Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 586: Break The Bro’s Code

With Xu Feng bringing up the topic of Ning Yi's health and his "genuine concern", Allison realized she hadn't been a proper aunt.

"You're right." Allison clasped her hands and smiled bitterly.

"That Ning Yi has been putting on too much weight and is very idle lately. I've even heard rumors of him constantly visiting a clothes store despite not being able to fit in any of that."

"It's not a rumor, Allison. Ning Yi kept wanting to try those tight jeans and skinny clothes but with his body measurement. He has been depressed lately. What you need to do is do the extreme and ensure he can only train without being distracted." Xu Feng sighed and emphasized the need for strictness.

"I understand. Give me a few minutes to make a call." Allison nodded and fiercely agreed with Xu Feng's suggestion.

Meanwhile, somewhere at a restaurant, Ning Yi, who had been stuffing himself with some delicious food, suddenly sneezed loudly.

"Achooo!" Ning Yi nearly spat out the food that was in his mouth.

"Are you okay, Brother Yi?" Sitting across him was Catherine, who got dragged or persuaded to dine with him, asked in concern.

Of course, she wasn't disgusted by his appearance or demeanor. She was simply worried about him for sneezing all of a sudden.

Wiping his nose with a tissue, Ning Yi laughed awkwardly. "I don't know, but I felt like someone was scheming against me just now."

"Oh, who did you offend this time?" Amused, Catherine knew Ning Yi made quite a few enemies, mainly because he had a righteous heart and mind, but his appearance was just disturbing for most.

Hence, the people never perceived him as a hero but rather a villain.

The prejudice was real, and the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover" was always ignored.

"It's probably nothing much." Ning Yi chuckled and continued, "Anyway, after our lunch, why don't we head somewhere to play?"

"I think I'll pass." Catherine shook her head and rejected. "You've been constantly asking me for lunch and always paying. I don't wish to keep using your money. We're just friends."

"Hehe, friends for now, but the future is uncertain." Not one to be disheartened by the friendzone logic, Ning Yi patted his chest in confidence.

"Also, I got the money and wanted to use it for something fun. Asking you to tag along is because I wanted some company, and not because I wanted to make you happy."

Still hesitant, Catherine knew his motive and didn't wish to continue to implore him.

And as if he expected her reaction, Ning Yi continued, "If you don't agree then I'll just keep pestering you until you agree. I have all the time in this world."

"Fine…" Sighing, Catherine couldn't stand his pestering, especially when he knew about her work schedule. Although he would pester her, it was still within her limit and standard.

Ning Yi would never pester her when she was working, aside from that one time when he thought a man was troubling her on purpose. Though Ning Yi's attitude quickly changed and even started addressing the man as a brother, who now happened to be someone affiliated with the Vanguard Guild.

'Ning Yi sure is blessed with people.' Catherine thought to herself, finding it quite envious. It was hard to describe her emotions when interacting with Ning Yi, but one thing was positive, she didn't feel any discomfort being next to him.

Sure, people would look at them funny, but Catherine only knew they were short-sighted and narrow-minded people.

Hence, she truly enjoyed her time when playing the Divine world, having interacted with members of the Vanguard Guild who didn't have any change of expression around them.

"Okay, let's hurry up and go to an amusement park. I've heard there's an event happening where we can get limited items." Ning Yi clasped his hands and suggested.

He remained unaware of the upcoming darkness that was to befall him for selling out a brother. Nevertheless, he could still get to enjoy one last amusement park event, which was considered a win.

"Okay, I've informed Uncle Ning Huo about the situation and he agreed with me wholeheartedly." Allison returned with great news. "Since I'm relocating to Apex Tower, Uncle Ning Huo also asked me to supervise him and ensure he stays in the training in your office."

"That's fantastic." Xu Feng gave her a thumbs up. "I believe Ning Yi would be crying tears of joy when he realized how many people are willing to help him change."

While saying that, inwardly, Xu Feng couldn't wait to see the latter's face and how he would bawl his eyes out.

Who told him to sell a brother out?

Shortly after his arrangement for Ning Yi's inevitable miserable fate was completed. Xu Feng was finally officially discharged from the hospital.

After exiting the hospital and breathing in some really good oxygen air, he felt like he was in nirvana.

"I don't know if this is just a common thing, but anyone leaving the hospital would feel as if they have gone to heaven." Xu Feng stretched his arms wide.

"Hospitals are really the bane of human existence," Allison commented and glanced at him. "You express so much more emotion right after leaving the hospital than you have expressed throughout our interaction."

Even back when the intruders had invaded her mansion and nearly took Xu Feng's life, he had not once expressed much emotion. Yet now he was acting like someone who had just been released from prison.

"This isn't an expression of emotion, but a natural occurrence." Xu Feng gently corrected her. "Had it been you, I'm sure you would have cried in joy and even asked to eat some fancy food to fill up your stomach."

"I would not."

"That's what they all said, Allison, but we all know, deep down, you would do so in a heartbeat."
