Chapter 538: Oppressive Pillar Blueprints
At the height of her guess, Carmen had her fist clenched, clearly anticipating the response from Xu Feng.
And thankfully, Xu Feng didn't beat around the bushes with her as he nodded his head.
"Yes, it's the Oppressive Pillar Blueprints, but a mini version." He corrected her. The mini version was a bit inferior to the actual Oppressive Pillars, but still a great pillar nevertheless as a defensive tool.
Additionally, the blueprints allowed him to construct a whopping three pillars and this drop was extremely rare.
It only had a 5% chance of dropping, but because it was a first clear, the drop chance was tripled, followed by his unorthodox killing.
"This is great!" Carmen smiled brightly. "With the Oppressive Pillars, who could snatch Star Falls City from us?"
Almost instantly, Xu Feng sighed softly and shook his head.
"I complimented you too early, Carmen." He said bitterly.
Why would he ever waste a precious pillar to construct an NPC city?
That was equivalent to throwing your money into the Ocean and watching it sink deep inside.
"Are we not constructing it in the city?" Carmen raised an eyebrow, clearly lost in the process. Of course, that couldn't be blamed since she didn't know more advanced development than one needed to do.
"Sooner or later, once the mainstream players reach level 30 and advance to Tier 1, more maps are open for discovery. But not all maps had towns or cities nearby." Xu Feng took his time and explained carefully.
However, Carmen was still confused and failed to comprehend the meaning.
"It's fine. You don't have to worry about this and just focus on leveling." Chuckling, Xu Feng didn't plan on overwhelming her too much.
To construct a personal guild town or guild city required a ton of prerequisites and he didn't want to hinder her growth. After all, Carmen shone the most when she went solo and didn't have to deal with management types of things.
In the past timeline, Carmen never bothered with Guild Development or anything related to a guild, but that wasn't necessarily bad for her.
With her power alone, even the guilds had to be wary of her, considering that she didn't have to be concerned about businesses and more things if she were to specifically target certain people or things.
'I'll just let Carmen free roam while having her be the biggest protector.' Xu Feng thought to himself. Of course, he wasn't going to use her as a pawn like many others.
Shortly after exiting the Guild Warehouse, Carmen finally yawned and said, "I'm tired now, Guild Leader. I think I'm going to log out for the day."
Nodding, Xu Feng smiled and replied, "Thanks for the hard work. Take a good rest and enjoy your bank account statement."
"Hehe, I definitely will. If not, then you're going to get it." She glared fiercely at him with a grin. A second later though, she vanished from the scene, clearly having logged out of the Divine World.
With Carmen gone, Xu Feng effectively shut off the Guild Residence, ensuring no news was to be leaked out. From the outsider's perspective, this building was just another one of Vanguard Guild's businesses, albeit under construction.
As he boldly strode at Star Falls City street confidently with no disguises, he saw numerous players chattering and discussing many things.
Topics such as his achievement, Lethal Corp, other Super Guilds' development, etc were discussed publicly.
However, what interested Xu Feng the most wasn't the topic of discussion, but the traffic of players.
Without a doubt, the city's population was continuously on the rise, and Xu Feng deduced in another two or three days, he would achieve the requirement set by Jessica. By then, his status within the city would continue to rise, allowing him more benefits, but most importantly, the right to get a Town Decree.
A Town Decree was an order that enabled a player to construct a personal town on a neutral map. Naturally, the cost and duration of the construction all depended on the location.
If a neutral map was filled with dangerous things, then naturally, the cost would be sky-high. And if a neutral map was just mid in general, then the cost would be dirt cheap.
But only an idiot would construct a Town in such a place unless they were him, who had knowledge of a specific location that would become a gold mine very soon.
'OneManMedia should finish editing the stream soon. He needs to quickly upload it online to bait more people to flock over here.' Xu Feng smiled bitterly as he arrived at the bustling Vanguard Hotel.
When it was first constructed, only NPCs were renting the rooms, but now players were desperate to rent one as soon as one became vacant.
Luckily, there weren't any lines outside, given that Xu Feng had expanded the hotel in advance with the gold coins before commencing the raid. Hence, the Hotel had become a large-scale one, with the lobby being capable of accommodating at least 500 players.
As for how? The answer was quite easy: Magic!
With the utilization of formation and runes, along with a bit of magic, the space inside was more spacious than it looked on the exterior.
Of course, to utilize such a feature bled pretty much of Xu Feng's heart. He didn't even want to recall just how much he had spent to hire the experts to construct it.
Upon entering inside, Tracy, who had been constantly on the lookout, spotted Xu Feng almost immediately.
Nevertheless, she acted nonchalantly as she walked toward him and said. "Hello, you must be here for the gathering of Silent Guard. The others have been gathered already."
"Ah, those mercenary colleagues of mine sure arrive early at the smell of money." Xu Feng laughed heartily, mimicking the style of the NPC mercenaries.
Sure enough, some of the players who were curious at his arrival quickly stopped their gazes. They had witnessed similar scenes over and over again, so they lost interest rather quickly, not believing Xu Feng was a player.
This became even more evident when they noticed Xu Feng's high-level equipment.
Not to mention, the confidence he evoked and the laughter earlier made it more obvious he was an NPC who didn't need to care about the players.
And it was precisely because of such a mindset that Xu Feng didn't don a mask.

'Sigh, being known as the masked figure really ruined the disguise.' He lamented, refraining from using his Mirage Pendant for such petty action because every penny counts.
