safe now."

I snuggled up close to Father, feeling the warmth of the Heart Tree's magic radiating through me. My siblings gathered around, our scales intertwined as we basked in the peaceful energy.

As the night wore on, Father's breathing grew stronger, and his color returned. I could sense his strength and vitality flowing back, like the ebbing tide returning to the shore.

Suddenly, Father's eyes flickered open, and he looked up at us with a warm smile. "My little dragons," he whispered, his voice full of love and gratitude. "I'm so proud of you all."

We nuzzled him, our scales glinting in the soft light of the Heart Tree. I felt a deep sense of joy and contentment wash over me, knowing that Father was safe, and our family was whole once more.

As the magic of the Heart Tree washed over Father, his eyes closed, and his chest rose and fell with a deeper, more peaceful breath. I watched, mesmerized, as the light enveloped him, healing the wounds that had ravaged his body.

Thyriatrix settled down beside Father, her eyes fixed on his face. "Rest now, my love," she whispered. "The Heart Tree will heal you."

I snuggled up close to Father, feeling the warmth of the Heart Tree's magic seeping into my scales. Lyrixa, Kaidorix, Valtor, and Nyxoria settled down around us, their eyes watchful and protective.

As the night wore on, the magic of the Heart Tree continued to work its wonders. Father's breathing grew stronger, his color returning. I could feel his life force growing, his connection to the world around him deepening.

And as I drifted off to sleep, surrounded by my family and the ancient magic of the Heart Tree, I knew that Father was going to be okay.

As the sun began to rise, casting a warm glow over the landscape, Father stirred. He stretched his wings, arching his back and extending his claws. A low rumble emanated from his throat, a gentle growl that spoke of contentment and relief.

Thyriatrix smiled, nuzzling him gently. "Welcome back, my love," she whispered.

Father's eyes opened, and he looked at us with a warm, loving gaze. "My little dragons," he whispered, his voice full of emotion. "I'm so proud of you all."

We nuzzled him, our scales glinting in the morning light. I felt a deep sense of joy and contentment wash over me, knowing that Father was back to his old self.

But as we basked in the warmth of our reunion, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. A faint sense of unease lingered in the back of my mind, a feeling that our troubles were far from over.

Father's gaze swept over us, his eyes lingering on each of our faces. "We need to get back to the nest," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "We have a lot to discuss."

Thyriatrix nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Now that Father is feeling better, we can focus on our future plans," she said.

I felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of new adventures. What did Father have in store for us?

As we prepared to leave, I noticed that Kaidorix was quiet, his eyes fixed on the ground. "Kaidorix, what's wrong?" I asked.

He looked up at me, his expression thoughtful. "I was just thinking about our family's history," he said. "And our place in the world."

Father's eyes lit up with interest. "Go on," he encouraged.

Kaidorix hesitated, then began to speak. "I've been wondering about the ancient stories, the ones about our ancestors and their great deeds."

I leaned in, fascinated. What did Kaidorix have in mind?

Father nodded, his expression thoughtful. "The ancient stories are an important part of our heritage," he said. "They remind us of where we come from and the values that are important to our family."

Kaidorix's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I was thinking that we could learn more about our ancestors," he said. "Maybe explore some of the old ruins and see if we can find any clues about our family's past."

Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes shining with enthusiasm. "That's a wonderful idea, Kaidorix," she said. "I'm sure Father would be happy to take us on a journey of discovery."

Father chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I think that can be arranged," he said. "But first, let's get back to the nest and rest for a while. We can plan our adventure for tomorrow."

I grinned, feeling excited about the prospect of exploring our family's past. I knew that it was going to be an amazing adventure!

I spoke "father are you now fully recovered?"

Father smiled, his eyes warm with gratitude. "Yes, Tharros, I'm feeling much better now. The Heart Tree's magic has worked wonders for me."

He stretched his wings, arching his back in a gentle stretch. "I'm still a bit sore, but I'm confident that I'll be back to my old self in no time."

Thyriatrix nodded, her expression relieved. "We're just glad to have you back, Aetherius," she said. "We were worried sick about you."

Father's gaze swept over us, his eyes shining with love and appreciation. "I'm grateful to have such a wonderful family," he said. "I don't know what I'd do without you all."

Father lay down on the ground, his massive Western dragon body unfolding as he settled in. His albino scales glistened in the sunlight, a radiant white that seemed to glow.

I Squealing with delight, I scrambled onto Father's scales. My own silver scales caught the sunlight, shining brightly as I wriggled with excitement.

Father began to lick me gently, his warm tongue rasping against my silver scales. I giggled, feeling happy and content.

My siblings, Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, and Kaidorix, all gathered around, watching with wide eyes. We were all still young, not even a year old yet, and we loved playing and cuddling with Father.

Thyriatrix smiled, watching us with a warm expression. "You're all so precious," she said, her voice full of love.

As Father continued to lick me, I felt my eyelids growing heavy. The warmth of the sun and the gentle rasping of Father's tongue were making me sleepy.

I snuggled deeper into Father's scales, feeling safe and content. My siblings were all watching us, but they were quiet, mesmerized by the scene.

Thyriatrix settled down beside us, her own scales glistening in the sunlight. She wrapped a protective claw around us, holding us close.

As I drifted off to sleep, I felt grateful for my wonderful family. We were all so lucky to have each other, and I knew that we would always be there to support and love each other.

As I slept, I was vaguely aware of my siblings crawling around me, playing and nuzzling each other. Father and Thyriatrix kept watch, their gentle rustling and soft murmurs a soothing background noise.

After a while, I stirred, stretching my small dragon body. Father and Thyriatrix smiled at me, their eyes warm with love.

"Time for a snack, little one?" Thyriatrix asked, her voice gentle.

I nodded eagerly, my stomach growling with hunger. Thyriatrix chuckled and led me to a nearby patch of tender shoots and leaves.

As we ate, Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, and Kaidorix all gathered around, chomping on their own snacks. Father watched over us, his albino scales glowing in the sunlight.

It was a peaceful, happy moment, surrounded by my loving family.

As we finished our snack, Father stood up, his massive body towering over us. "Who's ready for a flight?" he asked, his voice rumbling with excitement.

My siblings and I all cheered, flapping our small wings eagerly. Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes shining with amusement. "Make sure to stay close to Father," she reminded us.

Father nodded, his claws extended. "Climb on, little ones," he said.

We scampered up his scales, finding perches on his back and shoulders. Father launched into the air, his wings beating powerful and slow.

The wind rushed past us, whipping our scales and sending our wings fluttering. We laughed and shrieked, exhilarated by the thrill of flight.

As we soared through the sky, Father pointed out landmarks and features, teaching us about our territory and the world beyond. We listened, wide-eyed and fascinated, drinking in every word.

As we flew over a sparkling lake, Father suddenly dove downwards, sending us all tumbling through the air. We squealed with delight, our scales glistening with dew as we splashed into the water.

Father surfaced beside us, his albino scales shining like a ghostly apparition. We paddled around him, playing a game of underwater tag.

Thyriatrix joined us, her scales glinting in the sunlight as she swam through the water. She chased after us, sending us all scattering through the lake.

After a while, we all climbed out of the water, shaking our scales and sending droplets flying everywhere. Father and Thyriatrix smiled at each other, their eyes warm with love and contentment.

"That was the best day ever!" Lyriath exclaimed, his scales still dripping with water.

We all nodded in agreement, already planning our next adventure.

As we settled down on the shore, Mother Thyriatrix smiled at us, her light green scales glistening in the sunlight. "I'm so proud of all of you," she said, her voice warm with love.

Father Aetherius, his albino scales shining brightly, nodded in agreement. "You're all growing up to be strong, brave dragons," he said.

I felt happy and content. My silver scales glinted in the sunlight as I felt happy and content. My siblings, Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, and Kaidorix, all smiled and nodded, their scales shimmering in their respective colors - navy blue, dark bronze, amethyst, rose gold, and forest green.

As we basked in the warm sunlight, Father Aetherius began to tell us a story of his own adventures when he was a young dragon. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he spoke of fierce battles and daring quests.

My siblings and I listened with wide eyes, our imaginations running wild with tales of magic and bravery. Mother Thyriatrix smiled, her light green scales glinting with amusement.

As Father finished his story, we all applauded, our claws clicking together in appreciation. "Tell us another one, Father!" Lyriath exclaimed, his navy blue scales shining with excitement.

Father chuckled, his albino scales glinting with pleasure. "Very well, my young ones," he said, settling in to spin another tale.

As Father began to speak, his voice wove a spell of enchantment around us. We listened, entranced, as he told of ancient dragons and forgotten lands.

My silver scales glinted in the fading light, and I felt my imagination soar on the wings of Father's words. My siblings, too, were captivated, their eyes shining with wonder.

Vyraxys, his dark bronze scales glinting with excitement, leaned forward, his claws digging into the sand. Nyxoria, her amethyst scales shimmering with magic, gazed up at Father with wide eyes.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in a warm, golden light, Father finished his tale. We all applauded, our claws clicking together in appreciation.

Mother Thyriatrix smiled, her light green scales glinting with pride. "You have a true gift for storytelling, Aetherius," she said, nuzzling Father's albino scales.

Father chuckled, his eyes shining with pleasure. "It's all for my little ones," he said, smiling at us.

As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, Mother Thyriatrix suggested we settle in for a well-deserved rest. We all nodded, our scales glistening in the moonlight.

Father Aetherius wrapped his massive body around us, shielding us from any potential dangers. Mother Thyriatrix curled up beside him, her light green scales glowing softly.

As I snuggled into the warmth of my family, I felt grateful for this wonderful life. My silver scales shone in the moonlight, and I drifted off to sleep, surrounded by the dragons I loved.

The sound of Father's gentle snores and Mother's soft rustling soon lulled me into a deep sleep. My siblings, too, were fast asleep, their scales glinting in the moonlight.

The night was peaceful, filled with the soothing sounds of nature and the warmth of my family's presence. I knew that tomorrow would bring new adventures, but for now, I was content to simply rest and enjoy the love of my family.

I thought,'I'm a genderless dragon that can get pregnant without a mate, and I decided to try and carry 20-32 baby dragons at once, and I know their would be movements in my belly every day' and I don't mind my pronounced is he/him

I lay in the warm moonlight, my silver scales glistening as I let my mind wander. I thought about my future, about the possibility of carrying large baby dragons. I imagined what it would be like, feeling the tiny stirrings inside me, watching my belly grow as my hatchlings developed.

I kept my thoughts to myself, knowing that my family would be surprised to learn that I, a genderless dragon, could carry baby dragons without a mate. I wasn't ready to share my secret with them just yet.

For now, I just smiled to myself, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and the promise of exciting possibilities to come.

As I drifted off to sleep, my dreams were filled with visions of tiny baby dragons, their scales shimmering in every color of the rainbow. I saw myself, my belly swollen with a large clutch, carefully tending to my precious little ones. I felt a sense of joy and purpose, knowing that I would soon bring new life into the world.

When I woke up, the moon was still high in the sky, casting a silver glow over the landscape. I stretched my wings, feeling a thrill of excitement at the prospect of the adventures to come. Little did my family know, I was on the verge of a journey that would change my life forever.
